At least you got the save files for when you do get a new PS3.

What kind of PS3 did you buy? I bought one of the new slims, so I won't have to worry about the yellow light of death anymore(I hope). Unfortunately, I was unable to transfer any of my former data.

The 120 GB slim. Took forever to re-download patches and stuff (I still am short COD map packs) but the save file moved on HC.

So without any more wait, I present, Week 14.

            Week 14 at Dallas

It was a bizarre day in Dallas, mainly because it was snowing. I mean, snow in Dallas, Texas? I suppose it has happened, the Leon Lett Thanksgiving botch was snow. Hmmmmmm.

Dallas would start with the ball and start driving, but would get stopped just shy of field goal range at the HOU 32 and have to punt. The Texans would get it back and get in range for a 40 yard field goal. Despite his struggles all season, Duncan made it, 3-0.

Dallas would punt and Houston would once again get close, but have to settle for a field goal try. This time, a 38 yard field goal, and once again, Duncan pulled it off, 6-0. After swapped 3 and outs, Dallas would get near field goal range again but would be forced to punt at the HOU 33 with 1:21 left.

Starting at the 20, the Texans would un-characteristically be aggressive and pass on first down. No worries were needed, Greg Jennings was left completely uncovered and he would get an 80 yard touchdown, 13-0. Dallas would end up punting, 13-0 at the half.

Mathis would leave the game with injury (Oddly enough, despite being listed out for the game, he randomly was available on my last drive) and the run game struggled, but the pass game did enough. 42 yard field goal, Duncan remained solid, 16-0.

To the 4th, Dallas would put together a solid drive into the red zone. Then, right near the goal line, Syndric Johnson, one of the best WR in the league (Who dropped 5 passes in the game) would fumble, forced and recovered at the 1 yard line.

Dallas got it back with 4 minutes left and only needed 4 plays to go 55 yards, blown D would lead to a 41 yard TD from Goodson to John Augustus. On the two point conversion try, Goodson broke one tackle and was tackled FORWARD into the endzone, making it 16-8 with 3 minutes left.

The Texan run game continued to fail, and Dallas would get it back with under two minutes. The first two passes would move them about 30 yards. Then, Goodson would force a pass into double coverage, and Sanrick Raines would get his 5th INT of the year.

The Texan run game still sucked, so Dallas would get it back with 13 seconds left to try a heave. Goodson would get hit as he threw, and the pass was a dead duck intercepted by Chase Beck. 16-8 final.

Withers was 9-15, 202, 1 TD. The key was no turnovers, but the offense was still meh. Mathis had 23 on 7 carries, Hawkins had 21 on 13 carries. Chase Beck was the DPOW, 5 TFL, sack, INT, FF, FR.

Goodson was 26-44, 294, 1 TD, 2 INT. Barber had negative yardage, -9 on 10 carries.

10-3 now, the Jets are next.

Re: 2018 Onward: Turning the Houston Texans Into a Winner

Denver dropped another game surprisingly, and the NFC had a few big games, with that, here is the standings.

              AFC SOUTH
              Texans 10-3
              Colts 10-3
              Jaguars 4-9
              Titans 3-10

              AFC NORTH
              Ravens 9-4
              Browns 7-6
              Bengals 3-10
              Steelers 2-11

              AFC EAST
              Dolphins 11-2
              Patriots 8-5
              Jets 7-6
              Bills 4-9

              AFC WEST
              Broncos 11-2
              Chiefs 8-5
              Raiders 7-6
              Chargers 6-7

              NFC NORTH
              Vikings 9-4
              Packers 7-6
              Bears 5-8
              Lions 3-10

              NFC SOUTH
              Buccaneers 9-4
              Saints 8-5
              Falcons 6-7
              Panthers 5-8

              NFC EAST
              Cowboys 7-6
              Eagles 5-8
              Giants 5-8
              Redskins 3-10

              NFC WEST
              Cardinals 9-4
              49ers 8-5
              Seahawks 8-5
              Rams 1-12

To my knowledge, I still wouldn't have the tiebreaker on Denver even though they've fallen. It's tough, I would REALLY like for the Patriots to miss the playoffs. However, the two teams that could stop them (Jets/Chiefs) are two of my final 3. Bah.

The game angers me again with the damned glitch. I had Kennison re-signed, but the glitch showed. I re-try negotiations, he leaves. Great.

At 7-6 the Jets are coached by Jack Del Rio.

