Ya know, I really hate these types of games. A win by a blowout feels almost.....dirty. I would love for every game to be decided by 10 points or less, but I understand that even with the best sliders flukes will happen. Besides all of my guys, even the bench warmers, being on a tear all night long, there was one main reason why my team won by such a large margin: the 2-3 Matchup Zone. Beyond a doubt this is the worst defense known to man because it is the easiest to exploit. My team's plays have a lot of movement off the ball handler. Because of this, the 2-3 Matchup Zone is constantly moving out of the zone positions, then hurrying back into the zone position, then doing it all over again. It opens up dozens of lanes that the guards can drive a Mack truck through and draw fouls. TCU had 20 fouls total in the game, 12 in the second half. Most of their starters weren't on the floor for more than 8-10 minutes because of this. And since they had their weaker guys in, my starters were able to score at will. The score at halftime was 46-36 (this with my starters sitting between 6-8 minutes each), and by the 10 minute mark in the second half I was up by 30 and had my starters on the bench to stay (they averaged 18.8 minutes on the floor). Even with my poor players in there we got up by as much as 37 with 8 minutes left. Then TCU made a small run but were unable to decrease the lead to less than 27 for the rest of the game. I would've hated to see what the final score would've been had my starters gotten their usual amount of playing time (between 27-32 minutes a game).
Now, keep in mind that this is, like I said, nothing but a fluke. Piper's sliders are still the best out there for coach mode (and are not bad for normal games either) and a game like this will happen with ANY slider set sometime or another. Combine that with the simplicity of exploiting a horrible defense and that sometime turned out to be now
