The Return of the Highlight Factory an Atlanta Hawks MyGM Dynasty

Starting a new NBA 2K18 my gym mode, I will be rebuilding the Atlanta Hawks. So I know 2K does the whole new story line first year of it’s my gym mode. In the first year I will be trading all my draft picks away because I don’t want to use them on any of 2K first year auto draft class guys because Jackson Baldwin, Freddie Staples and Mirko our all monsters. Goal is to make this fun and enjoyable, I will try and post once a day. Let’s rebuild the Atlanta Hawks!

    Rules:
    1. 12 mins Q
    2. Difficult: Custom Sliders
    3. I will try and make realistic trades but I have to also try and rebuild this team! If y’all the Fans think the trade isn’t fair let me know!
    4. Again MyGm first year has some crazy first year draft class so I will be trading the 18 first round picks down for only 1st round picks 2019.
    5. NO TRADE FINDER WILL BE USED FOR TRADES.

Re: The Return of the Highlight Factory an Atlanta Hawks MyGM Dynasty

Atlanta Hawks Owner has had a tough summer after the Hawks fell short in the playoffs yet again (4-2 Lost to Wizards), Owner Lewis Meyers made the decision that it was time for an Rebuild in Atlanta and wants the Highlight Factory to return. But Mr. Meyers couldn’t make the decision on his new GM into after the NBA Draft and after Free Agency was over. So on October 10, 7 days before the NBA season started Lewis Meyers found his newest GM of the Atlanta Hawks.

Reporter: Mr. Glenn what are your plans for rebuilding this team?

Glenn: I plan on trying to strip this roster down from scratch and attempt to get as many draft picks I can.

Reporter: Are there any untouchable players on this team?

Glenn: No everyone on this team are on the trading block. That includes all the new Free agents and Dennis Schroeder and John Collins. Only thing that I won’t be trading away are our 1st round draft picks.

October 15 Atlanta Hawks announces its final roster for opening day:

Have you thought about doing my league instead of my gm ? it would give you more control over stuff and not have to the draft class you don't like

Yeah I was thinking about it but for some reason I love doing MyGm I have no clue why just been stuck on that mode non stop. I’m debating on just doing a sim on season one and start the next.

Trades so as I said before I would be trading all my 18 first round picks for 19 picks just because the first class 2K gives the guys are just stacked. So here are the trades I made.

            Hawks Trade: 18 1st round
            Hornets Trade: 19 1st round

Hawks Trade: Rockets 1st Round Top 5 protected, 2nd round 18
            Bulls: 19 1st Round

            Hawks Trade: 18 1st round T-Wolves Lottery protected, 20 2nd round
            Knick Trade: 19 first Round

It’s two days before the Hawks opener at Dallas and Mr. Glenn made a mistake in his roster they only have 13 guys on there NBA roster with 4 guys down in the G-League or on Two-way contracts. None of the guys on this team was sign by Mr. Glenn or draft by him. Mr. Glenn sign two active guys to his roster also made three trade just a day before the season opener.

            Trade 1
            Hawks Trade:
            75 Overall Malcolm Delaney
19 1st round Cavs Top ten protect

Mr. Glenn states “We are super excited to pull off these two trades before the season started for us. Stanley Johnson and Taurean Prince will both see a lot of minutes to start the season to see which one is better for our system. Brice Johnson is an athletic big guy who hustles and is scrappy. Brice will start the season in our rotation and we will try to develop him. Also Brandon Knight will be a great scorer off the bench and a great back up PG that we need.”

The Return of the Highlight Factory an Atlanta Hawks MyGM Dynasty

GAME ONE ATLANTA HAWKS AT DALLAS MAVERICKS

              FIRST QUARTER:
The beginning of the game was a slow start with the Mavericks jumping out to a 18-8 lead to start the game off. Wesley Matthews came out hot with 6 first quarter points but the Hawks bench players came in and cut the at the end of the first from 21-11 to 21-17 to end the Quarter. Brice Johnson had 4 points 3 rebounds.