QB: Kellen Clemens (91...why does this game love him?)
              HB: Tank Watkins (83)
              FB: Brad Stevens (75)
WR: Earl Bennett (92) Dorian Mitchell (92)
              TE: L.J. Smith (81)
              T: Enoka Oshinowo (98) Neal Randle (93)
              G: Curtis Traylor (84) Brandon Freel (93)
              C: Ryan Kalil (90)

DE: Robert Thornton (82) James Brimmer (78)
DT: Mike Milhauser (83) Darrion James (81)
LB: Justin Durant (83) David Harris (89) Rocky McIntosh (84)
CB: Darrelle Revis (91) Jeremiah Cox (80)
              S: Marvin White (85) Nedu Ndukwe (87)

Overall, a fairly middle of the road team. I get to host this one. I can't afford a loss with the Colts still even with me, and perhaps, the 1 or 2 seed still in slight hope.

Re: 2018 Onward: Turning the Houston Texans Into a Winner

                Week 15 hosting the Jets

It was a very strange game from the beginning, and it was basically over before it started. On the Jets opening drive, Tank Watkins (my old buddy) fumbled the ball, forced by Sanrick Raines, and Lamont Oden recovered it 29 yards for a touchdown.

On their next drive, Raines would get an interception and take it 37 yards for a touchdown.

On the drive after that, Brandon Biggs would get an interception and take it 46 yards for a touchdown. Just like that, I was up 21-0 in the first 6 minutes without the offense seeing the field.

My offense would never be that great. Duncan would make a 49 yard field goal as well as two from inside the 5. The one offensive highlight, a 68 yard TD from Withers to Holyfield.

Defense gave up a touchdown on a 14 yard pass to Donnie Avery at the end of the 2nd, and a touchdown in garbage time against the backups. 37-14 final score.

Offense sucked. Withers was 7-10, 132, 1 TD, 1 INT. Mathis had 56 on 21 carries, Goldwire had 23-4 (most on one play) Punted 5 times. Only 1 turnover, but the offense had nothing to do with winning that one.

Defense was excellent though. Clemens was 16-32, 212, 2 TD, 2 INT. Watkins had 10 yards on 13 carries.

Another excellent defensive performance moves me to 11-3 with the battles for the division (And maybe a 1st round bye?) still up for grabs. Two more games left, both at home. Next, the lowly Titans, with the finale against the wild card hopeful Chiefs.

Surprisingly, the Broncos dropped a 3rd straight game. Standings with 2 weeks left:

                    AFC SOUTH
                    Texans 11-3
                    Colts 11-3
                    Jaguars 5-9
                    Titans 3-11

                    AFC NORTH
                    Ravens 9-5
                    Browns 8-6
                    Bengals 3-11
                    Steelers 2-12

                    AFC EAST
                    Y-Dolphins 12-2
                    Patriots 9-5
                    Jets 7-7
                    Bills 5-9

                    AFC WEST
                    Broncos 11-3
                    Chiefs 9-5
                    Chargers 7-7
                    Raiders 7-7

                    NFC NORTH
                    Y-Vikings 10-4
                    Packers 7-7
                    Bears 5-9
                    Lions 3-11

                    NFC SOUTH
                    Buccaneers 10-4
                    Saints 9-5
                    Falcons 6-8
                    Panthers 5-9

                    NFC EAST
                    Cowboys 8-6
                    Giants 6-8
                    Eagles 5-9
                    Redskins 3-11

                    NFC WEST
                    49ers 9-5
                    Seahawks 9-5
                    Cardinals 9-5
                    Rams 1-15

Unfortunately, the Broncos have the better conference record, so they hold the tiebreaker, and will need to lose one of their last two for me to have a chance there. They face the miserable Rams and the Raiders to end.

The Ravens/Browns play this week essentially for the division, Ravens can lock it up, if they win, but they'll be even (even by tiebreakers for a bit) which would throw a wrench into things. Good, I'd rather see Cleveland than the Patriots.

The last wild card spot is essentially a battle with the Patriots/Chiefs, with Cleveland in the mix. Chiefs face the Chargers, then me. Patriots face the Dolphins (yes!) and the Colts (double yes!) so they might fall out yet.

The Saints and Buccaneers will also play in part for the division, and the 49ers/Cardinals face off as well. Interesting week of games.

Titans look basically the same, minus their starting center who is out with an ACL tear. Shouldn't be too tough.

The Colts could be 13-3 as a wild card, while the best any NFC team could do is 12-2.

The AFC is STACKED. Between myself, Dungy with the Colts, Gruden with Miami, Reid with Baltimore, Shanahan with Denver, Belichick and the Pats and even Jim Caldwell with the Chiefs, it's a tall order.

Meanwhile, the top finisher in the NFC could still be one of 6 teams.

