The second half was a rush, so much so I forget to record anything, lol. But it was a great win and Ray showed me he still has something; I just hope he can survive till the playoffs, the increased minutes are really wearing him down. Gonna have to rest him some games at the rate I'm going.

Re: Second Coming: A SuperSonics Return

        January 7th, 2016

He hadn't slept. How could he? His mind buzzing from last night's win, the city of Seattle seemed to be more alive than usual. He half-expected the streets to be filled with crowds celebrating like they had just won a title; the arena sure felt like that.

A great weight had been taken off the team's shoulders with the victory and the rest of the season seemed minor in comparison. They had no more games with the Thunder in the regular season, which meant the only time they could possibly see them next was in the playoffs.

The playoffs, he thought with a sense of excitement and trepidation. He took a deep sip of his coffee, eyes working over his computer screens, reading up on all the morning's takes of last night's game.

There was a knock on his door and the familiar face of Fredricka popped in. "You stayed here all night again, didn't you?" she asked, knowing full and well the answer.

He offered a minor shrug as she invited herself in, taking a stance right in front of him, one hand on her hip while the other hung to her side; 'Ricka used to be part of the high school dance team and she would constantly take this stance. She was still just as thin as she was then; age had no dominion over her it seemed. "How was New Years?" she asked, her tone indicating that this wasn't a rhetorical question.

Max kept his eyes glued to the screen. "Fine."

        "And your mother?"

Despite his best efforts, he frowned. "Fine."

'Ricka let out a chuckle, shaking her head. "You didn't see your own mother. You are a piece of work, Maxwell."

A shiver went up his spine as she said his full name; he hated it when she said his full name, she never said it unless he was about to get an earful. "I won't do this now."

'Ricka kicked his desk, shaking his monitors, bringing his eyes to her face. "We're doing this," she assured him, her dark eyes drilling into him. "Don't make me go 'angry black woman' on you; I will light you up."

He scowled. "You really want to force the issue?" He leaned back in chair and waved off what he said, hoping she wouldn't take it as a challenge. "How was your vacation? How were the slopes?"

She glared at him. "You need to go see your mother. And your brother."

He shook his head vehemently, unwilling to even consider her point. "If they're so happy together, let them be; I'm not a part of that." He turned his attention back to his monitors.

'Ricka kicked his desk again. "You need to forgive your brother; he's family, Max!"

He glared at her now. "He was family. Then he decided to drive drunk and nearly plow into a van full of kids." 'Ricka's eyes hit the floor and Max pressed onward. "Most of those kids were the younger siblings of our classmates. Do you know what it was like, being the brother of the man who nearly ruined the lives of half-a-dozen families?"

The last two years of high school had been hell for him. He had become marked after Gill's near disaster; he had friends who had refused to talk to him after what happened and, for the small community of 3,000 people in their little town in Washington, losing one friend was like losing a dozen in Seattle.

He had to see his classmates every day for two years after that. He hadn't gotten any invites to any parties, he hadn't been voted anything, and the whispers were always when not if he would succumb to the same demons his brother had.

'Ricka was on the of the few to stick by him in that time; in fact, she was probably the only one, really. After graduation he had picked the smallest college in the state to go to, then headed there for four years; he came back into town for the big games, but he stayed as far away as he could otherwise.

And the blame all belonged to Gill and no one else.

"Max, it's time to let that go," she said after a long moment, her tone considerably less hostile. "It was high school ... it was 16 years ago."

He sighed, shaking his head. "It was, but it doesn't make it any less meaningful; he put people in danger because he wanted to get drunk."

        "He's changed."

Max flashed a sarcastic grin. "He's 'changed' before."

"You should see your mother. Remember, 'In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In all things, charity.'"

He rolled his eyes. "You're throwing St. Augustine quotes at me?"

She nodded. "Yeah, I am. You could use a saint's intervention right about now." With that, she left, leaving him without a chance for a parting shot.

He stared after her before turning his attention back to his monitors.

If a saint wanted to help him, he'd take it in the playoffs; not before.

Trekfan, I think you've inspired me to start my own MyLeague dynasty here on OS. Your format, with an awesome storyline and a decent amount (but not too many, which is important to me) of games played per season, is really the best format on here for a MyLeague dynasty. If you don't mind, I think I'm gonna start one with the Nets with a format like yours (but my storyline will be nowhere near as good as yours is bro).

Thanks for inspiring me to get into this, and keep up your awesome work. I'll be following this one for the rest of the year

Thank you! I don't mind at all, jack my formatting for all it's worth. I've always felt MyLeague/MyGM are two modes where you shouldn't play every game -- that's way too time consuming, one, and doesn't really prove how good you are at assembling a team, two.

I look forward to seeing what you cook up for your storyline, Prokhorov is an interesting guy and should allow for plenty of imaginative story-telling. Thanks for the follow and the compliments.

Dude, the Northwest is SOOOOOOOO bad. Worse than I really thought they'd be -- the TWolves are a year away from being anything, but they'll get there. The Blazers desperately need a second star (poor Lillard, surrounded by busts) and the Jazz are just stuck -- I really thought they'd take a leap at the beginning of the season, but Favors' play has dropped off some while Hayward is making people look silly.

And the Nuggets ... the Nuggets are a mess; it's a firesale for them at the deadline and in the offseason for sure.

Knocked out a game with the Twolves before work -- that team is gonna be something, let me tell you. Recap and highlights later this afternoon. As always, thanks for keeping the faith and stay tuned.

Thanks man, and you're welcome for the compliments and the follow haha. I'm working on a story with Prokhorov involved, and it'll more than likely involve
                  Spoiler

I'll work on the story over the next few days, and I'll start posting a lot of stuff once my four-day weekend starts on Saturday (school makes doing this really difficult, so I'll be taking advantage of all the days off that I can get haha).

Can't wait to see the results from the T-Wolves game, too. In the first MyLeague I started on 2K16, it only took three seasons for Minnesota to win the Finals. They are gonna be really good, really soon.

                          Sonics Put Down T'Wolves

                          January 15th, 2016

                          By Vonny Lee

The Sonics (26-15), for the second time in four days, beat the T'Wolves (18-23), this time convincingly 107-94 at home. Minnesota was without the services of Andrew Wiggins, whom was out with a treaked hamstring, but even he wouldn't have been helpful this night.

The Sonics defense was humming, coming away with 11 steals, 5 blocks, and grabbing 36 rebounds and assists each. The team flew around the ball and was lead by its two youngest players in Noel and Jefferson, both of whom had their best performance of the season this game.

Jefferson, in particular, thrived off the steals on the fast breaks, and his dunks sent the crowd into a frenzy on multiple occasions. It wasn't a complete rout until the fourth quarter, when the Sonics finally secured a double-digit lead and kept it.

Despite the win, there are still some things the Sonics need to work on -- mainly, defensive rotations, which began to break down in third and only were minimized thanks to the steals. Nights like this are few and far between for the Sonics, who are now in the 5th seed out West, the Thunder only one game ahead of them in the standings.

The T'Wolves, despite the loss, still have a tentative hold on the final playoff spot in the West, with the Pelicans and Mavericks hanging around.

The Sonics next take on the Heat, at home, on the 17th.

WHEW. Man, just got done playing the Heat ... hands down the most exciting game of 2K I've had yet with this iteration, and could be a top-10 2K battle in the overall record (I had some classic battles with my Pacers squad in 2K9 against the Bulls -- the Bulls are still my #1 nemesis, lol).

My hands are still shaking a little from that game. Recap and video highlights soon to come.
