J.A. Adande reports that this season is a make or break season for Jason Kidd in Milwaukee.

Sixers new coach Isaac Shakur was caught in a meeting saying that he was not happy with the Philadelphia GMing & that the Sixers should have drafted Kiante Oakman.

Paul Westphal plans to make Enes Kanter a major focus in the Phoenix Suns' offense.

After the Rockets hiring of Tom Thibodeaux, James Harden trained with Scottie Pippen & Thibodeaux on defense.

SimWorld inks a deal to produce themed shoes for multiple teams. The line to be called "The Greys".

Russell Westbrook says there are no hard feelings between him & Kevin Durant. Dispells all of the rumors as "hearsay".

Fred Hoiberg plans on playing Bobby Portis at the center position at times.

Chris Broussard says to expect a faster tempo from New Orleans as he saw a stress in pace in practices.

Saturday's opening day games: Indiana at Atlanta, Cleveland at Chicago & Houston at Phoenix

Chandler Parsons (#25) guards Rayshaud Hill (Lakers)

              Preseason Recap: League Take Notice!

This is Private Vice and I'm here to give you a recap of what is possibly one of the underrated period of an NBA season: the Preseason. I know what you're saying while reading this, "Who cares about the Preseason? Why waste my time?" Well let me tell you something this preseason brought a lot of high and lows plus some interesting surprises. Before I begin yes a lot of known names and established players like Lebron James or Kevin Durant or Stephen Curry, etc do not play in the preseason unless they need to get some off season rust off. See that what makes the preseason so interesting because unknowns and surprise players make the league take notice before everything starts to matter.

Teams with great bench players like the Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons, and San Antonio Spurs even the Boston Celtics (surprise, surprise!) had a successful preseason. However there's teams who surprisingly played poorly during the preseason like the Minnesota Timberwolves, Washington Wizards, New York Knicks, even the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is only the preseason but this is not look good if your bench players can't hold their own and your predicted as a playoff team (I'm talking about you Cleveland).

There were still a lot of games that grabbed attention throughout the Preseason. Boston vs Houston is a prime example of seeing players making the league take notice. Boston won that game 97-94, it was tightly contested throughout with Boston being led by Evan Turner who stuffed the stat sheet finishing with 28 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Another highlighted game was when the Philadelphia 76ers faced off against the New Orleans Pelicans where 2 rookies showcased just how much of a force they will be once the official season starts. The #1 overall pick Che' King racked up 33 points for the 76ers while #8 overall pick Malachi Robinson finished with a double-double, 25 points and 12 rebounds, for the Pelicans. Philly came away with the 99-93 victory.

What caught the league and every basketball fans' attention was the Los Angeles Lakers vs Dallas Mavericks game. This game showcased the #5 overall pick Rayshaud Hill, selected by the 76ers but then traded to the Lakers after the draft, and he WENT OFF! He led this new look Lakers team to a 109-98 victory racking up 38 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists against the Mavericks led by rookie Tavaris Leggett who finished with 11 points and 13 assists. This wasn't the only time Hill went off in the preseason. This rookie averaged 26.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game during the preseason. When you want the league to take notice, this is how you do it. The Lakers finished the preseason over .500 and not only bringing back hope to Laker fans all over but made the league aware that Hill could take Rookie of the Year this season.

This is Private Vice and that was your Preseason Recap. Until next time readers see you in the Regular Season.

Tashion Burns Talks about having more money than he has ever had…

“It’s actually really crazy man. Like, when I was in college I was literally just trying to figure out how I was going to get some soft shell tacos that night. Now I be having to stop myself from spending too much ya know. I swear sometimes I go to the mall and I just pick up random s***. The other day I bought a ping pong table for the crib but why? I don’t even play ping pong. I’m young though man so I’m going to do me. I will say that one of the worst things about it is that everybody knows I have money now so I can’t lie and say that I don’t have any money. I know this might sound messed up but I just don’t answer the phone anymore. That’s the life though bro”.

Zorka Voskovec on his transition to a new league and a new country

What’s been the hardest thing about going from playing overseas to playing in the NBA.

Voskovec: Honestly, the pace of the game is very different. It has been a struggle to keep up with the pace of the game.

What about the States have you had difficulty with.

Voskovec: The slang is very weird. I have a difficult time understanding it. I heard DeMarcus (Cousins) say that my shoes were on “fleek”. I still don’t know what that means. He tried to explain it to me but most of it is just weird to me. And then there is this “thot” thing. I hear that so much but I don’t want to say who says it because I don’t want to get anyone in trouble with their wife or girlfriend.

Has there been anyone that you were “star struck” by when you played against them.

Voskovec: Yes. Tim Duncan has been one of my favorite players since I was a young boy. Sometimes people are surprised to hear this but even as a kid from Czech Republic, I was very in tune with the NBA and playing against Tim Duncan did not feel real. I am so glad I got to play against him before he retired.

David White talks with Damian Lillard about earning your stripes as a rookie

White: Yo, yall be treating me like straight dirt sometimes though. Get this, get that. C.J. took my phone the other day and I didn’t even get that back for almost the entire day. But I would be wrong if I started acting a fool right.

Lillard: That’s just part of being a rookie though man. You already know that.

White: But did they do that to you though when you were a rookie?

Lillard: Of course not. I was a star. *laughing*

White: So I’m just a scrub or something? *laughing*

Lillard: Of course they did me dirty. That is part of being a rookie. Even when you balling hard you still gonna be picking up the dry cleaning for the vets. You gotta earn your stripes.

