Oral Roberts Golden Eagles - Year 1 (2006-2007)
Oral Roberts (0-0) at Loyola Marymount (0-0)
Los Angeles, CA - The Golden Eagles dominent defensive ways reek havoc on Loyola Marymount right from tip off as ORU raced to a 16-2 start in the first 8 minutes of the first half. Coach Batson when asked about his defense, "this is the first year most of these guys have played the 1-3-1 Trap style that we will play. It is really exciting to see them play to that level out of the gate." The Lions shot just 29% from the field for the game and committed 16 turnovers. "I'm upset by the way we shot and turned the ball over, we need to improve in those areas and we will." The Golden Eagles were lead by Steven Valentino with 22 points and 9 rebounds. The Lions were lead by James Brehm with 15 points as the Lions fall 69-48.

#22 Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (1-0) at #8 Kansas Jayhawks (0-0)
Lawrence, KS - For the first 35 minutes the Golden Eagles seemed like the eighth-ranked team in the nation as ORU lead by as much as 8 throughout the game but a late run by the Jayhawks sealed their fate. Former #1 recruit in the nation Raul Bittner keyed the Kansas attack with 17 points off the bench. Kansas pulls away for the 65-56 win.

Non-Conference Game Team 1st 2nd Final Louisiana-Monroe (2-0) 34 39 73 #18 Oral Roberts (2-2) 30 41 71
Tulsa, OK - Some days the breaks go your way, some days they don't. In a back and forth game, which neither team lead by more than five points it was only fitting that the game would be decided as time expired. The Warhawks' Daniel Bravo with ten seconds left in the game was trapped and thought to be out of position to get a shot, until he broke free of the trap and nailed a 12 foot jumper from the right wing for the win. "We can only blame ourselves for putting ourselves in that position, but give them credit both teams left it all on the floor tonight and I can't complain about our effort." Bravo finished the game with 17 points and 5 assists.

OT - Tulsa won overtime 8-5.
Tulsa, OK - A crosstown rivalry and an overtime thriller, what more could you ask for? ORU's Clarence June hit the second free throw, after missing his first to tie the game at 70 with 37 seconds left. Tulsa worked the ball around and shot a three-pointer but it rimmed out as time expired. In overtime Tulsa took a 77-75 lead with 2 minutes remaining then both teams exchanged turnovers until with 10 seconds left ORU's Andrew Sanders stole the ball and started a 2-on-1 break. Sanders dished it off to Kermit Worsley for the apparent tying layup but Tulsa's Tony Holland came out of no where and blocked the shot to seal the victory.
