Are those the real names of the LIU players or did you have the Comp generate names? I am curious because I also started an LIU dynasty. I am currently 11-5 and sit atop the conference at 5-1. I play 20 min halves on All Conference.

Long Island University Earns Northeastern Conference Automatic Bid:

AP-New York- The Long Island University Blackbirds earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament by defeating the seventh seeded Bridgeport Tech Ducks 103-79 for the Northeastern Conference Tournament Championship. Bridgeport Tech raced out to an early 14-0 lead by forcing eight early Blackbird turnovers. The Ducks held leads of 14-0 and 28-10 before LIU tied the score at 32-32 with just over nine minutes remaining in the first half. LIU never trailed after a that, scoring over one hundred points for only the second time this season.

Senior Raoul Spencer scored a career-high 38 points, including 10 straight at one point to help erase an 18 point deficit, on his way to earning NEC Tournament MVP. Spencer averaged 25.7 ppg to spark LIU's run through the tournament. Forwards Shane Porter and Al Davenport each had 16 points and reserve guard Russell Grady added 11 points. Bridgeport Tech Junior center Christopher Wagner led all Ducks with 18 before leaving six minutes into the second half with a sprained wrist.

The Blackbirds await the NCAA Tournament Selection Show to see who they will face in the Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament.

Cool, I had the names generated as well. Right now my only conference loss is to UMBC 87-86. They hit a 3 midway between the 3 point line and half court with .6 seconds left. An unbelievable shot to say the least, but I spanked them in the rematch 3 games later 91-69.

NEC Champ LIU Blackbirds to Face Defending National Champion Maryland Terrapins in Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament:

After winning the Northeast Confernece automatic bid in dominating fashion The Long Island University Blackbirds (22-8) are excited to be playing in the NCAA Tournament as a number 14 seed in the South Region. However, they are a little anxious about their first round opponent--third seeded defending National Champion Maryland. The reigning Champion Terrapins (22-8) are coming off another strong season in which they finished second to Duke in the ACC.

"If you're going to win any games as a lower [14] seed in this tournament you're going to have to beat some really good basketball teams," says LIU Coach Brian Keller. "We get Maryland, which definitely adds a different perspective for our players with them [Maryland] being the defending National Champions. I think it takes a lot of pressure off our guys. They're the National Champions. They're supposed to beat us."

                  Key Players:
                  Maryland Terrapins:
PG-SR. Steve Blake (18.8 ppg 6.6 apg) lone starter from '02 championship team. One of the top PG's in the country. One of only 4 players to record over 1000 career assists.

SG-SR. Drew Nicholas (13.8 ppg) great shooter in the mold of Juan Dixon, However did not score as much as expected in balanced Terp offense.

SF-JR.Jamar Smith (15.5 ppg) Juco transfer second in scoring for Terps.

PF- SR.Ryan Randle (10.3 ppg 7.7 rpg) last years Juco transfer. physical under the boards.

C- SR.Tahj Holden (14.5 ppg 9.6 rpg) Terps leading rebounder and third leading scorer.

                  LIU Blackbirds:
PG-JR. Lucas Sutton (13.6 ppg, 5.8 apg) plays both guard spots. will need to limit turnovers and focus the offense in order for an LIU upset.

SG-SR. Raoul Spencer (17.0 ppg) NEC Tournament MVP, and Second Team All-NEC. LIU will need him to continue his 25 ppg average from the NEC Tournament.

SF-Isaiah McIntyre (15.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg) 3rd team All-NEC. Quiet in the conference tournament. Always defends opposing teams best player.

PF-SR. Shane Porter (9.7 ppg 5.9 rpg) best defender and rebounder. Will have to keep larger Terp frontcourt off the boards.

C-FR. Al Davenport (7.1 ppg, 4.5 rpg) came on strong at the end of the season averaging 15.0 ppg and 10.0 rpg in the conference tournament.

                  Bench:
C-Desmon Bruthelieus (11.5 ppg, 8.3 rpg) much needed third big man to match up with talented Maryland frontcourt.

Terps Edge LIU 101-96-Move on to Secound Round:

AP-WAshington, DC- Fourteen seed Long Island University gave defending National Champion Maryalnd all it could handle for forty minutes before falling to the Terps 101-96. Senior point guard Steve Blake, the lone returning starter from last years championship team was too much for the blackbirds scoring 29 points and dishing out 6 assists.
Senior center Tahj Holden had game highs of 31 points and 16 rebounds and Junior small forward Jamar Smith finished with 18 points.

"He [Blake] and [Tahj] Holden showed everyone why Maryland can win it all again. We didn't have an answer for either of them," said LIU Coach Brian Keller. "I think our kids played one heck of a game. To come and play the defending Champs on what amounts to their second home floor [Washington's MCI Center] and still be in the game after 39 minutes says a whole lot about the heart of our team".

Maryland's lead never stretched to greater than eight points until witha little over thirteen minutes remaining in the game a series of Blackbird turnovers helped the Terrapins build a sixteen point advantage. "I told our players at halftime keep it close and you'll give yourselves a chance to win this game. And thats what we did. They just had a little too much," said Keller.

"That's a very good basketball team we beat out there today," commented Maryland Head Coach Gary Williams. "We did an excellent job of fighting off that late run-Drew [Nicholas] got us what? Four baskets in a row down the stretch".

LIU got 30 points from Senior shooting guard Raoul Spencer and 18 from Senior center Desmon Buithelieus. Freshman forward Al Davenport finished a strong season with 18 points.

Yes, outstanding work UMD! Your write-ups are very well done and enjoyable to read.

Wasn't it you that was saying you had a stat tracker you downloaded from somewhere for NCAA Football 2003? I created a post below trying to find out what it was and where it was.

Do you have one like that for CB2K3 also, or do you keep the stats manually?