              Second Quarter:
The second quarter was just a back and forth, into the Mavs took a 9 point lead with about 7 mins left then about half way through the quarter with the score 38-31 the Hawks went on a 11-2 run to put the Hawks ahead at half 45-44

              Image1520058622.237961.jpg

              Third Quarter:
Belong to the Hawks and there bench couldn’t be stop. Stanley Johnson took over in the post when the Mavs would put Seth Curry on him. Brice Johnson dominated the back boards and the post. Hawks would go into the fourth up 68-62.

              Fourth Quarter:
The Mavs would fight to come back but every time they would make a run to cut it to 2 points, the Hawks would make on right back to keep the game around a 8-9 point game and eventually win the game.

Mike Budenholzer after the game told the reporters “its only game one of an 82 game season but I’m so proud of these guys and the 5 new guys we sign or traded for two days ago. All the guys step up in this win and our team defense was the key.”

Re: The Return of the Highlight Factory an Atlanta Hawks MyGM Dynasty

So I know I said I’ll be doing the first home game of the year vs Denver next but I decided I’m going to sim the regular season of the first year to get out of the stupid my GM story line. But I will not being trading any one else this season. I will come back at Trade deadline and All Star break to give updates on the season then at the end of the regular season then playoffs. Year two I will play more games for every 10 games I’ll play one. I will only make logical trades so I will probably be going on the trade discussion thread to see what everyone thinks of offers I have received. I do have four picks for the 19 draft (Ayton, Porter, draft class.) I want to pick up the story after the first two season. Players I want to keep on this team are Stanley Johnson, Brice Johnson, and we shall see how Prince and Collins develop. Dennis Schroeder I want gone at some point.

Re: The Return of the Highlight Factory an Atlanta Hawks MyGM Dynasty

It’s the All-Star break for the NBA and the first year GM of the Atlanta Hawks had some controversy a week ago where his assistant GM made a trade behind his back with the Golden State Warriors for Javale McGee.

Reporter: Do you feel like your even the GM of this team? I mean your assistant GM is making trades behind your back and the owner doesn’t seem to care. His statement was “they can work it out behind close door.”

GM TG: Yes this is my damn team! I was asked from Owner Lewis Meyers to give the guys on this team a shot and I have. We are doing better than expected with a 27-32 recorded sitting at the All-Star break. But this off-season there will be changes to the team I will be bringing in my guys, and my staff.

Re: The Return of the Highlight Factory an Atlanta Hawks MyGM Dynasty

After the All-Star break the Hawks fought for the 8th seed all the way into the last game of the year. Where we lost 6 straight games the last month of the season and the Pacers on the final game of the season took the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference.

                    Regular Season Awards:

                    MVP went to:

                    Rookie of the Year:

                    Sixth Man of the Year:

                    Defensive Player of the Year:

Most Improved Player of the Year:

                    Coach of the Year:

                    Executive of the Year:

                    NBA 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams:

                    Defensive 1st and 2nd teams:

                    Rookie 1st and 2nd teams:

Then came the playoffs, lots of upsets and two teams that’s never been to the finals made it.

Off-Season time came in the NBA and the Hawks had an meeting with its entire staff.

Lewis Meyers in the meetings finally made it loud and clear that this is Travis Glenn team, that from now on the rosters and coaching staff came down to his decisions. That he now feels like it’s time for a rebuild. First order of business for Mr. Glenn was who wanna going to be the Hawks Head Coach next year. Coach Mike Budenholzer contract was up and his assistant coach Darvin Hams was up.

Reporter: Mr. Glenn now that Mr. Meyers has finally given you full keys to the team starting this offseason, and now this is your first full offseason what are your plans for this team?

TG: Well first thing that comes to our agenda is our coaching staff, I want to meet with Mike first to give him the opportunity for the head coaching job. He’s been with us since 2013, so he will get first crack at an interview. Everyone else on this staff is safe. So our next goal is free agency, we plan on going young so we will be trying to find young talent to develop.

