COLORADO HOLDS HOG'S TO JUST 14 1ST HALF POINTS!!!

Arkansas started out the year 4-0 including wins over La Tech and Florida State, but came into the game having lost their past 2 games (N. Iowa 70-62, and Middle Tennessee 79-49).

Led by JR S R. Lawrence (11 PPG) the Hogs would manage a school record 14 points in the 1st half, with Lawrence scoring 6 of the 14, as Colorado took a (57-14) lead into the locker room.

With the game well in hand, Coach Deuce gave extended minutes to the 2nd unit in the 2nd half but even they out scored the Hogs (50-32) as Colorado surpass's the century mark for the 2nd time this season.

    FINAL SCORE CU-107 ARKANSAS-46

    P. Ridnour led all scorers with 23 pts well also adding 7 rebs.

TJ Youngblood had 19 pts 6 reb and a team high 9 assists as he hit 4/6 from deep.

    J. Bauer (14 pts 8 reb 2/4 3pt) and A. Lathum (11 pts 5 reb 3/3 3pt) also finished in double digits, as did J. Mallory who had 11 pts off the bench.

    R. Lawrence led the Razorbacks with 10 pts and was the only player to get into the double digits.

      #7 (5-1)

      TURNOVERS LEAD TO LOSS!!

      1ST HALF RECAP
6'8 SO SF Kendall Jenkins (Beast10) leads Running Rebels to double digit 1st half lead (52-39) with 16 points (5/8 FG, 2/4 3pt), 3 rebs (all offensive) and a team high 5 steals.

TJ Youngblood led the Buff’s with 13 points including 11 of the team’s first 16 well playing just 7 minutes in the 1st half after picking up his 3rd foul on a charge call.

With YB out and Lathum (0/2) being shut out by Jenkins “D”, the CU bench steps up and scores 16 points led by V. Curtis (6).

      At the half- Coach Deuce
“If we are going to get back in this game, then we need to do a better job of breaking their press (they press after every made bucket) because 16 turnovers in a half won’t win you games. We also need to figure out how to get Lathum the ball and open looks. Jenkins is covering him like a blanket and taking advantage of bad entry pass’s.”
Game Note- Youngblood wasn’t the only star player to suffer foul issues in the 1st half. UNLV’s All-American C. Moss played just 5 minutes scoring zero points.

      2ND HALF RECAP

Colorado would make a run for it late in the half despite not playing with their star player (Youngblood) as FR Ali Lathum steps up to score all 15 of his points in the 2nd half but 3 straight miss's from beyond the arc and Youngblood on the bench with 5 fouls lead to the Buff's coming up short in the bid to upset the Top-25 Rebels.

      FINAL SCORE #7 UNVL-90 CU-85

      PLAYER STATS

Kendall Jenkins takes POG honors as he finishes tied for the game high with 18 pts (7/10 FG 2/4 3pt 2/2 FT), along with 5 rebs 4 assists and the 5 steals.

SR SG G. Spencer also had 18 pts, well SR Center C. Moss finished with 10 pts (all in the 2nd half)

      P. Ridnour led the Buffs with a double double of 17 pts and 10 rebs.

TJ Youngblood managed just 2 points in the 2nd half after picking up his 4th foul within a minute into the 2nd half, finishing with 16 pts in just 12 minutes on the court.

Lathum (15), Acasio (13) and Curtis (12) also ended in double digits.

BUFF'S GO 3-0 ON THE ROAD TO IMPROVE TO 8-2!!

After a disappointing loss to #7 UNLV, Colorado finished up their 4 game road trip with 3 straight wins leaving them at (8-2) with 3 non-conference home games left to play (4-6) Northern Colorado, #10 (9-1) West Virginia and #1 (10-0) UConn

Here is a recap of the 3 win's..

The Buff's improve to 2-0 against instate rival schools, as they go into the locker room up (42-37) and cruise to the (79-67) victory.

Youngblood bounces back from his foul issues to lead the way falling just 1 rebound short of a double double with 17 pts and 9 rebs.

Lathum (3/4 3pt) and Bauer each add 13 points in the win.

Coach Deuce improves to 5-1 lifetime against his hometown team as the Buff's use a huge 2nd half to propel them to the double digit win. (87-65)

Tied (36-36) at the half, Lathum and Youngblood explode in the 2nd half hitting a combined 7/9 from deep as both players finish with 20+ points

Youngblood takes POG honors with 28 pts (4/8 3pt) 6 rebs and 3 assists

        Lathum finished with 22 pts (6/7 3pt) 6 reb and 4 assists.

