        Re: Wisconsin Badgers (360)

        Instant Classic

Like many games during this year for Wisconsin, the game started out with a tight first half that Wisconsin take a 13-10 lead into half time only to find themselves trading score for score with the Illini. QB Brasic spent most of the day torching the Wisconsin secondary as he threw for 417 yards and three touchdowns that saw receivers pulling away from the Wisconsin secondary as if they were running in slow motion.

The usually solid running back PJ Hill seems to be slowing down as the season carries on as he found himself grinding out his hundred yard game on a punishing 26 carries, a high for the season. QB John Stocco would contribute three touchdown passes of his own though he would also throw two picks, the last of which threatened to erase any chance the Badgers had of winning till backup linebacker Jammar Crane stepped in front of an errant, pass allowing the Badgers to go downfield for the game winning score.

        Final Score
        Illinois 45 Wisconsin 47

        Illinois
        Brasic 18/35 417 yards 3TD 2 INT
        Thomas 8 carries 88 yards 1 TD
        McPhearson 6 receptions 171 yards 1 TD
        Warren 5 receptions 124 yards 1 TD
        Leman 7 tackles

        Wisconsin
        John Stocco 17/28 164 yards 3 TD 2 INT
PJ Hill 26 carrries 103 yards 1 TD
Jonathan Casillas 5 tackles 2 FR

          Recruiting Update

More good news for the Badger faithful on the recruiting front. Wide receier Antonio Rogers of Boardman, Ohio put down a solid verbal committ following the Illini game. With his 4.31 speed and 40" vertical he'll bring an added explosive element to the offense assuming he can be brought up to speed. Rogers was joined by tight end Paul Motte, a three star recruit from Texas. Both stated that the reason for their solid verbals was the status of Wisconsin's program and where Coach Bolden has it going.

Still on the board are CB Austin Henderson who will be attending the Penn State game and safety Robbie Shuler who has just bumped Wisconsin up to the top of his top five list over LSU. These two recruits could be very crucial to bolstering a struggling Wisconsin secondary.

              Re: Wisconsin Badgers (360)

Well, I'll be moving into my college dorm tomorrow so I kind've rushed to finish the last 3 regular season games, so their won't be any flashy recaps, stat breakdowns or pictures to follow them up. Also, after I move in, evidently I won't have a monitor.. (I get mouse, keyboard, and tower but no effing monitor....) so I might be hard for me to get some more updates in.

              Game scores:

Wisconsin 65 Penn St 72 (no comments please....)

              Wisconsin 34 Iowa 29

              Wisconsin 42 Buffalo 21

Evidently Cover 2 Man prevents long *** pass completions >_<.

Wisconsin takes the Big 10 Championship and withl meet #9 Cal (10-2) in the Rose Bowl.

                Re: Wisconsin Badgers (360)

                It Smells of Roses

It's the Rose Bowl. A member of the prestigous Bowl Championship Series games that traditionally hosts the top dog in the Big 10 and Pac-10 while not hosting the national championship game it self. This years game would play host to the #14 ranked Wisconsin Badgers (11-) and the #9 ranked California Golden Bears (10-2).

This game was billed as a duel of running backs, with the explosive Marshawn Lynch, who despite an injury marred season still averaged 6.2 yards per carry and had combined for 15 total touchdowns. Not to be outdone, wisconsin would bring to the table upstart red shirt freshman HB PJ Hill to the table. In his first year of starting Hill would rush for over 1400 yards and score 17 times on the ground with a 6.3 yards per carry average.

With Coach Bolden preaching on former Wisconsin head coach; Berry Alvarez's 3-0 Rose Bowl record and a need to preserve that streak two players found the heart and determination to gut it out through injuries that had ailed them for a good part of season. Junior center Marcus Coleman and true freshman wide receiver Lance Hendricks would both gut it out and play despite still recovering from pectoral and abdominal tears respectively. This game would also be the final return for defensive team captain and starting strong safety Joe Stellmacher who suffered an abdominal tear himself earlier in the year.

With the emotion so high for a game of this magnitudeit seemed as if Wisconsin had gotten itself over worked up in pre-season as Cal QB Steve Levy came out and through two touchdown strikes to stud sophmore wide receiver DeSean Jackson and fellow receiver Johnson(though the extra points would both be blocked). Down 12-0, a young, but experienced Badger team had faced this kind of situation before and responded with a roar against the Cal faithful that had the stadium rocking.

From that point on, the usually pourus Badger defense put the clamps on quarterback Steve Levy, baiting him into bad decisions that led to four interceptions while also pounding running back Marshawn Lynch at every chance, holding the elusive runner to only 59 yards on three carries. Lynch's counterpart, PJ Hill would see a hundred yards in the first half alone on 12 carries before pulling a hamstring on the first play of the third quarter.