White: Can I be real with you though… Isn’t all that kinda dumb. Why do rookies have to get treated some kind of way just because they are rookies. Who made that dumb a** rule. And what if I don’t do what yall say. Then what?

Lillard: They ban you from the team. Sometimes from the entire league man. You willing to risk that?

White: *laughing* You dumb for that. Wait, you playing right?

Lillard: Forget those donuts tomorrow and find out for yourself.

James Harden soars over the Suns for a layup in the nightcap

The NBA Season Kicks Off; Horford Returns to Atlanta With A Bang; The Interview, With Hassan Whiteside

                          1. NBA Season Kicks Off
The NBA season kicked off today with a three-game slate that took viewers from Atlanta to Chicago to Phoenix—with the customary LeBron viewing, of course. The Cavaliers' star has played in eight of the past nine Opening Day games. The mathematical likelihood of that? Well, if there are 30 teams in the league, 6 of whom play on opening day, that's a 1-in-5 chance (20%). Over nine years... well, it's a really, really small number. But of course this is a business, so it's hardly surprising. What is surprising, though, is the Suns getting an Opening Day look. The league wants to get an early look at Kiante Oakman, and they got 36 minutes worth of him to go with 10 points and 3 steals. Not a bad opening for the youngster.

                          2. Horford Returns To Atlanta With a Bang
It's hard to think of a more terrifying frontcourt than Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap. The duo did their part on Opening day, combining for 47 points and 13 boards, but it wasn't quite enough to take a win at home against the visiting Pacers and returnee Al Horford. While Paul George stole the offensive show with 33 points in a 109-106 win, it was Horford's 11 points and 13 rebounds (game-high) that carried the day for Indiana. Horford is poised to be the perfect big man complement to Paul George, and if he continues to play as well as he has begun the season (and improves on 2-7 shooting), this may be the year Indiana puts it all together. Dennis Schroeder notched a game-high 14 assists for Atlanta.

                          3. The Interview, With Hassan Whiteside
Hassan Whiteside scored 14 boards and grabbed 10 rebounds in Houston's 110-96 win in Phoenix in his first game for Houston.
Q: No blocks tonight. What's up?
A: (Laughs) Sometimes it just doesn't happen, I'm happier with the start and the minutes than I am with the blocks.
Q: What are your goals for this year?
A: I think we have the same goal as everyone in the league: go out there and win.
Q: What's it like to play with James Harden as opposed to Dwyane Wade as the primary scoring option?
A: It's different, you're right. Wade was a little more cautious, which is good or bad sometimes. Harden's a bit more of a scorer—I'm just happy to clean up the glass. [Whiteside had 3 offensive rebounds, a team-high.]

Notes: Chicago beat the visiting Cavliers 115-112, keyed by Jimmy Butler's 27 points... Tom Thibodeaux earned his first win as the Rockets' coach, keeping his Points Allowed to below 100, his stated goal for the year... 12 of 13 of the past Opening Days have seen at least one team that eventually advanced to the Finals, will this year continue that trend?

Love in the Air in Boston; Warriors!!!; The Interview, With Chris Paul

                              1. Love in the Air in Boston
Kevin Love is the newest superstar in Celtics' green, and he's gotten off to a bang there, scoring 26 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the Celtics' opening win over the Bulls. Most importantly, he looked like the Kevin Love of old—the double-double monster, the best player on the court when he wanted to be—the Kevin Love that Cleveland was willing to pay such a high price [Andrew Wiggins scored 30 points and grabbed 11 boards in the Wolves' loss to the Nuggets] to bring in. If Love is truly back to his normal self, then Boston easily has the pieces to make a deep playoff run—exactly the kind Love never saw in his prime years with Minnesota. Love shot 9-18, 2-4 from three, and 6-6 on free throws in the win.

                              2. Warriors!!!
Ok, so the Warriors only scored 153 points in their opening game. Rather than discuss individual platitudes, let's once again (we always seem to do this when it comes to the Warriors) discuss history. Golden State's 90 first half points tie the 1990 Denver Nuggets for second-most points in a half, ever; now a record for an Opening Day game. And oh yeah, 153 points set the record for most ever in an Opening Day game. The 60-point margin? Opening Day record. The Warriors had a remarkable 7 players score in double digits; the most incredible thing, from my perspective, is that the Warriors were a combined PLUS 300 in the win. It's scary to think of the records this game would have set had the Warriors not scored a paltry 23 points in the third quarter. 17 more, to tie their 4th-quarter's 40 points (the fewest in a quarter besides the 3rd), and Golden State vaults into the upper echelons of "most points in a regulation game" history.

                              3. The Interview, With Chris Paul
Chris Paul scored a game-high 30 points and dished out 11 assists (also a game high) in the Clippers' 131-105 win over their in-city rivals.
Q: It seems like every year is the "last year" for the Clippers Big 3. How do you put that out of your mind on gameday?
A: We know that when everything works we're pretty unbeatable, so we just go out there and try to make sure everything works.
Q: How weird is it to see [Russell] Westbrook in the gold and purple?
A: It's a bit weird, yeah, but old faces in new places always are. He's a great player, and a change of scenery won't change that.
Q: When you play the Lakers, do you ever consider what might have been?
A: I used to, but you realize that there are so many potential deals over the course of your career that each loses its importance over time. The real deals are, well, the real deals.