        P. Ridnour (14 pts) and D. Torres (8 pts 7 assist) played well in supporting roles.

The BSU backcourt led the way for the Broncos in the loss.

JR SG E. Horner led the team with 17 pts (3/5 3pt) well SR P L. Billings had a double double with 10 pts (2/7 3pt) and 10 assists

The Cowboy's entered the game (3-8) and were no match for the Buff's as Colorado takes a (50-39) lead into the half. With the double digit lead, Coach Deuce once again gave extra minutes to the 2nd unit as SO Walkon Victor Curtis takes POG honors as he leads the team with 16 points.

        FINAL SCORE COLORADO-92 WYOMING-66

Bauer (13) Ridnour (12), Mallory (12) and Youngblood (11) all add double digits in the win.

6'4 SR SG G. Cuffe (former 3* Wyoming Mr BB) led the Cowboy's with 20 pts (3/9 3pt) 7 reb and 6 assists in the loss.

COACH DEUCE LANDS JUST 1 COMMITMENT IN IN-SEASON RECRUITING!!

Looking to add size to a roster that zero players on scholarship taller then 6'9, Coach Deuce went big during in-season recruiting offering up 6 of the teams 7 scholarships but came away with just 1 commitment.

5* All-American 6'10 Parker Bradley (#14 Overall/#2 C) turned down Colorado to stay close to home as he agrees to play for Charlotte. (Bradley is from Wilmington NC and was North Carolina's Mr BB)

          Fellow 5* All-Americans 6'9 Jarryd Montague (#12 Overall #2 PF) and 6'8 Jean-Baptiste Vega (#21 Overall/#3 PF) also signed elsewhere.

Montague (Hayward CA) signed his intent to play for Washington State well Vega (Chicago IL, Illinois Mr BB) signed with Wisconsin.

Well Bradley,Montague and Vega won't be playing in Boulder next season, 1-5* All-American will.

6'7 Ramod Powe(#4 Overall, #1 PF) out of Henderson Nevada turned down a instate offer at UNLV and signing with Colorado.

Powe averaged 10.9 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 2.8 APG, 2.3 APG and 2.3 SPG this past season at Findlay Prep, a high school power house.

From 2006 to 2011 Findaly Prep went 116-5 including 2 ESPN Rise National Titles.

          Coach Deuce
"Landing Powe is a huge gain for our program. For him to choose us over UNLV was unthinkable 2 years ago"
**The signing of Powe a 5* AA, in-season give Coach Deuce another attribute point**

          7'1 JORDAN JAMES STILL WAITING

Well Coach Deuce didn't land Parker Bradley, not all is lost yet. 7'1 Jordan James (Harlee) choose not to sign during in-season recruiting. The #2 Overall Recruit and #1 Center currently still has only 1 scholarship offer (Colordo) but that hasn't keep him from putting Kansas, Florida, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Alabama as his Top-5, well the Buff's are #7.

COLORADO'S MR BB SIGNS WITH BYU

4* PG Stephen Crisp (#46 Overall/#23 PG) a Denver native has decided to sign with BYU instead of coming to Boulder. Crisp averaged 11.6 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 5.4 APG, 1.9 SPG and shot 40% (17/42) from 3pt this past summer in the ABL.

          Coach Deuce
"Of course we are disappointed that Stephen picked BYU over us, but I think there was alot of pressure from his family"

          BOARD RECRUITS SIGN ELSEWHERE

5* PG Antonie Cole (Knickerbocker91) has agreed to play at George Washington.

4* SG Jojo Brown (gsutiger) has agreed to play at La Tech.

3* SG Tyrone Damon (Wonzer21) has agreed to play at Gonzaga

(3* PG Dinky Woods (SuperJames) has yet to sign, but currently has NC State (Offering) followed by Colorado (also offering) at 100%)

I'm surprised my player as a 5* didn't go to a bigger name school than George Washington, but then again if he's anything like me it makes sense. Hopefully the Colonials will have a good run during his time there.

Colorado looks to be off to a great start, I don't think they're going to run into much trouble in the Big XII besides Texas and Kansas.

Don't worry, I love college hoops and I really enjoy sharing my success here on the boards. Plus I still have like 250,000 views to catch Super James and that won't happen unless I have new posts for people to read

I don't know about that, well I am the only one offering I slide from #5 to #7. My only hope now is that nobody offers ahead of me and I move up at the end.
