    Keys VS Lions

1.) We're facing one of the great NFL corners this week in Dre' Bly. Be careful.

2.) We should let Jake Delhomme get in a rhythm vs their secondary. He could have a great day against these guys.

3.) Their HB, Kevin Jones, is probably not going to play. That allows us to shut down their passing game.

    Key Matchups

    Jeff Garcia vs Carolina Secondary
Charles Rogers/Mike Williams vs Ken Lucas/Ricky Manning
Roy Williams vs Dante Wesley (3rd CB)
    Shaun Rogers vs Tutan Reyes
Earl Holmes vs DeShaun Foster/Stephen Davis

      Rookie Sparks Comeback Against Lions
Stefan LeFors comes in and plays well against Detroit

Detroit, MI- The 4-1 Panthers came into snowy Detroit to face the 2-2 Lions, luckily the Lions play in a beautiful indoor facility so both teams and the fans didn't have to play in the freezing weather. The Panthers were struggling all throughout the first half and it looked as if the Lions could pull off a great upset. Jake Delhomme struggled and threw 2 interceptions being subbed out at halftime, one interception was to Dre Bly in the endzone. Stefan LeFors came in to play the 2nd half and on his first two passes, he got two touchdowns. His first throw was on a drag over the middle to Steve Smith who got a block and was gone. Then he lobbed one into the endzone to Rod Gardner after a Julius Peppers INT. Julius Peppers also knocked Jeff Garcia out on the first Lions possession with a sack, Garcia suffered a pinched nerve and will be back next week.

                  Panthers Win Defensive Battle
Carolina on the winning side of a 7-0 score

Charlotte, NC- Without Daunte Culpepper, the Minnesota Vikings were not favored in this matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Offense was very scarce in this game, both defenses were incredible and shut down their opponents' strengths. This game was scoreless going into the fourth quarter and looked to be heading to overtime at 0-0, but Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith hooked up for a touchdown just before the 2 minute warning. The Panthers defense held on to the lead and completed the shutout of the Minnesota Vikings. Jake Delhomme was very accurate and looked mostly into short gains instead of deeper passes, he went 20/31 for 165 yards with a touchdown and an interception. DeShaun Foster was held under 100 yards, rushing 18 times for 57 yards. Steve Smith had 9 receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown, to lead all receivers. Dan Morgan led all defenders with 11 tackles.

                        Keys VS Buccaneers

1.) Brian Kelly could take one to the house if he picks it off. Don't throw outs near him.

2.) Jake Delhomme should be able to dominate their secondary. Keep them guessing all day.

3.) Derrick Brooks is a great OLB. Stay away from him on the outside runs.

                          Another Close One For Carolina
                          Panthers Beat Division Rival Bucs

Tampa Bay, FL- The Carolina Panthers came into Raymond James Stadium expecting a very close competitive game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The first quarter went by very fast with both teams struggling on offense and playing very tough defense. Jake Delhomme had a very accurate game against Tampa, only missing 4 pass attempts. The only touchdown of the game was a great pass from Jake Delhomme to Keary Colbert, they had no timeouts just before half and were in the no huddle when Jake lobbed it to Colbert in the endzone who out jumped Ronde Barber. The rest of the of scoring was a field goal each. The Panthers received some bad news in the 2nd half though, Ricky Manning broke his collarbone on a tackle and will miss the rest of the season. Carolina will have to look to Free Agency to replace Manning and Gamble.
