I use to and I might when I restart on the PS3. It is something I enjoy and feel like it does give the readers another reason to follow, however it seemed like alot of times I would create guy's and then never see the people comment on my thread anymore, so I started to feel like it was a waste of time to post the recruiting info and the updates.

If I do decide to do it, I will shoot you a PM to have you create a player

        NCAA SUSPENDS COACH DEUCE

After learning of possible recruiting violations (360 issues), it was learned the NCAA has decided to suspend Coach Deuce for 8 games, and his assistant coach J. Ramsdell will be suspended for the rest of the season.

(My 360 has decided to load my game, and being how my PS3 copy just shipped yesterday and won't be here until Thursday, I have decided to keep this thread going for now)

          BEAVERS GO .500

With Coach Ryne "The Deuce" Dezaron sidelined, the Beavers went 4-4 during his 8 game absence, with loss's against #1 USC (93-75), #15 Cal (76-71) and #18 Stanford (74-69) as well as a road loss to UCLA (73-68)

          OSU's victories came @ Washington (80-63), vs ASU (84-81), @ Arizona (78-77) and vs WSU (58-57)

          Coach Deuce
"I am just glad we came away with some W's. Both the Arizona and WSU games could've easily been 2 more loss's"
Coach Deuce wasn't the only Beaver missing during that 8 game stretch either. Starting SF JR C. Gillingham was lost to a high ankle sprain that will keep him out for at least another 3 games including the Beavers rematch with #1 USC at the Galen Center. (Next Game)

With Gillingham sidelined, 6'10 Robbie Conroy (7.4 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 1.2 SPG) will join the starting lineup, as Coach Deuce will be forced to play a 9 man rotation.

Awesome I'm glad you can keep this going. Are you still gonna start up another one when you get the PS3 version?

The hope is yes, but once I get the new one started, it's hard to say. I have never had much luck trying to post 2 different threads. I have tried doing both football and basketball, and basketball and baseball and have a hard time giving the time to both. I would assume it would be the same trying to do 2 basketball threads as well.

However I have tomorrow off and access to my 360 that works so I figure I should at least be able to get through the rest of this season and then on Thursday decide.

BEAVERS LOSE HEART BREAKER IN O.T.

OSU came out and played a dominating 1st half in Coach Deuce's return to the sidelines as they lead the #1 USC Trojans (56-39).

The Beavers did most of their damage from the stripe converting 18/23 F.T.'s. FR R. Conroy led the way scoring 10 points including 6/10 from the line.

USC wasn't the only ones in foul trouble though as both SR PF F. Sowers and FR C W. Ray picked up 2 early fouls which led to extended minutes by Soph S. Chavez. Chavez answered scoring 7 points and grabbing 7 rebounds.

In the 2nd half, OSU would keep their double digit lead until about 4 minutes left, but back to back turnovers led to 3 straight baskets including 2 three's by the Trojans. Despite the shrinking lead, it appeared OSU still had the game in hand and Coach Deuce's 1st upset over a #1 ranked opponent (would've been a attribute point ). With 14 seconds on the clock, All-American PG R. Spears would sink 2 F.T.'s to give OSU the 3pt lead (89-86). USC would attempt a game tying shot with 6.8 seconds to play by Zeigler would come up short as Conway grabs the rebound. The Trojans were quick to foul sending Conway to the line for the 1 and 1, where he would miss.

USC grabs the rebound and hits SR PG D. Mouton at half court where he dribbles once before putting up the buzzer beating shot to tie the game (89-89).

In the Overtime period, leads were traded back and forth but again it appeared OSU was in control with 50 seconds to play when the Trojans once again come up big with a 3PT to take the 1 point lead. OSU would still have a chance to win it, but a Sowers turnover with 2.8 seconds to play would be the final nail in the coffin.

                FINAL SCORE #1 USC-106 OSU-105

It sucked. I was really looking forward to the attribute point for beating the #1 team in the country and thought i had it at the half, and even more so when they missed the first 3pt to tie the game, but when Conroy missed the F.T., I had a feeling they were going to nail the buzzer beater.

In O.T. I has Ray, Conroy and Chavez all playing with 4 fouls and Taft not hitting a single shot he put up, which left me with a limited offense of Spears and Sowers working a pick and roll.

BEAVERS NOTCH PAIR OF TOP-25 WINS!!

Coming off a disappointing loss against #1 USC, the Beavers traveled to Tempe where they defeated Arizona State (74-63) for their 13th win of the season. AA PG R. Spears led the way scoring 17 pts well FR W. Ray added 15 pts 6 reb and 3 blks.

Returning home the Beavers looked to make a statement to not only the Pac-10 but to the nation as they took on #10 Cal (15-5) and #16 Stanford (20-5)

Against the Bears, it was a defensive battle throughout the game. But in the end it was Cal's lack of ability to hit from beyond the arc that spelled doom for the Golden Bears as they finish 3/24 from downtown. FINAL SCORE OSU-64 CAL-57

                      E. Taft led the way scoring 15 pts hitting 3/5 from 3PT, well SR F. Sowers added a double double of 10 pts and 11 reb.

Against the Cardinals, the Beavers would dominate the 1st half and go into the locker room (39-27). Hitting on all cylinders, OSU continued to pour on the points as they finish 7/18 from 3pt in the double digit victory FINAL SCORE OSU-93 STANFORD-72

Freshman W. Ray led the way with 21 pts 4 reb 4 stls and a season high/career high 7 blocks!!! The 7'0 bigman is now averaging 2.7 BPG which is 4th best in the NCAA

JR C. Gillingham also returned from injury to start at SF and finished with 16 pts 7 reb and 4 ast.

