Definitely agree with this -- Okafor's value is nothing. I could see Philly shipping him off to a lottery team for a 2nd rounder, but that's about it.

I like the trades you put out there, nice moves so far ... Portland is certainly an interesting case study. It seems they're really all-in for a playoff berth this year and though I can't blame them, I definitely have to ask if something out there needs to change ... they're never going to be good enough to be top-4 in the West if they don't make a big change. I think McCollum will get moved, but I don't know what else they can do to really make a difference.

      February 5th, 2019

Drama at Target Center on a february evening.

Minny has always given us a serious run for our money. But this time, it was the other way round. Minny came in the game, seemingly underestimating us from the start. We were lighting it up from downtown. Jackson got off to a hot start, scoring 15 points in the first half. His counterpart, Andrew Wiggins, put up 13.

The two were going back and forth against each other in an exciting battle of the wings.

After halftime, Jackson just disappeared and turned ice cold in the blink of an eye. The Wolves caught up on us.

      That’s when things turned physical.

Both teams were really fighting under the rim trying to outrebound one another.

      Then ... disaster struck.

Kenneth Faried, who was thriving in the starting line-up of his new home, landed on the wrong foot after a chaotic rebounding battle down low.

He stayed on the ground and grabbed his knee.

The game froze for a second as players were left stunned. Everyone knew what was going on.

Faried limped off the floor supported by his teammates. He wouldn’t return to the game.
A report after doctors’ examination confirmed: Faried severely sprained his ankle. He would be out for at least 6 weeks.

"We'll bounce back from this, no worries", Andrew Wiggins told reporter David Aldridge after the game. "Me and Karl been through this last year. We know the struggle. We can guide Faried through this and hopefully have him back better than ever for the play-offs. Don't rule us out just yet."

Though luck once again for the Wolves who are well positioned to make the play-offs this year and are considered a legit threat in the West.

Though luck also for Faried, who is in his contract year. How this will affect his future remains to be seen …

The Wolves however found some extra motivation after this blow and crushed us in the fourth. Courtesy of a beastin' Karl-Anthony Towns.

Though break for the Dice also. A win would’ve put us in 10th place in the conference, within reach of that 8th seed we so dearly desire ...

            TRADE ALERT

            February 10th, 2019

Like every year, there were a lot of names floating around in trade rumors all season. But as always, not all trades effectively do go down. We've seen some interesting moves already this season. But just before the trade deadline, there's still some big names on the move ...

Things are bad in Memphis right now. And I mean, real bad.

After falling in 7 games to the Spurs in the first round of the play-offs last season, they were hoping to bounce back this year.

Instead, they got off to an atrocious 18-33 start and are among the very worst teams in the league.

Things started rumbling in the Grizzlies' locker room. Their chemistry was nowhere to be found and (more than a few) players were openly voicing their frustrations, letting it be known they wanted out.

            Spoiler

Front office tried to settle things down. But when disgruntled star player Marc Gasol - who has a player ETO for next year - straight up told the team he would be out next summer, the alarm bells went off.

            Spoiler

Unsurprisingly, coach Fizdale was offered as a scapegoat and lost his job in Memphis. Then, the team did what they had to do: trade Gasol.

Multiple teams showed interest, but ultimately the Raptors were able to offer the most appealing package.

With some more off-season adjustments, the Grizzlies could be back in contention right away, whilst also rebuilding for the future at the same time.

The Raptors on the other hand are all in on winning. They now run a line-up of Lowry, DeRozan, CJ Miles/Tyreke Evans, Ibaka and Gasol.

Boy ... Imagine what they can do now if they make the finals again ...!

Big trade for the Raptors, a somewhat middling return for Memphis (but they did get a pick and Poetl --JV is likely to explore free agency, I don't know if he has a place in Memphis).

Re: Roll The Dice - A Las Vegas Dynasty

                  March 1st, 2019

February was a bit of a weird month for us. We were proud to hear a lot of our young guys were selected to participate in the All Star festivities. But just ahead of the All Star break, the day before the trade deadline, word got out in the locker rooms that front office had pulled the trigger on a trade proposal.

                  It was Mudiay ...

Trading away Mudiay was one of the hardest decisions Dice management had to make. He quickly became a beloved fan favorite in Vegas ever since we hauled him in and he was a solid contributor on both ends of the floor. However, with rookie Collin Sexton coming in and looking NBA-ready from the start, that perspective changed quickly.

Sexton and Booker showed great on court chemistry together. Sexton was also averaging greater numbers than Mudiay, plus he is 3 years younger and is showing even greater potential.

