"I was pretty pleased with the defense...under 100 yards rushing, five sacks...we gave up four touchdowns in the air, but it was a good game for us. The turnovers put us in bad field position, and we gave up points...but we'll improve." -Defensive Coordinator John Woodlock.

Such wise words from a wise man!

    Keep it up, man.

"This first half offense blows ***. It's like pulling an anchor out of a horses *** trying to get these guys motivated just to score in the first half. I'm going to have a heart attack if I have to take another late 4th quarter comeback." - Offensive Coordinator Tyler Coleman

Aggies face heartbreak and high tension vs. Wildcats

MANHATTAN, KS-- After the celebration was over, the reality set in in the locker room, and the mood became very somber.

Reggie McNeal's career at Texas A&M came to an early and tragic end in Manhattan against the Kansas State Wildcats. Late in the first quarter McNeal was hit from behind, lost the ball, and KSU returned it for a score. After he lost it, McNeal was driven into the ground onto his shoulder. He got up slowly, holding his shoulder, with his arm dangling limply at his side.

X-rays showed a tear in the shoulder muscle. The outlook is bleak, as McNeal is expected to miss 8-12 weeks. There is only a slim possibility that he could be back for the bowl game--a game that was guaranteed with Stephen McGee's miracle 49 yard touchdown to Jason Carter with 1:15 left, giving the Aggies a 38-34 win in a game that saw A&M dominate in first downs (17-10) and yards (420-215). But the Aggies lost four fumbles, and that allowed KSU to hang around and eventually erase a 31-17 deficit.

"This was obviously a very tough game to deal with...we lost our leader, our offensive captain and our best player...Reggie is a special talent, and I feel so bad for him...I know how big his heart is, and I know how terrible he feels now...but we've got to try to move on, this team isn't going to give up. We've got to rally around for Reggie, and make this season something special." -Head Coach Brian Kudron.

"...This is really, really tough on all of us. Stephen McGee looked great out there, but the loss of Reggie is already being felt...we couldn't run the ball at all out there, Reggie's athleticism helped us stretch the field and open it up for the run. Stephen can run, but he's just not the athlete that Reggie is...we could be in for some trouble." -Offensive Coordinator Tyler Coleman.

"This was our best defensive performance, despite the 34 points. We were lights out in the first half, and pretty much lights out in the second...when the offense consistently turns the ball over, of course we're going to give up points..." -Defensive Coordinator John Woodlock.

In their final game before the huge trio of Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Texas to wrap up the season, the Aggies host Iowa State at Kyle Field next week.

Aggies are violently brought back to earth by Cyclones

COLLEGE STATION, TX--Every great team faces adversity and bumps in the road before obtaining greatness.

Well the Aggies just hit a huge pothole, as Iowa State invaded Kyle Field and blew A&M out of the water, dominating them with 322 rushing yards in a 52-31 rout in a game that wasn't as close as the final score showed. ISU pulled their starters after taking a 49-17 lead in the third.

Afterward the bloodletting was over, the coaches tried to show strength in the face of adversity, but it was obvious that there were some frazzled feelings.

"Well, I don't know what to say, really. We just flat out sucked. In every aspect of the game. Every single aspect, and we got our doors blown off in our house. If we play ANYTHING like this in any of the next three games, we will be embarrassed." -Head Coach Brian Kudron.

"We've got issues at the QB position...we've got issues at the WR position...we've got issues on the offensive line...we've got a lot of issues." -Offensive Coordinator Tyler Coleman.

"Vast improvements are needed." -Defensive Coordinator John Woodlock.

The Aggies have no time to wallow in self-pity though, as their season is suddenly teetering on the brink of collapse, and they face a daunting task next week, taking on the gatling gun offense of Texas Tech in Lubbock.

Defensive raid: Aggies' defense disarms Texas Tech's gatling gun

LUBBOCK, TX--A week after allowing 52 points at home in a 3-touchdown loss, everyone thought the Red Raiders would roll Texas A&M all the way back to College Station.

But the Aggies stunned the college football world, holding Texas Tech to one yard in the first quarter with no first downs, and 1 first down and 9 yards of offense in the first half, and Stephen McGee tore the Raiders' defense apart, as A&M dominated from start to finish, 42-14.

The Aggies outgained Tech in total offense 459-199, holding Texas Tech nearly 400 yards below their 594 yard average, which had been far and away the best in Division I-A.

Taurean Henderson had a 74 yard touchdown run, but had a net gain of 66 yards, and the Raiders had 40 as a team. QB Cody Hodges was out for Tech, but their offense would've been dominated either way, as the Aggies blitzed from all different angles on over 70% of Tech's offensive plays, sacking redshirt freshman Graham Harrell five times.

"Wow. I'm at a loss. I knew we'd come out invigorated, especially after last week, but not even I expected this. This was an all-around perfect performance. It isn't gonna get much better than this, but we've got two huge games to go. This was an unbelievable step for this team." -Head Coach Brian Kudron.

"Stephen (McGee) was incredible for us today. Five touchdowns total, 266 total yards. Courtney Lewis had 150 on the ground, 93 in the air. Beautiful performance out there...I'm really proud of the offense. We're really clicking now." -Offensive Coordinator Tyler Coleman.

                          "." -Defensive Coordinator John Woodlock.

The Aggies defense now turns its attention toward super sophomore Adrian Peterson, taking on the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman.
