I absolutely love some of the player comps. So helpful. My favorites:
        • DeAngelo Ayon: Jayson Tatum without a 3 pointer
        • C.J. McCoy: Prime (and better) Lou Williams
        • Brighton Reed: 25 year old Jrue Holiday
        • Evan Mobley: B-version of Giannis/Kevin Durant hybrid

Also, Brandon Boston's face and hair just look like they don't belong together. Looking at the pics of him and Qualls next to each other, I like Qualls' look. Maybe it's the angle, but I think Boston needs someone in his life to give him a haircut that better frames his face. Of course, NBA players have terrible haircuts all the time, so this is realistic

Speaking of Qualls, your description of him was glowing and he's an elite version of Murray, so why only Tier 3? Just because his team's been so bad and he's gotten hurt?

Did Morrow and Pascal ever play together, since Pascal is his comp?
?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

?Ask me about the Xbox Ally handheld - I'm on the team that made it.

Much appreciated guys, always fun putting these together.

Not gonna lie, the comps helped me a lot too. Helps to better understand where the guys stand in the league.

For Boston, he's had that haircut since he entered the league, and unless guys are really ugly - Tyrese Alston had a rough lineup and facial hair so I changed it - I leave it be. Boston I've considered changing, mostly because I hate that hairstyle in the game, just haven't gotten around to it.

Qualls is Tier 3 because there is no way he should be higher based off the performances of his team. He's put up huge numbers, but the Bucks just don't win games, so regardless of his overall, I don't think the league would see him in a better light than big numbers-bad team. If they make the playoffs, he's a shoo-in for at least Third Team All-NBA and a bump to Tier 2.

Morrow and Siakam played together very briefly. Morrow was drafted in 2025 and that season in February the Raptors traded him to Boston for DeAndre Hunter, Shake Milton and Quincy Everett, plus a 2026 first from Atlanta, which ended up being No. 12 and Dominique Allen, currently their backup SG at 78 overall but a good shooter. The Raptors were bad that year, ended up getting the top pick and took Jaylen Justice, so it worked out. well for them.

One quick housekeeping item. This is our final pre-season post, so in looking at posting history, I realized it took me six months to complete the 2030-31 season, with the offseason beginning in February and the title in July. Normally I'm at 3-4 months, so six months is, by far, the longest it has ever taken me to complete a season, and part of that is due to the twice-monthly posts we did, though there were other factors as well. If my goal is to get to 30 seasons, I'd like for it to not take another eight real-life years, so I'm hoping to ramp up the pace of the season, potentially wrapping it in 2 months. We will still do the monthly Ringer posts, though it may be only 5 things some months instead of 10 things, and The Athletic posts likely won't be as prevalent, unless I can find a quicker way to do them.

Overall, six months for one season is just too much for me and the amount of posts did get overwhelming. I'm exploring some other options on how to tell this story, but for now you can expect a slightly lighter post load for the season - at least that's my intent. Thanks as always for following along.

Totally understand a season taking 6 months. I think the fastest I've done for the Bulgarian Brothers is 4 months, and I've done 4.5 seasons in 2 real life years

Your articles are always great, so making them a bit lighter to speed things up totally makes sense.

It must be a nice feeling knowing you have two of the best players in the entire league every time your team steps out on the floor. Plus the fact he's a similar comp to the franchise's goat makes it even more fun.

I used to play a lot more regular season games in previous 2Ks, and because of that I'd only get 7-10 seasons, so it shouldn't be too difficult, mostly just moving a bit quicker and not playing so many regular season games, knowing there should be 4-8 playoff games coming.

I have a few rules that I need to implement that should right the ship on the talent disparity between us and everyone else. I really like playing with Rolle, Kuminga is fun too, but Deonte Dixon is becoming maybe my favorite person to play with. So yeah it's great for wins and losses, but it's fun playing with Rolle just in general.

With as fun as Rolle and Dixon are to play as, it's made me wonder: can we find a way to export some of the "greatest dynasty teams" here on OS and let others play against them in exhibitions or with them for fun?

I lost my 2K16 Zo + LJ + Giannis + Gill + Carmichael Hornets team, otherwise I'd make them available to play against.

I can’t speak for others, but as a backup I upload my franchise as a save scenario every year in case something happens to the local file. It’s too bad 2K doesn’t do year to year saves so people can keep things going. I 100% would be more likely to buy every year if I could do that.

Completely agree with this. My gaming plans going forward is I will be purchasing an XBOX S next spring/summer for the anticipated release of EA College Football 24. With me being on last gen 2k22 and about to start my Falcons franchise in Madden 23, also on last gen, I don’t plan on moving to 2k23 or Madden 24 because I want to devote many seasons to these two franchises.

It will be tough to have the brand new XBOX sitting in front of me with the option for next gen versions of 2k and Madden available and not play them because we can’t use year-to-year saves.

I get exactly what you mean, Marsh. I started back in November, that's nine months and I haven't finished my third season yet. I like the layout and format I created and I might keep it that way for a while, but I'm already thinking about other ways to tell my tale and you're an inspiration for that. You speak of 30 seasons and I want to reach 50
