                      Armstrong Out 4-6 Weeks

Small forward Justin Armstrong will miss four-to-six week after injuring his ankle against Lehigh.

Armstrong was driving to the basket when he came down awkwardly on his ankle after driving the foul. Doctors are saying it is the dreaded high ankle sprain.

Mack Montgomery and Wesley Matthews are expected to get more playing time off the bench during Armstrong's absence.

K.J. Matsui Frustrated With Role On Team

After Columbia's victory over Lehigh, Columbia guard K.J. Matsui let the world know that he is not happy with his current role on the team.

"Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that we went out there and won tonight," a frustrated Matsui said, "But it's not like we're doing this on a consistant basis. What are we? 4-7 now? I feel that if I was being used properly, we'd be winning more."

"I'm not a point guard. I'm not the type of player that sets up other players to score. I'm the type of player that does the scoring."

Sheehan didn't wouldn't respond to Matsui's comments, other than saying that the situation will be taken care of within the team.

Matsui scored eight points off the bench in the victory over Lehigh.

Loscalzo Expected To Play Friday Against Penn

Tim Sheehan announced after the game that he expects starting point guard Brett Loscalzo on the floor for Friday's game against Penn.

Loscalzo suffered a slightly sprained ankle with under two minutes to go in Thursday's game against Princeton. Sheehan says if it had happened earlier in the game, Loscalzo would have likely returned to the floor if needed.

Loscalzo is not going to have any time to rest the injury, as Penn is the second of two back-to-back games to start the conference schedule. Loscalzo scored 16 points and shot 7 of 8 from the field in Thursday's victory against Princeton. Columbia may need a similar effort to win their fourth straight game. Penn is ranked 22 in the latest Scouts Inc. Top 25 Mid Major Poll.
