      Gamecocks Shock the Bulldogs
      QB Controversey Starts

Athens, GA- The Georgia Bulldogs were ranked #11 coming into this home game against the Gamecocks and were favored to win. With Blake Mitchell at the helm, South Carolina looks lost on offense and thats what happened in the first half, tons of incompletions and bad passes. Steve Spurrier went with redshirt freshman Antonio Heffner, who had 10 incompletions, but made some great throws and had the speed to escape the pass rush and get out of the pocket. Wide Receiver Syvelle Newton broke the single-game receiving yard record for South Carolina, with 230 yards. He was the only wideout to actually catch the ball and make plays afterward, this is a severe issue for South Carolina and the other WRs will need to step up. Ricardo Hurley led the Gamecocks on D with 7 tackles and a forced fumble. Ko Simpson was close behind him, with 5 tackles and a forced fumble as well. South Carolina shocked Georgia, winning 34-24.

A couple of things about the roster. The OL and DL packages have been changing week to week. Andy Boyd is out for the year. There has been some shuffling at the DB positions. If you are interested, I can let you know who played when.

Oh ok, I didn't know about Boyd's injury, he was still on the depth chart on my rosters. I don't really use my TE's too much as it is lol.

                          Gamecocks Beat Down Trojans
                          Heffner Shines Again

Columbia, SC- The now ranked South Carolina Gamecocks welcomed the Troy Trojans into Columbia. With Antonio Heffner being named the started for the rest of the year, barring any injuries, he looked exceptional once again. South Carolina started out very slow, and turned the ball over 3 times in the first half, and one of the turnovers, a fumble led to a 78 yard return by Bernard Davis. After the fumble return for a touchdown, the Gamecocks started to show why they have one of the most dangerous offenses in the nation. The Gamecocks scored 45 unanswered points and buried the Trojans through the air. Antonio Heffner was 19/32, for 379 yards, 4 touchdowns, and an interception. Syvelle Newton was his favorite target again, catching 7 passes for 137 yards and 3 touchdowns. Ko Simpson led the 'Cocks on D with 7 tackles and an interception. South Carolina won this one, 45-10.