Reporter: Do you have any plans on moving anyone this offseason?

TG: We will be holding player meetings and trying to see where everyone stands. Right now we have no problems with anyone on the roster.

Reporter: How happy were you for John to make All-Rookie Second team?

TG: He has a great rookie year, I hope he improves this offseason. I think John and Brice have improve non stop all season. Those two guys have been working non stop together to get better.

                          Breaking News:
Atlanta, Owner Lewis Meyers and GM Travis Glenn have agreed to bring back Mike Budenholzer and Darvin Ham on 1 year deals. GM Travis Glenn states it was between coach Budenholzer and Nets assistant Coach Jacque Vaughn but the Nets block the Hawks Offer.

Travis Glenn states: “We are happy to bring back Budenholzer and his coaching staff back. This is a big year coming up, we are looking for our young guys to get better as this rebuild continues. The Hawks Organization is ready for the Highlight Factory to return!”

In other news the Hawks have released JaVale McGee. Also Dennis Schroeder has came out and made it public its time for him to move on from the team.

Schroeder said: I’ve always been in the playoffs, nothing against the Hawks but I don’t want to be apart of any rebuild. I want to win now. Now the Mr. Meyers has finally given Travis Glenn 100% of the team, all he keeps talking about is rebuild, and that’s something I don’t wanna be apart of. I want to win NOW!

                          Draft:
Hawks have zero draft picks as GM Travis Glenn believes the next year Draft will be the draft with plenty of potential and Superstars. Also the Hawks come into next year draft with 4 first round draft picks.

Re: The Return of the Highlight Factory an Atlanta Hawks MyGM Dynasty

The Atlanta Hawks started 3-3 but after that started they have won 8 and lost 18 to push them to 11-22. GM Travis Glenn and Coach Bud haven’t been on the same page, now the Hawks have a big question mark, do they trade Stanley Johnson or Taurean Prince both contracts are up but both want to be starters. Prince has improved scoring from 10-13 PPG but all other categories have drop, Johnson Case everything has drop in all categories. Brandon Knight has been a great teacher to Kobi Simmons, KCP, Brice Johnson and John Collins have been leaders of the team but still the team stood 11-22.

Coach Bud last week comment after a 147-103 lost to Cleveland saying “I have no clue what this team wants to accomplish, I know there young but they have no fight. Once we get down by 10 or more they drop there heads and stop playing basketball, they start playing one on one hero ball. This is due to upper management style of let’s run and gun play physical defense.”

GM TG comments two days later “I’m the GM, me and Coach Bud sat down during the offseason and these were the guys he wanted. Now it’s everyone else’s fault but his. I see a lot of young talent who are losing a lot of close games but one to Cleveland, we are one maybe two players away from being competitive in the East conference.”

                            Hawks finally made a move.
                            Hawks Trade:
                            Taurean Prince
                            For
                            Cavs:
                            Kyle Korver
                            22’ 1st round pick

Hawks GM said they wanted to bring Kyle back so he can retire as a Hawks. They believe his best years was with the team.

                            Hawks Also Trade:
                            Terrance Jones
                            For
                            Trail Blazers:
                            2019 1st
                            Tyson Chandler

Hawks did it to get rid of the 2 year lock up deal they had with Terrance. Tyson on a big contract but it’s one year. Terrance also has complained a lot about not starting.

All-Star Break has came once again:

GM TG: I’m so pleased with this years players, they have worked hard non stop. We might not have the wins but these guys have improved. KCP, Collins Brice have been leaders and Kobi going to be a great 6th man in this league one day.

Hawks also were very happy to see the draft lottery odds and there name 4 times in the top 10:

Well I don’t know what happen with my 2K file but after the playoffs and everything my file I guess broke or whatever now all the teams that were in the playoffs are now in the draft lottery. I’m trying to uninstall and reinstall the game to see if it will change back to what it should be but this sucks. I don’t know if I should just trade around keep MyGm going or give up.
