You have a young team, you thinking NCAA bid this year?
I was surprised we didn't get blown out. I was even surprised we forced a double OT lol. Once it got to OT i figured they'd dominate.

made the summit league tournament title game last year and I think it is possible to make it there again and maybe win it. But it's not gonna be easy. We still can't make threes at even a decent %. A bit harder to gauge my team in the non-conference schedule.

I do think the gap between us and the top summit league teams has decreased a bit as well. North Dakota State isn't as good as they were last year, but they're still probably the favorite to win it. The fact I have three guys that are 6'11"+ is going to help me out tremendously in conference play buuuuut we are young and don't have any shooters (A.J. Hess is the best 3pt shooter at 71).

I'm guessing with the lack of shooting and so many new faces we'll get about a fifth place finish. And I don't have high hopes for an NCAA bid. but i didn't last year and we won 9 of our last 14 games I believe.

Southern Utah (1-2) vs Weber State (1-3)

Southern Utah would jump out to an 11-4 lead early looking to beat their rival. Weber State, on the other hand, wanted to assert their dominance in the rivalry and they would settle down and fight back. They'd shoot it far better than Southern Utah, but the Thunderbirds were actually hitting their threes. Weber State would still hold the halftime advantage 35-34.

Weber State shot 50% from the field (1/3 3pt), 12/18 from the charity stripe and they dominated inside scoring 14 points and grabbing 21 boards. Southern Utah shot just 37% but utilized a 7/18 3pt barrage to stay close. They'd go 3/3 from the charity stripe, grab only 12 boards and score only 8 points in the paint.

The game would remain close for most of the second half. As each minute passed it seemed like Southern Utah gained more and more confidence. Despite the fact they went just 2/12 from deep in the second half. Instead they'd focus on fast break points and scoring in the paint. With 2;20 left they managed to get a 67-56 lead. The lead wouldn't be relinquished and they'd pull one over on their rivals.

      Southern Utah: 75
      Weber State: 60

      Southern Utah
      41% FG
      9/30 3pt

      C. Nsenki: 10 points, 11 assists (3/10 FG, 2/6 3pt)
      A.J. Hess: 17 points, 3 rebounds (7/20 FG, 3/11 3pt)
      J. Willis: 10 points (3/11 FG, 2/5 3pt)
      S. Laksa: 18 points, 13 rebounds, 5 steals (8/14 FG)
      C. Hanks: 10 points, 3 rebounds (5/5 FG)

      Weber State
      44% FG
      1/8 3pt
      15/22 FT
      26 Points in the paint

      J. Bolomboy: 16 points, 6 rebounds (7/11 FG)
      W. Avery: 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists (3/6 FG)