With their foot on the Golden Bear throat the Badgers continued to push harder for the break through as backup Lance Smith would break the 100 yard mark as well while tacking on a score along with backs up Rowan and Walker. Cal would fail to sniff the endzone again till early in the fourth and by then it was already to late and the fight had left the Golden Bears. The Wisconsin Badgers would be smelling of roses while bring their Rose Bowl win streak up to 4-0.

                Final Score

                        Your New Wisconsin Badgers!

                        MLB Julius Strong
                        *****
                        6'3 216
Notes: A top notch linebacker from who got out of Ohio State's own backyard. Despite being undersize he's an explosive player with enough speed to roam sideline to sideline. Expect him to start come day one.

                        MLB Bennie Allen
                        *****
                        6'0 239
Notes: Built more stockier than fellow MLB recruit Juluis Strong, Allen lacks the explosiveness of Julius (not to be mistaken with slowness). With Allen's signings and the Badgers having signed a new defensive coordinator there are rumors that the team might utilize a 3-4 look during the season to make use of their depth at LB.

                        RT Jeremiah Thomas
                        ****
                        6'5 322
Notes: A solid lineman and the top recruit out of Wisconsin, expect him to fill in right where Joe Thomas left off minus the All-American accolades.

                        ATH Scott McGruder
                        ****
                        6'2 200
Notes: Quite the athlete with arm strength and accuracy that matches any of the fellow quarter backs have earned him the chance to compete for a starting job come the fall.

                        Ath David Bradford
                        ****
                        5'11 200
Notes: A star all over the field, Bradford shined especially at running back. Unfortunately the Badgers have three sophmores at the position that would've very likely buried him all the way down at the bottom of depth chart. Bradford made the decision to try his luck at wide receiver with at least half of the core being seniors this upcoming season.

                        WR Lonnie Williams
                        ****
                        6'0 180
Notes: An explosive receiver who could stand to put on a little weight. Brings even more explosiveness to the offense though it is likely he'll red shirt this year

                        WRAntonio Rogers
                        ****
                        6'0 191
Notes: Almost a clone of fellow recruit Lonnie Williams expect a bit more well built. Also like Lonnie, it can be expected that Antonio will take a red shirt and attempt to establish himself the following year as the face of a young and up start receiving core.

                        SS Robbie Shuler
                        ****
                        6'6 199
Notes: At 6'6 he should make an imposing sight at strong safety. Unfortunately he looks like a stick and due to a lack of depth will be going through a trial by fire as he will likely get the start at strong safety.

                        QB Will Johnson
                        ****
                        5'11 182
Notes: Sports the best arm of all the QBs by a very slight margin and has mobility in the pocket. Unfortunately he finds himself buried low on the depth chart and will have to work his way up from a red shirt. Shows great promise and upside.

                        CB Buck Leonard
                        ***
                        6'2 185
Notes: A sizeable corner back with very nice speed that will require time to develop a possibly a red shirt.

                              Re: Starting Lineup

Well, you could pretty much say this thread is dead and done for (you can thank college football for that). However, I have still been playing the dynasty and just recently finished year 2 with a 13-0 record (without a shot the National Title). Overall a successful year with freshman that came up big QB Scott McGruder, LT Jeremiah Thomas, all three of my freshman MLB, and even 71 OVR SS Robbie Shuler.

And in the off-season the team almost went to hell with everybody on my O-Line attempting to leave except for Jeremiah Thomas. My Center would graduate but I did manage to talk everybody but my RT into staying and luckily I have a capable backup to replace him. I also had a big of trouble with my backfield as Soph(RS) HB PJ Hill wanted to turn pro after a down, but still productive year and his back up, true sophmore Lance Smith thought it'd be wise to transfer, sitout and red shirt, and still have two more years of eligibility to use his speed and burn college defenses. They're both back in the Cardinal red for next season.

The wide receiver core would also find itself in trouble with every player graduating except for soon-to-be junior Lance Hendrix. He'll be joined this year by three redshirt freshman and another true freshman.

On the defensive side of the ball, the most turnover came from graduating three out of a possible four defensive tackels, leaving me with one that got minimal playing time in his first two seasons yet showed enough athleticism that he also saw time at the middle linebacker position (Odd, I know). The secondary and linebackers however return every starter for one more shot at a national title.

Recruiting was mostly a depth building affair that provided two more defensive tackle, about 3 backups on the o-line (though one will end up starting), two running backs and another speedy linebacker. The prized recruit was a Juco Sophmore athlete out of Texas who'll be redshirting his first year. He rated well at HB, WR, TE, DE, OLB, CB, and both safety positions. His final position was chosen as FS since there were two seniors alraedy there and he brings an injection of speed to the secondary.