And also, after I HAD RE-SIGNED KENNISON, now he won't show up to negotiations. Great. Well, good thing it's a deep WR draft. Still haven't gotten Chase Beck, he's being REALLY stubborn (Up to like offer 20 and he still won't budge) and Mathis hasn't returned, I'll likely franchise him.

                        Week 16 vs the Titans

The game did not start well. On the opening drive, the Titans would drive with ease, 83 yards, 12 plays, getting a touchdown on a 19 yard pass from Vince Young to McLaughlin, 7-0. But the Texans would respond, going 67 yards on 5 plays, ending on a 17 yard run by Tanard Mathis.

But into the 2nd quarter, the Titans would be untouchable again. 7 plays, 78 yards, with two big gains, ended in a 2 yard run by Young making it 14-7. But once again, this time through the air, the Texans responded. 11 plays, 73 yards, ending in a 16 yarder from Withers to Kennison. 14-14 with about 2:30 left.

For the first time, the Texans would force a punt, but would only get to midfield before being forced to punt. 14-14 at the half.

Houston would end up trying a 50 yard field goal, and Duncan shanked it, left from the left hash. The Titans would get to midfield but get stopped on a 4th and inches. After traded punts, the Texans would start a drive in the 4th at the 37.

Two facemasks later, they were inside the 10. And quickly, it was 4th and goal at the 1. In rare aggression, the Texans went for it, much to the fans delight. The QB sneak by Withers got the yard, making it 21-14.

The Titans would then have a 3 and out, and the Texans would get an unexpected boost, as Kendrell Kennison would dodge multiple defenders for a 59 yard punt return TD, 28-14. Then, the game would get blown open, Young would throw an interception that Daniel Lawrence would take 23 yards for a touchdown. 35-14.

The Titans would respond with a long touchdown drive, and get the ball back, and drive again inside the red zone with a minute left. But Young would throw an interception to Brandon Biggs, who would score his 5th TD of the year. 42-21 final score.

Withers was 11-16, 145, 1 TD. Mathis had 97 yards on 23 carries with a TD. The key, no turnovers. Don't turn it over, you'll win most of the time.

Young was 14-28, 271, 2 TD, 2 INT, 70 yards on 8 carries and TD. Far too many big plays allowed for my taste. They had negative rushing otherwise, McLaughlin the slot WR once again had 100 yards.

12-3 now, and depending on the results of the week, many possibilities remain. Chiefs are last.

Ravens beat the Browns 23-20 to clinch the AFC North. The Colts got upset by the Giants, so the division title is officially mine. The Buccaneers won the NFC South beating the Saints 20-14, and the 49ers pulled it off, 30-14 over the Cardinals.

Also, the Patriots upset the Dolphins 28-21. More on everything after the standings.

The Patriots beating the Dolphins really kills me in so many ways. I ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY do not want to face the Patriots, which is how it would currently be as a 3-6 matchup.

I don't have the tiebreaker on Denver or Miami, but I win and either lose, there is a first round bye, which would be amazing. Otherwise, it's the #3 seed for me. Provided I'm the #3, here's how it can play out.

The Colts play the Patriots. The Colts are already in, but if the Patriots win, then the Colts would be the #6, with the Patriots the #5. Meaning I'd face Indy.

If the Patriots lose, the Colts are the #5, and the Chiefs would have the tiebreaker over the Patriots if they won. However, the Chiefs play me. I really wish I had things locked up so I could throw this game.

                          __________________________________________________ __________

As for the NFC, Oddly enough, all 4 divisions are clinched, despite the game saying the 49ers aren't, they are. The first round byes are not clinched.

The Vikings, however, are guaranteed either the #1 or #2. They hold the tiebreaker (Conf Record) over Tampa and the 49ers can NOT top the Vikings, but they can beat the Buccaners. If the Vikings lose, Tampa can naturally take the #1.

If the 49ers were to lose and the Cowboys win their game, the Cowboys would actually take the #3, and the 49ers would get the #4.

The Wild card is fairly simple for the Seahawks and Cardinals, who face each other. The winner is GUARANTEED a playoff spot. If the Seahawks lose, they are eliminated, and the Saints take the other spot regardless. However, if the Cardinals lose AND the Saints lose, Arizona holds the head to head tiebreaker and would still get in.

Teams are playing for their lives.

Re: 2018 Onward: Turning the Houston Texans Into a Winner

I host the Kansas City Chiefs, currently run by my former Dolphin Offensive Coordinator and real life Colts HC Jim Caldwell. In just one year, he's turned them into a playoff contender. The team is essentially "Colts Lite", running the same offense and Cover-2 scheme.

