OS Thunder (4-0) @ New Orleans Hornets (0-2)

    Thunder - 96
    Hornets - 90

Player of the Game - Elden Campbell

    Pts - Coffey 14; Bolden 13; Jones 11; Slater, Butler, Baartz 10; Sky 8; Rasan 7; Wigfall 5; Burris 4; Lamb, Hopp 2

Ast - Coffey 12; Burris 3; Slater, Lamb 2; Rasan, Sky, Bolden, Baartz, Butler 1

Reb - Sky, Rasan, Coffey 4; Baartz, Hopp 3; Jones, Bolden, Burris 2; Wigfall, Slater 1

Stl - Coffey 8; Rasan, Lamb, Slater 2; Burris, Bolden, Baartz 1

    Blk - Sky 2; Bolden 1

TO - Coffey 8; Slater, Rasan 2; Bolden, Butler 1

Fls - Coffey 5; Bolden, Rasan 2; Jones, Wigfall, Hopp 1

New Orleans' leading scorer was Alexander with 19.

The key to todays win was the bench. The guys coming off the bench kept the momentum rolling. Jones once again had a good day of scoring, but the suprise off the bench was Slater who hit two key three pointers to close out the first half. Coffey played great offensively with 12 assists, and some clutch free throws to seal the win, he is still struggling with fouls and turnovers. The disappointment for todays game was the play of Hopp who couldn't find his shot but helped the team by applying pressure and knocking away a few passes defensively.

    Next game VS Orlando

Orlando's leading scorer was McGrady with 30.

The Magic came out of the gates strong, McGrady, Hill, and Armstrong all were hitting their shots. They quickly opened up a gap that would make it tough for the Thunder to win the game. At one point they were up 14 points, once the second quarter started and the starters for the Thunder took a seat, the bench did everything in their power to close the gap. Great scoring and great defensive plays closed the gap to 7 before the half. Hopp and Lamb started the second half with a flurry of points, and the defense made the stops which helped the Thunder gain the lead. In the fourth quarter the game stayed close. The last minute was intense. Down by 5 with under 40 seconds left, Rasan hit a short jumper for two. On the inbounds Slater knocked the ball away from McGrady, dished it to Hopp who hit a wide open three to tie the game at 82 with 29 seconds left. After an Orlando timeout with 21 seconds left, Coffey fouled out going for a steal and Sly stepped in to pay SG. The lineup was Rasan, Baartz, Slater, Sky, and Hopp, with Hill at the line. Hill hit both free throws to put Orlando up 2. Hopp mised a shot from six feet out, Slater grabbed the rebound tossed up a hook shot. As the ball rolled all the way around the rim and finally fell in, the horn sounded, sending the game to avertime tied at 84. Overtime started with a shooting foul putting Hopp at the line, he hit both shots. On the ensuing drive down the court, Kemp lost control of a pass and Baartz picked it up, and sent it down court for Rasan to score 2, putting the Thunder up 4. After an Orlando basket, two shots from Sky separated by a steal put the Thunder up 6. A defensive stop and a goaltending call put the Thunder up 8, and the crowd was pumped! McGrady silenced the crowd with a jumper, but the next play down the court was and amazing dunk from Hopp, jumping over Kemp and Hunter, plus getting fouled. Although he missed the shot, the intensity was maintained. With a minute left the Thunder were up 5. After a shot clock violation and a free throw after a made shot from Kemp, the lead was down to 2 with 34 seconds left. Hopp took the ball coast to coast for 2, McGrady answered with a jumper. With 23 seconds left the Magic began fouling. Rasan went 1 for 2 at teh line, so with 17 seconds left, the Magic still had a chance. After McGrady missed a chance to tie, Hopp got the rebound and was fouled with 7.8 left on the clock. After hitting both shots, McGrady tried for another three only to get blocked. Sky covered the lose ball and was sent to the charity stripe with 0.4 seconds left. After going 1for 2 the game was done.
