        Oklahoma-Memorial Stadium
        Norman, OK
        November 12, 2005

Turnovers doom Aggies' Big 12 title hopes in Norman

NORMAN, OK--The defense stepped up repeatedly for the Aggies. And it should've been enough, considering Oklahoma RB Adrian Peterson was suspended, and WRs Travis Wilson and Jejuan Rankins were out with injuries.

When Stephen McGee threw an interception in his own territory, the Aggies' defense clamped down and forced a FG.

Down 20-14, the Aggies crushed Oklahoma quarterback Paul Thompson at his five yard line, giving them one more chance. The Aggies went four and out.

As Oklahoma drove into A&M territory it looked like it would be over, when defensive captain Jaxson Appel stripped the ball from Kejuan Jones, and the Aggies had one final chance.

But on 4th and 2 at the Oklahoma 40, the Aggies ran an option, and Courtney Lewis was swarmed by the defense at the 42, and the Sooners ended Texas A&M's Big 12 title hopes, clinching the South Division for Texas with a 20-14 win.

"Well, it's a learning process...the defense played great, they only allowed ten points...you can see all the mistakes we made...Stephen's one pass into the flat was picked and returned for a score...he threw two interceptions in the redzone, including one in the endzone. Our defense did what they had to do, we just couldn't execute on offense when it mattered. I feel bad for those kids, but although Texas has the division won, that doesn't mean we're going to just roll over and die against them." -Head Coach Brian Kudron.

"*Sigh*...As awesome as Stephen was last week, he was just bad today...he's still a youngster, he's still learning...it's regrettable that he has to learn like this, when we still had title chances, but we gotta move on, the best team on our schedule is coming into our house soon, and their defense is awesome. We gotta be ready." -Offensive Coordinator Tyler Coleman.

"I liked what the defense did out there, 4 more sacks, a big turnover that gave us a chance to win at the end...we looked a little shaky in the first quarter, but the offense didn't give us much to work with...Vince Young's coming in in a couple weeks, and we've got a helluva lot of work to do if we wanna win." -Defensive Coordinator John Woodlock.

The Aggies have 13 days to prepare for their annual showdown with the Longhorns on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Texas has beaten the Aggies five straight times, and the closest of the five was last year's 13 point win for the Longhorns.

Young outshines McGee as Texas outlasts A&M in triple OT classic

COLLEGE STATION, TX--Through the first half, the Aggies had #4 Texas bogged down, they had super-athlete Vince Young contained.

But in the second half, the Aggies' defense just ran out of steam.

Stephen McGee accounted for 470 yards and SEVEN touchdowns, but was beaten as Vince Young accounted for 378 yards and SIX touchdowns, and McGee was tripped up on a two-point conversion in the third OT, and Texas escaped College Station with a 53-51 win, their sixth straight triumph over the Aggies.

The loss dropped the Aggies to 7-4, and the coaching staff was very dejected afterwards.

"Our kids played so hard out there today...the defense did everything it could, they were just better than us...Vince Young is a supreme athlete, and he showed it out there today...I'm proud of the effort our kids gave out there today, and although it hurts like hell to lose, I know that we're all going to learn from this and be better for it." -Head Coach Brian Kudron.

"Ya know, what can you say? Our quarterback scored seven touchdowns. Seven. And we lost. Stephen left his heart out there on the field, and we came up two yards short. I don't want anyone to blame Stephen for not converting the last play. That's on me, I should've called a better play. Our offense was unstoppable today...until the very end." -Offensive Coordinator Tyler Coleman.

"I accept full responsibility for today's loss...the offense did everything right. You should never lose a game when you score 51 points...we played great in the first half, but Vince's athleticism just outdid us in the 2nd half and OT...our guys were sucking wind in the OT, and you could see it on Vince's face. He knew he had us beat, and he beat us." -Defensive Coordinator John Woodlock.

The Aggies figure to have roughly a month off, as their bowl bid will probably place somewhere in late December, a couple days after Christmas.

                          Tyler, you're such a cheeser.

Courtney Lewis had 10 catches for 190 yards?!

                          Vince Young is a bitch.
