Sonics take advantage of 20 turnovers to blow out Bulls

Seattle - The Sonics defense created havoc all night leading to sloppy play by the Bulls en route to a 124-91 blow out win over Chicago on Monday night. Milos Teodosic led the way with 27, and Jamal Crawford chipped in 20 as well as Seattle shot an impressive 53% from the field on the night to go with the Bulls' woes. Seattle will play their second of a back to back tomorrow when they welcome the Portland Trailblazers into Amazon Arena to renew their old Pacific Northwest rivalry.

Lillard, McCollum lead Blazers to win over Sonics

Seattle - Damian Lillard, and C.J. McCollum were electric scoring 37, and 36 points each to lead the way as the Blazers pulled away for a 124-106 win over the Sonics on Tuesday night. The Sonics, on the second half of a back-to-back appeared to fatigue in the second half, allowing the Blazers dynamic guard duo to take over, and put their stamp in this new chapter of the Blazer/Sonic rivalry. The Sonics will have a day off before finishing up the homestand against the Memphis Grizzles Thursday night.

Grizzles hold on to top Sonics 106-92

Seattle - The Grizzles knocked down 15 three-pointers, and jumped out to a 33-9 lead in the first quarter. Seattle cut it down to single digits a couple times in the fourth quarter, but could not make the final push, as Memphis pulled away for a 14 point win at Amazon Arena. Tyreke Evans led the way for Memphis with 25, shooting well from beyond the arc, and driving the lane to create havoc for Seattle. Who also could not contain Marc Gasol's post game in this one. Seattle has a day off before flying across country to Madison Square Garden to face the New York Knicks on Saturday night.

Knicks pull away in fourth to hand Sonics third straight loss

New York - It was a tight game through three quarters, but the Knicks closed the game outscoring the Sonics 29-14 in the fourth quarter to pull away with the 100-84 win. Kristaps Porzingis was unguardable for the Sonics all night scoring 27 points, on a blistering 13-16 shooting performance, while the Knicks got to the line 26 times compared to 9 for the Sonics, which ended up being the difference in the game. Seattle will now take Sunday off before coming back home to face the Golden State Warriors on Monday night.

Sonics get out gunned in second half, suffer fifth straight defeat

Seattle - The Sonics hung tough with the Charlotte Hornets for the first half of Wednesday Night's game, but Charlotte used a 35-19 third quarter to pull away, and end up blowing out the Sonics 108-86. Kemba Walker had 23 for the Hornets, and Dwight Howard chipped in a 10-20 performance as Charlotte's lockdown defense in the second half resulted in Seattle's worst shooting performance of the season. The only reason the scoreline wasn't worse is Seattle was able to convert 24-28 from the line, but it didn't matter as three players were held scoreless for the Sonics. Seattle will take tomorrow off before a road back to back against the Jazz, and Thunder beginning Friday night in Salt Lake City.

                  Re: #WereBack Sonics NBA Return

Sonics second half rally falls short as they drop sixth straight

Salt Lake City - The Sonics losing streak reached six games Friday night, as all Jazz starters scored in double figures, and Alec Burks chipped in 20 off the bench in a 106-92 win. JaVale McGee, and Milos Teodosic had impressive showings for the Sonics, but were countered by Rudy Gobert, and Ricky Rubio on the other side both posting double-doubles. The bench play is where Utah got the edge with Burks performance. Seattle will have to forget this one in a hurry as they're back in action tomorrow night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Thunder Big Three dominate as Sonics drop seventh straight

Oklahoma City - The OKC Thunder's new big three dominated on Saturday night led by Russell Westbrook's 36 points as they dispatched the Sonics 115-92 sending them to their seventh straight loss. The win came at a cost for OKC however as both Westbrook, and Paul George had to leave the game early with injury, but they did plenty of damage before that point as George pitched in 28 points as well. Serge Ibaka played well in his return to OKC with 17 points but it was nowhere near enough to keep up with the Thunder trio. Seattle will have tomorrow off before returning home Monday night for a match up with the Brooklyn Nets.

Liking this so far. I like that you didn't wait, you just dove right into the expansion. I've been kicking around a Sonics association myself, but I'm really enjoying following yours!

Nets clamp down in second half to deal Sonics eighth straight loss

Seattle - The Brooklyn Nets locked down on defense in the second half outscoring the Sonics 49-32 to turn a five point halftime deficit into a twelve point win at Amazon Arena. DeAngelo Russell had 22 points for the Nets, while Sean Kilpatrick chipped in 21 off the bench. Meanwhile the Sonics got a big game from Serge Ibaka who had 29 points and 11 rebounds in his double double, while Milos Teodosic chipped in another 20. However the Sonics did not get much help from anywhere else on the roster as they fell to their eighth straight loss. Seattle now will take a day off before hitting the road to take on the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night.

Sonics snap eight game losing streak with upset over Hornets

Charlotte - Jamal Crawford led the way with 17 points as five Sonics scored in double figures to snap their losing streak and upset the Southeast division leading Hornets 112-93 on Wednesday night. JaVale McGee chipped in with a double double as well collecting 14 points and 10 rebounds as Seattle battered the Hornets defensively with a 58-40 rebound advantage. The win was much needed for the Sonics for their confidence. Coach Milan Mack commented after the game how the vibe in the locker room had been down before tonight's win. Although this team was not expected to do much in it's first year of expansion. The veterans on the team still are not used to losing at this clip. The 5-15 Sonics still have a ways to go, and will look to get a winning streak going Friday night in Denver when they face off with the Nuggets at Pepsi Arena.

Sonics go cold in third, get blown out by Denver 101-76

Denver - The Sonics hung tough in the first half, but fell apart in the third quarter scoring only 12 points, as the Nuggets pulled away for a 25 point blowout win. Seattle shot an autrocious 3-21 from three in the contest, and only managed to attempt five free throws as the Nuggets defense smothered the whole game. Nikola Jokic finshed with an impressive 17 point, 21 rebound double double for the Nuggets while Serge Ibaka led all Sonics scorers with 15 points. Seattle will have no time to dwell on this loss as they head back home to finish a back-to-back tomorrow night against the Utah Jazz.