Sowers just missed out a consecutive double double finishing with 13 pts and 9 reb well Conroy and Chavez each scored 10 points off the bench.

OSU will continue it's 3 game homestand on Friday as they host (12-14) Arizona.

                        BEAVERS FINISH STRONG!!!

Coming off back to back wins over Top-25 programs, Oregon State went on to win 4 of their next 5 games to finish the regular season 1 "W" short of 20. (19-9).

                        W #16 vs Arizona (80-78)
                        W #17 @ Washington State (72-52)
                        W #18 vs Washington (104-75)
                        W #19 vs Oregon (82-71)

The only blip on that kept the Beavers from a 8 game win streak and W #20 was another 2nd half meltdown vs UCLA. Leading (48-31) at the half, OSU would manage just 27 2nd half points well the Bruins went from hitting 2/6 3pt in the 1st half to hitting 10/22 in the 2nd half.

                        Coach Deuce
"20 wins in the regular season was our goal, but now we just need to refocus our attentions to the Pac-10 tournament and look to improve our resume in the eyes of the selection committee"

USC WINS 3RD STRAIGHT REGULAR SEASON TITLE!!

With a 15-3 conference record, the #1 (27-4) Trojans have won their 3rd straight Pac-10 regular season title and claim the #1 seed, where they will play the winner of ASU (15-14/7-11) vs Arizona (14-16/5-13)

#22 Stanford (23-7/12-6) goes into the tournament as the #2 seed. They will play the winner of WSU (10-18/2-16) and Oregon (18-11/9-9)

OSU (19-9/11-7) will join Stanford's side of the bracket and will play Cal (17-10/9-9) in a Quarter Finals matchup.

Washington (18-12/11-7) will play UCLA (20-10/9-9) on the other side of the bracket.

                          Coach Deuce
"Getting seeded up against Cal is a tough 1st game. We split with them during the regular season, so I feel like it could go either way, but they have a very motivated team (7 Seniors 5 Juniors 1 Freshman)."

3 Pac-10 teams will go into the tournament on the bubble watch list. Oregon (#37 RPI)/Washington (#36 RPI)/UCLA #50 RPI). Of the 3 the Bruins obviously have the toughest road ahead as they must beat UW and then possibly face #1 USC. Oregon however despite their #37 RPI could find their season end in the NIT if they can't at least get out of their play in game vs WSU.

                            BEAVER CURRENT PROJECTION #8

Going into conference tournament play, the current bracketology has Oregon State projected as #8 seed with a 1st Round matchup vs (18-10) Boston College.

Sticking to their past resume of loving high t.v. rating matchup's the Selection Committee has OSU projected to play #1 USC in a 2nd Round matchup.

OSU currently has the #26 RPI in the nation with 5 wins (5-8) over team's in the Top-50, a 4-0 record vs teams ranked #51-100, a 8-0 record vs teams ranked #101-200 and a 2-1 record vs team ranked 201+

The Beavers 1 bad loss to the year was San Diego (Ranked #245).

So we know that USC is #1, but whatever happened to Vanderbilt? Also who else is projected as #1 seeds going into tournament play? Well here you go...

                              #1 USC (27-4)
                              #2 Texas (26-4)
                              #3 Vanderbilt (26-4)
                              #4 W. Virginia (26-4)
                              #5 Duke (22-6)
                              #6 Maryland (23-6)
                              #7 Louisville (24-7)
                              #8 Indiana (25-6)
                              #9 Seton Hall (23-8)
                              #10 Providence (24-6)
                              #11 Clemson (25-6)
                              #12 Kansas State (22-6)
                              #13 UConn (21-10)
                              #14 Wisconsin (23-6)
                              #15 Oklahoma State (21-9)
                              #16 Nevada (26-4)
                              #17 Mississippi State (20-9)
                              #18 Iowa State (20-9)
                              #19 Tennessee (21-10)
                              #20 Notre Dame (21-8)
                              #21 Florida (20-8)
                              #22 Stanford (23-8)
                              #23 North Carolina (18-10)
                              #24 Georgetown (21-11)
                              #25 Ole Miss (19-8)

Current projections have the Top-4 ranked teams as #1's, however the wrong team going far or losing early in the Big East, ACC and Big 12 tournament could change that quickly..

Nevada is a team to watch out for. The Wolfpack are the #1 Mid-Major in the country and had a 17 game win streak snapped by Boise State. but have since won 5 straight.

Rumors are the Wolfpacks current coach (K. Potter 39-20) name is on many power schools short list once the season ends.

Tough USC loss and losing out on that attribute point, but you finished the season strong. 1 game shy of 20 wins and 11 Pac-10 wins is certainly solid. That San Diego upset hurt, but maybe you can grab #20 against Cal in the conference tournament.
