Re: Not to small to play football: Maestro's Story
With the way Maestro had been strutting around campus after the win over Virginia you'd think he was seven feet tall and toting a big ol' Heisman trophy under his arm instead of a tiny scrap of paper that he used to take his notes on. The next opponent for the 'Canes wouldn't be a team of the likes they had encountered. Why, God himself quarterbacked this next team that they were slated to battle on Saturday night in primetime on ABC. It would be Maestro's first game against FSU. He had never been to Tallahassee, had never been to the Panhandle, had never been to Southwest Georgia, but he hated the FSU culture there, and he hated in all over the rest of the United States, and even Canada. All the scattered alumni, and bandwagoners, he all wanted them to see on national television the wrath upon which he would unleash upon their beloved Seminoles. Well...maybe next year.
Maestro had some early struggles early getting bowled over by the FSU fullback on a goalline situation. He also failed to punch it in on a goal line situation. He was never able to find his rhythm on offense. Bobby Bowden must have had his players chasing mice around the pracitce in preparation for Maestro (he did). Every time Maestro touched the ball there was nothing but garnet and gold in all directions. It didn't help that Lance Leggett was suspended after being discovered to be involved in some sort of academic fraud scam. Luckily the woefully underachieving Ryan Moore stepped up his play, and John Peattie was money, both contributing largely to a 38-12 victory for Miami and thus avenging last year's embarrassing loss at Doak. So maybe it was just the Maestro magic that helped secure the victory? Maestro did discover a new talent during his struggles. Coach Pagnici stuck him at fullback and the little man proved that he can block like the best of them! In case you were wondering, his Almighty was knocked out of the game in the first quarter by Willie Williams. I can't quite decide if that could be considered ironic or not. The line of Maestro against FSU, 3 tackles, 20 carries for 40 yards, and 2 pancakes that I can't believe I didn't see so I don't have a pic!!!
Maestro fais to hold the line early on
This is pretty much the story of Maestro's twenty carries
Maestro gets his first crack at leadblocking

Re: Not to small to play football: Maestro's Story
I wonder what the Heisman presentation would look like if Maestro won it? Wonder if the trophy would just like be floating in mid-air with him under it? Haha, anyways good luck.Comment