The QB is an interesting story, Logan Axelrod was the #1 overall pick in 2013, taken before me picking Arnez Soriano, to the Falcons. After 3 fairly good years with a bad team, they decided to bench him and drafted Kyle Ragland (Who has done well, to be fair) After sitting two years, he signed with the Chiefs, and has done decently well.

                            QB: Logan Axelrod (92)
                            HB: Tanard Bronson (85)
WR: Dwayne Bowe (90) Maurice Stovall (83)
TE: Thurman Fuller (80) Markeith Jacobs (72)
                            T: Geoff Shaffer (91) Dylan Turner (94)
                            G: Kris Dielman (90) Walt Simon (85)
                            C: Richie Kingston (88)

DE: Derrick Burgess (76) Trent Cole (79)
DT: Athya Rubin (89) Dominik James (84)
LB: Derrick Johnson (90) Tim Olmsted (83) Akin Ayodele (80)
CB: Omar Stone (86) Ray McClover (86)
                            S: Traye Jessup (80) Aaron Nash (84)

                              Week 17 vs Kansas City

On their opening drive, the Chiefs would get just into the red zone but be forced to kick a field goal, making it 3-0. After that, the Texans put together 7 runs for 73 yards, Tanard Mathis striking big on a 50 yard run, his best of the year, to make it 7-3.

But the defenses' early hiccups would happen again, as Tanard Bronson, KC's back, would break off a 70 yard touchdown run, making it 10-7.

But the Texans responded, 8 play, 74 yard drive, ending in a 29 yard touchdown from Withers to Bryant Holyfield, 14-10.

They would trade punts, and KC would end up with it with one minute to go at their own 20, and get aggressive. It backfired, on 3rd down Axelrod threw a terrible pass to dimeback Charles Knight, which Knight would take 29 yards for a touchdown, 21-10 at the half.

The Texans would manage to complete a long pass to get just outside of the red zone in the 3rd but Holyfield would fumble the ball. From that, the Chiefs drove to kick a 49 yard field goal, making it 21-13.

After traded punts, the Texans would throw a bad INT, giving the Chiefs great field position. All they could amount was another 49 yard field goal try, this time McFarland shorted it. The Texans would have a hold on 1st down, leading to a 3 and out.

The Chiefs would get sacked on a 3rd down, making it 4th and long just out of field goal range, and they would punt with 3 minutes to go. But the Texan run game, which had been fairly strong all game, would flop. The Chiefs would get it back with 1:54 left.

They needed 54 yards, it would take 9 plays, but on a 3rd and goal 19 yards out, Axelrod would hit Dwayne Bowe for the touchdown with 12 seconds left. But the Chiefs would make the mistake of trying to run, despite being more successful than most against the Texans. The two point conversion failed, and the Texans survived 21-19.

Withers was 4-6, 89 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. I more or less shut down the passing game after the INT, not wanting to lose on that. Marty-ball almost failed, but I've never lost with under 15 passes.

Mathis had 148 on 22 carries, his best of the year. Holyfield had 86 on 3, plus the fumble.

On the other side, Axelrod has 17-27, 224, 1 TD, 1 INT. Bronson ran for 113 on 22 carries, FAR too much.

So the regular season ends 13-3, certainly a solid result. But would it be enough for a first round bye? And if not, would it be the Patriots or Colts to face in the Wild Card round.

The #3 seed will be mine, the Broncos went into overtime but just overcame the Raiders 28-25 and the Dolphins beat the Jets 34-24. Also, the Patriots upset the Colts in Indy 24-17. So while I get to avoid the Patriots, my consolation prize is the Colts.

In the NFC, the 49ers won over the Bears, and both the Vikings and Buccaneers lost. Tampa lost 24-21 in OT to the lowly Bengals (Eli Manning's last game...boy, going to Cincy worked for him) while the Vikings lost 27-20 to the Bills.

The Cowboys flattened the Saints 35-14, and the Seahawks won the decider 17-14 over the Cardinals. However, the Cardinals still get in.

                                The seedings are as folllows

AFC: Broncos #1, Dolphins #2. I am the #3, and will face the #6 Colts, while the #4 Ravens will face the #5 Patriots.

NFC: Vikings #1, 49ers #2. The #3 Buccaneers will face the #6 Cardinals and the #4 Cowboys will face the #5 Seahawks.

I finished #1 in defense across the board, fewest run and pass yards, and fewest points allowed. #1 run offense, 4th in points scored. All of the in depth stats will be available when I release the Excel sheet at the end of the season.

Also, fun note, Philip Rivers threw 56 (!) touchdown passes in the Mike Martz system. They still missed the playoffs. And my old buddy Norv went 1-15 and the Rams suck again...yet he'll be retained I'm sure. (Or hired by someone else...facepalm)