Thus, management viewed him as a lock to be our point guard of the future.

While Mudiay was still a great addition off the bench, it just wasn’t worth it paying him the expected +- 20 million contract in free agency, only to have him come off the bench.

Plus, we're still paying Brandon Knight 28 million dollars over the next 2 years to ride the bench! He has yet to play his first minute since the injury, so we have to find some use for him.

We found a suitor for Mudiay in Miami. The Heat are a bit thin at PG and have to start thinking about the future. They barely have any future picks left, so Mudiay fits their needs. Hopefully Mudiay will thrive again under Riley’s command in South Beach.

Meanwhile Richardson gives us a veteraned - though still only 25 - 3 and D type of player on a budget 3 year contract. A perfect fit our roster and playstyle.

Richardson integrated fast and was contributing steady points each game. We had ourselves some good fights - although we lost - against the Jazz and Thunder, and picked up a solid win against the Nuggets. We finished the month of february with a blowout win at home versus Sacramento.

The blowout against Sacramento was enough to get us over the hump and bump back into the 11th slot, after having dropped down to 13th place earlier this month.

We were right on the heels of the Clippers and Blazers and could almost sniff the 8th seed out West.

Out East, things were looking much different. The downfall of the King and his Cavs, the sudden rise of the Sixers and DeMarcus Cousins and Marc Gasol being shipped out East changed the whole dynamic of the conference.

There was of course still the threat of the Celtics, who were slowly creeping up the rankings again. And then there was Miami, Chicago and NY once again emerging as surprise top 8 stakeholders.

Is this the revival of the East we are witnessing here?!

Revamped with some big names, this conference is looking equally unpredictable and - although very top heavy - competitive as the West.

It could be anyone's game out there.

Definitely going to miss Mudiay tho I loved playing with him.
Let's hope I don't regret the decision anytime soon.

                        March 7th, 2019

We rolled into March riding a hot streak after winning 4 straight. Head coach William Goodrich's NBA career record was 20-19 so far. An incredible track record, knowing what coach Goodrich has done for this franchise so far.

He managed to turn our season around just in time and got us from being the worst team in the league after losing 11 straight to where we are now: a competitive young squad with great chemistry that is fighting for a play-off spot. One more win would be enough to claim 9th place in the conference.

Chemistry was our biggest plus nowadays. These young guys were clicking perfectly together on and off the court. They were having fun out there. The results came accordingly.

Our effort, hustle and teamplay was unmatched. That's what was winning us ball games right now.

Noel was a monster in the paint ever since he's been unchained from the bench in Dallas. Zizic was still proving himself to be a steady contributor night in, night out with limited minutes.

Can't Miss Chriss (that's what his teammates called him) had developed a consistent three point shot from the corner and was a great stretch 4.

Sexton, Jackson, Richardson, Bridges and Warren were all lethal go-to options on offense that could all step up when either one of them was having a bit of an off night.

And then there was our not-so-secret weapon: Devin Booker.
This dude was legit. He could score it inside, outside, from the free throw line, ... You name it.

Booker was dropping almost 20 points per game on average. Once he caught fire, he could not be stopped. This was just another near 30 points performance for him.

We obliterated Orlando by a fairly large margin, despite them knocking down 16 threes. That's how dangerous we could be when we got things rolling for us.

                        Around the league:

Buddy Hield (SAC) tears right achilles. Out for season.

                        P. McCaw (GSW) out for season with dislocated patella.

Lakers fire HC Luke Walton after being stuck in last place in the conference for 3rd straight season.

Mavericks sign SG Arron Aflalo for remainder of the season in pursuit of play-off run.

For the draft class I used (one of the most downloaded on ps4) Sexton and Duval was both rated 75 overall. I thought about trading up, but it wasn't worth it as they was similar players and not a difference on defense. Duval is more of a shooter and sexton more inside scoring and a little better athlete.

This was a CPU move, I just let 'em have it.
Though Walton's work was promising, 4 straight seasons of scraping the bottom under his coaching with the talent they have ... It probably won't hurt them trying something else.

Even the Kings and Bulls are doing a much better job than they are atm.

What draft class are you using? I'm using Nationalbballa's classes with generated storylines applied.

Sexton has been amazing for me so far! I took him 9th overall and he came into the league rated 75, age 20 with B+ potential. I sent him to training camp and now he has A potential.

He's an athletic player with good passing skills and he can get to the rim with ease. He's the perfect complementary player to run the point next to Booker imo.

It looks like I got away with a steal picking him fairly late in the top 10.
