Man I shot 1-5, that's absolutely pathetic, the only positive about this game is the 0 TO's and the W, I gotta get over this cold so I can be at 100% again

Conversation Between Wright State Ast. Coach & Dontae' Brown

Michael Kane Sr.: Hey, you're Dontae’ Brown correct?
Dontae’ Brown: :Yes sir. Do I know you?
Michael Kane Sr.: I don't know you tell me.
          Dontae’ Brown: :I don't
Michael Kane Sr.: Well, I'm Michael Kane. Assistant basketball coach of Wright State University down in Ohio. I was actually here to watch a few of my nephews play along with my son but I couldn't help but to notice that you looked awfully familiar.
Michael Kane Sr.: I've realized that you are Dontae', I've seen you come through a few sponsored basketball camps and I really like your game son.
Dontae’ Brown: :Well thanks yo. I ain't never talk to a college coach before
Dontae’ Brown: :This is a first
Michael Kane Sr.: Well it's great to meet you Dontae' *Moves hand forward and signals handshake*. I can definitely see many more recruiters meeting up with you as you grow.
Dontae’ Brown: :*grabs hand, slides down, locks fingers and pulls away* my doctor been told me I been stopped growing
Michael Kane Sr.: Well haha. I meant age wise not necessarily height because you've already got a solid frame to only be a freshman.
Michael Kane Sr.: Better than some of the guys on Wright State actually haha.
Dontae’ Brown: :Well thank ya. But don’t focus on me. I don’t even think I'm the best on this team. You should probably speak to Jeremy before me
Michael Kane Sr.: That reminds me, why aren't you on the floor right now?
Dontae’ Brown: :There’s a new kid on the team. If you look over there, he over at the left elbow. When Tyree came on the team, I was scared that he would take my spot in the rotation. So in practice I tried to scare him away so I could know that I was safe. Coach had said that I was being too rough and I got suspended for 2 games
Michael Kane Sr.: *Nods head*, the competition bug got you huh.
Dontae’ Brown: :Look, I'll tell you why I acted the way I did. Back when I was 9, I played Center on my AAU team. Then this guy named Thon Maker joined. You probably heard of him since he's actually #1 in the 2016 class. I had been starting and performing all season. Then that ***** walks on the team randomly and was named the starter. I was so mad and I just can’t get it out of my mind. That’s why have a center joining the team triggered that and I just went off.
Michael Kane Sr.: Oh ok I understand. But listen I've got to get back on the road before the traffic explodes throughout this street. You have an email or number that I could have to stay in contact with you?
Dontae’ Brown: :: I'll give you my manager's number. I'll tell you a secret. I hate having one but my dad makes me keep him. Says I'm gonna need one for the NBA but I don't know. But it's 917-84......
Michael Kane Sr.: Ok, I'll keep in touch. Nice meeting you Dontae'.

Well remember when you and Stone were in my car after the game and I told yall that Louisville sent it in the mail? Well, my manager called me at like 7:00 last night and was like Mr.John Calipari wanted to have a 3-way call with me and him. So I asked my dad and he said to put it on speaker. And I memorized what he said

                    Calipari:Hello is this Dontae'?
                    Me:Yeah
C:Well, I'm John Calipari, coach of the Kentucky Wildcats. I was hoping I had the chance to speak to you.
                    Me: So whats up?
C: Although you're only a HS freshman, this college has been heavily scouting your game and we think you'd be a perfect match.
                    Me: Thanks.
C: But there's one major problem. You're barely passing school.
Me: I aint even trying yet. Watch when the season over yo. Imma be getting a solid C.
C: Well, I have a simple solution. I want you to transfer to Foley HS down here in Kentucky. I know some people there and they'll take care of you academically.
                    Me: Well I don't kn-
Dad: He will definitely consider it. Thanks for your time coach.
C: Thank you guys, and Dontae', check your mail within the next week. Goodbye.
I figured since your older then me and probably talking to colleges you could help.

Brandon: Well what exactly do you want to know? Clearly he wants to recruit you, but your grades are a problem for him to bring you in. He's trying to get you to go to a school where you'll pass...who knows how he'd accomplish that though. Probably not the right way, Cal is a hell of a coach...but a bit sketchy sometimes.

Brandon: In order to be eligible for college athletics, you need to meet the school's eligibility standards. Kentucky is probably a 2.0 like most schools I know of. Which is straight C's. My advice? Hit the books a bit, take school more seriously. Basketball is the dream, but it can't be your only option my man...injuries happen, bad things can happen and you need a contingency plan. Happened to a guy at my old school, one of the top prospects in the country two years ago, and he blew out his knee and never played again. He's flipping burgers at McDonalds now as a 20 year old because he didn't take college or school seriously.

Brandon: Don't let that happen to you. And dude, dump the manager. You're a freshman, you've got three years to worry about where you're going to college. Other than that, you can handle colleges yourself. I'll get you a copy of the eligibility and recruiting rules my man...do yourself a favor and read over them. And in the meantime, don't take any more improper benefits, preserve that amateur status so we don't lose you playing high school and eventually college ball. I don't know if you know the rules or not, but you can't be taking gifts from colleges like that car. I must of been out of it when I rode with you man...I didn't remember that the car came from Louisville.

Brandon: You got a ton of talent, we just gotta get your head on straight. I got your back man, and if you need help with school...you know I've got those academics on lock. Hit me up if you need me for anything.

Belltown Wins 80-54 - Locker Room

Coach Anderson: Good win yall. Not everybody was on point tonight but we really stepped up as a complete team to capture the victory. That's how it's suppose to be from the beginning. Team ball and that'll get us to our destinations.

But we did a fantastic job on defense and just an amazing effort on the boards. The game plan guys... You're all giving a great effort on following it. Playing with confidence, man things can't get much better than they are!

The junior varsity basketball team played at home today and they've once again came out with a blowout win keeping their undefeated season hopes alive.

The Tigers viciously pounded the ball into the paint all game dominating with their size advantage while leaving Romulus curious on how to slow them down.

Key leaders of the sequence included Dontae' Brown who made his return with 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks while Jeremy Dean scored 12 along with 6 rebounds.
