      Re: Redskins (HC 09)

I am really kind of shocked at this point to be honest. The team is playing pretty well. I thought that after the first game I was going to see the famous "4th Quarter collapses" all season, but so far, that is the only one.

The next game is against the Cowboys, and it is a biggie. If I can win it, it will achieve 2 goals from the owner, 1 is to win 3 of 4 and 2 is the beat the Cowboys in Week 4. This game is in Dallas, so no pressure there huh?

          Re: Redskins (HC 09)

I am feeling really good about things right now. I was able to end this stretch 3-1 after winning a tough game in Dallas. But it looks like Romo had one of his off days which helped a lot.

A couple of things I have noticed...

          1. LOLB Washington, even though his health was a 79 at the start of the season, it is still a 79. So he is not getting worse, but he is having a great season so far. So I am going to watch him closely.

          2. HB Portis, his health continues to drop, even though I don't let him practice every day. I think Robinson may move into the starting position, just because of health concerns. I will see how things go with contract negotiations which should start after the next game.

              Re: Redskins (HC 09)

That game was a shocker to be honest! But then I saw that Westbrook was out, along with the 2nd RB so they had to rely on Rock Cartwright. Also,, McNabb got hurt the 3rd play and never came back so that helped. I guess the one concern I have is what will happen when I play them next time...

I am starting to see some players start contract negotiations and I want to do a chart to let you see what those look like. I don't see one on here but I think I can make something fairly simple in excel, I will see how it comes out.

Portis is getting worse every week. As you see, his carries are going down, I have him 3rd on the death chart now and am thinking I will need to sign another RB, just in case.

I am carrying 6 WRs so I could sign Cribbs, but not sure how long those numbers will last eithr. Randle El is dropping like a rock with his numbers.

I will update the personnel stuff tomorrow. Hope you are enjoying this. Comments and suggestions welcome!

I will say...there is part of me that wants to play games, but I said I would just sim this...but may need to re-analyze that during pre-season to help them get plays learned.

                  Re: Redskins (HC 09)

So Portis is getting worse so you're sitting him or is he getting knocked out of games? He's not the healthiest guy, but he's kinda tough, I had a Redskins franch where he made it the whole season, but I usually capped his rushes at 15 unless we really needed him - of course in a sim situation you can't do that.

Tynes seems to be having a rough season at kicker - you think about changing there or not too worried about it?

Are you just simming to get through year one faster or are you going to sim every season?

                  good luck!

I actually ran Portis into the ground without him getting hurt lol but I've heard he tends to get nicked up some. I haven't experienced this though.

Tynes seems to be having a rough season at kicker - you think about changing there or not too worried about it?

Are you just simming to get through year one faster or are you going to sim every season?

                        good luck!
As far as Portis goes, I have to put him 2nd on the depth chart to help him make it through the season I think.

I actually just re-signed Tynes. I know he is up and down, but I am going to see what happens with him. If he continues to drop I will look to make changes.

I am going to just sim this game. I don't want to get too in-depth with it before NCAA comes out, but if I just sim it then it is something I will be able to work on when my hand get sore.

                        Thanks! This is getting interesting!

His leg is getting pretty bad, as of last nite he was down to a 67% overall health. Like I said, I am going to have to keep an eye on him.

I'd be interested in your reason for not re-signing Avril. I can understand Rubin-I usually don't resign DTs either, but OLB can be very hard to fill on some paths.

At this point, to be honest, it is money. Right now I have about 2.5 million for next year. I have never quite figured out how to calculate how much it will go up, I know it does, but I just don't know how much.

So that is the only thing holding me up so far. If I can get that figured out, I will sign him.
