I am curious about Performance for the HC though...guess that is part of this new system I have...but since no players actually report to him does it only help the other coaches and not have any direct impact itself, or does it help at all?

My plan is to get Lrning to at least 2 on everyone, then PD, then Intangibles. Then I am going to start on Performance and then get it up to 3 and go back to the others.

My thought was that by targeting the players, I can help the coaches out who are not so strong.

        Free Agency Moves for Redskins

Trade with Jets: HB Clinton Portis (85) 6.8 mill contract, 2009 6th Round (172) and 2010 6th Round pick to the Jets for C Nick Mangold (92). He has a 1 year deal worth 910K. I am going to move some players around and see what I can do with the line, based on how the draft goes.

Trade with Chargers: Acquired MLB Brandon Siler (77/81) from the Chargers for the Redskins 2010 5th Round pick. He has a 3 year, 190 k contract. He has 96% HLTH and LRN of 69% so should help solidify the LB's.

Trade with the Eagles: Acquired Victor Abiamiri (84/87) who is 22 from the Eagles for the Redskins 2009 5th Round (131) and 2009 5th Round (140) picks. He has 95% HLTH and 80% LRN. The owner wanted an LE of over 85, but I am pleased with this trade.

My Salary Cap has dropped to 11.9 million, but QB Collins has not retired yet, so that might help as well. I can also trade RB Betts I think if I can find an upgrade and have a good chance of fixing things in the draft.

I am finding some WRs that I think will fit in good with my schemes and the Mock Draft has me taking 1 with the 12th pick. It looks like that if I completely ignore the picks and suggestions I may be able to get Ozzie Jones and Wyoming in this draft. But that will not help me address some of the other needs I have.

What do you think? If I can get those 2 should I go for it and try to address the rest of the o-line next year?

On Performance, I think the HC teaches all players but his influence is lessened because he doesn't see the players all the time. Still, over time he'll teach those players Performance.

I would definitely go after Ozzie. Wyoming is good too, but it depends on what you're looking for. He comes pretty cheap and you have him under contract for 4 years. He would also be an upgrade over Jason Campbell. I don't think you could go wrong picking both of them, they've played well for me in the past.

              Re: Redskins (HC 09)

I think that is where my rule of not using draft sheets can come onto play against me. I want a Field-general and a moves rb with some good power and strength. Just going on the limited numbers I have here makes it hard to make that choice. I have spent most of the day looking at different players and focusing on the LRN and Durability. I hope this will help me make it through the draft in 1 piece....

Oh, I got a +10 Media Boost from an online pole. This is a very good thing, my owner's approval is at "0"!. This is not good!

I also signed K Serna to a 2 year deal, for $3.4 Mill and a 500k bonus. Tynes was traded to the Lions for their 2009 5th Rnd (142) and 2010 7th Round picks.

I finally got life taken care of (septic tank messed up!) and have crunched all of the scouting numbers so I think I am ready for this draft.

I am going to try to trade the #12 pick away and still be able to get Jones and Wyoming. If it is a choice between them, I will take Jones though. Campbell didn't do too bad last year, but I definitely need some help at RB.

I hope to get this finished in the next 2 days...depending on the weather I may get it taken care of tomorrow.

Let's see-1-12 is 1200 points. Optimum value would be to trade down to 1-25 and get that pick, 2-57, and 3-89-worth 1195 points. Above 25 you'll get more value back, below you won't get as much. You should be able to get Jones at 25, but you might need to trade up.I really like that draft value chart-you can probably tell.

                    Re: Redskins (HC 09)

The Redskins were always my favorite team in this game. I'll have to try and keep up with this franchise.

Regarding performance for the HC, I always noticed a big jump in my teams when I put points into that. It just seemed to always have a serious impact on how my players played come gameday to the point that I stopped progressing it past 3. It just started to feel too overpowered, but all I have to back that up is how the games felt.

Then again, I played my games mostly, so it'll be interesting to see how big an impact it might have when you're simming.

It's nice to see people still active with this game after all this time. Shame they never bothered to do another HC game.

                      Re: Redskins (HC 09)

I like that chart too, it just stinks when you cant get anyone to trade with you!. I am actually going to try and trade #12 down to #15-18 range and then try to trade that one to get to around #22-25. I hope that will give me some more picks in the mid rounds.

I think I have found some REALLY good players, but they are in Rounds 3-4 so it would be nice to be able to get some more picks there.

I think I messed up with my trades though, except for Mangold. The players I got were good, but it looks like this draft has some good depth at the positions I needed help with. The CB class is weak though in guys with good mc skills.

But to be honest, it looks like I am going to be targeting the sleepers more than anything. My GM was awful so I don't have hardly any info on the rookies. I hope this year goes better.

This one is tough with the older players, but it has been fun so far, thanks for following! I think I am going to get all of the other attributes up to 3 (PD, Intan, and LRN) for each position, then move Performance. Maybe, with just simming, those will be the ones that have the biggest impact.

I have to say, I LOVE this game. I am excited about NCAA this year and Madden, but this is the one I keep every year and come back to. I have even been playing Tiger Woods 12, LOL. But this is the one game I have kept and always play.

I have found nothing to match the depth and it is easy on my hands. I am 49 and have arthritis in my hand (old injury). So this one works on my brain...not my hands.

Sorry for the long post...Lets do a draft now!

I am half-way through the pre-season and am considering some major roster moves. I am looking at the numbers of either trading or cutting WR Randle El and MLB Fletcher-Baker. LOLB Washington is also on the trade block. I got VERY lucky with the OLBs I drafted and with Avril on a long-term deal, Washington's declining health means he may be gone.

I don't like to trade players on the last year of their contract, but at the same time, I like even less letting a good player just go at the end of his contract. To me, that is getting nothing for the player, and if I have no desire to re-sign them, I guess why not get something for them.

On a side note, Eric Mangini from the Jets is impossible to trade with! I have been trying to trade LG Wade (76 HLTH) so far and he wont negotiate at all! He makes one offer, then leaves.
