Nice game from your top three. Artest with 8 turnovers though!

Bulls Go 2 - 3 In October Behind Brand's Dominating Performance In Cleveland

Chicago - After a tough 88 - 116 loss to the New York Knicks where Brand only had 13 points, he managed to bounce back and score 38 points in 34 minutes for a convincing 17 point victory over the Cavaliers. Not only was Brand's scoring great tonight but the Chicago Bulls bench unit was able to play a good amount of minutes without blowing the lead they had going into the second half. Jason Williams also managed to put on a great performance, coming away with 20 points and 10 assists for the double-double. Meanwhile, Artest and Kukoc didn't have too great of a game but that wasn't necessary due to the fact that the Cleveland Cavaliers are not too great of a team this year outside of Shawn Kemp who had an amazing 26 points and 20 rebounds as well as a great defensive night ending with 3 steals and 4 blocks, he did everything he could for the Cavs but it just wasn't enough. The Bulls have ended the month of October on a good note as they look towards November with their first game of the month coming against Grant Hill and the Detroit Pistons.

Elton Brand looks like a superstar in this universe so far, 2-3 isn't bad for these young Bulls.

White Chocolate and Brand are making quite the duo!

Artest is doing okay and I have faith he'll come along. Right now, he's a defensive guy first and his value is on that end. Kukoc just isn't getting it done, GM MJ should be looking to unload the guy before other teams realize Kukoc isn't what he once was.

            Seconded!

Must be fun running with JWill and Brand. Always loved Brands mid range and post game.

Bulls Say Goodbye To Three Veteran Players

Chicago - This morning it was announced that Chicago has made a trade deal that would send Toni Kukoc, Will Perdue, B.J. Armstrong and their 2000 2nd Round Pick to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for 19 year old Al Harrington and veteran big man Dale Davis. This deal gives the Bulls yet another young player that can develop over the years in Al Harrington as well as a better starting center than Chris Anstey in Dale Davis. On the other hand, this gives Kukoc a better role in Indiana as he's set to be in their starting lineup rather than the Sixth Man role he had in Chicago. When Pacers GM Donnie Walsh was asked about the deal he said, "I've always been a fan of Kukoc, when the Bulls dominance is talked about he isn't brought up enough as a pivotal star on that team, I look forward to having him in Indiana." With the Bulls no longer seeming to be a threat, the Pacers will be looking to take advantage of them potentially not being contenders so they can win a championship that they've been denied all these years and with that, Kukoc is a key piece on a contending team once again.

A pretty good trade for sure everyone we traded is over 30 years old, also helps that the young guys we got out of Williams and Harrington were drafted recent enough for us to have team options on their contracts. It gets even more interesting since we play the Pacers right after the Pistons and it'll be interesting to see how Kukoc fits for their offense.

                    Hawks Moving A Mountain

With the Hawks currently in rebuild mode they've made the decision to send Dikembe Mutombo to the Portland Trail Blazers for Arvydas Sabonis and a 2000 1st Round Pick. For the Trail Blazers this move was in response to their slow 2 - 3 start in October, for any other team that would be an okay start, but the Trail Blazers are heavy favorites to make it to the NBA Finals and their recent performance just isn't going to cut it if they want to achieve that. With Sabonis aging and his statistics not holding up they decided it was time to move on, especially if they want to have a chance against the other heavy favorites out west, the Los Angeles Lakers. Mt. Mutombo is a 3 time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and 3 time NBA Blocks Leader, if the Trail Blazers and Lakers see each other in the playoffs one has to believe Mutombo is meant to be the counter to LA's Shaquille O'Neal and we will once again see a clash of titans as an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.

Like that Pacers trade -- Harrington has a lot of potential but just isn't on the same timeline as the rest of that veteran Indy team.

Dikembe to Portland is surprising but not unexpected -- he was always seen as a bit of a "Shaq stopper" and certainly is the better defender out of him and Sabonis. The 2000 draft is one of the worst on record, though, so ATL better hope that pick falls really, really high because that draft has maybe 5 guys in it that could make a difference long-term for a franchise.

Chris Carr Shoots Lights Out, Bulls Blow By The Trail Blazers In OT

Chicago - The Bulls managed to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers to cap off what was a rough November for them. The win moves their record to 7-13 overall which isn't an absolute disaster but their record for November was an unfortunate 5-10 with wins coming few far and between. However, tonight their fortunes turned around as Chris Carr who had been useless all month stepped up in the biggest of ways by nailing 6 of his 12 attempted three pointers on the night and being the leading scorer for the Bulls as they toppled the now 14-6 Trail Blazers, the factors that played into the Bulls victory were Carr's excellent shooting which was helped by the fact that the Trail Blazers insisted on double teaming Jason Williams all night which lead to a lot of open shots, it's assumed their plan was to make the worst starter Chris Carr beat them rather than let anyone else on the team get their numbers, which unfortunately for them Carr did in fact beat them. Another factor was Artest's excellent defense on Pippen during key moments of the game, forcing him to miss shots in clutch moments and lastly the Bulls big men Brand, Davis, and Harrington worked together to neutralize Mt. Mutombo and eventually Mutombo would foul out at the end of the fourth quarter which led to him being out for overtime, freeing the Bulls up in terms of rebounding and inside scoring. The Bulls will move on to face another Western Conference contending team to start December when they take on the Sacramento Kings, Jason Williams' former team.

That's a great win against a tough Portland team, Chris Carr, it's not who you'd expect to have a big game but he really came through, Artest is finding his way as well

Chris Carr is an okay catch and shoot guy, in played games he can be good but simulated games he averages 8 ppg as a starter which is not good. I can settle with having him for now, I think we'll have decent enough cap space to get a better starting SG in the offseason. Artest is good although I do think I get too caught up in trying to make him do too much offensively because of what I know he becomes in the future.

Tough start but not something that you couldn't come back from if some guys get hot. Be interested to see if the approach becomes tank for the offseason or make moves to stay competitive. MJ has always been a guy to go for it though.
