Re: Arlington Law Dynasty (APF 2K8)

    Week 11 Preview

Arlington Law (9-1) @ San Francisco Sharks (3-7)

After a huge comeback win against the Iron Men at home the Law travel into California and into San Francisco to play the Sharks. The Last time the teams met, Arlington shut them out in a 13-0 victory. Arlington faces another top rated quarter back this week against Joe Montana. Joe Cool can run and he is incredibly accurate, don't expect many interceptions from the Law. Montana also has help from James Lofton a very speedy deep threat reciever and Brent Jones a receiving TE that is great at catching the short ball. Chuck Foreman will get the bulk of the carries and can catch the ball very well which makes him a threat in the backfield. When Chuck is tired, Dave Meggett gets the job done with his quick feet and his ability to catch out of the backfield.
The Sharks bring a run stopping defense, with Gino Marchetti running the show at defensive end. Gino will be putting a lot of pressure on Kosar to get rid of the ball quickly or face a sack. ILB Gary Plummer and ILB Scott Studwell will be keeping Okoye in check, while providing some support for Gino by blitzing.
The Law are going to have to go to the air on offense and protect both deep and short passes. Montana will always need to have a man spying on him and Foreman will need to be watched in the backfield. If the Law can play the same way they did on week 4, when they met for the first time, the Law have a gauranteed victory.

      Week Eleven

Arlington Law (9-1) @ San Francisco Sharks (3-7)

      Quarter 1
San Jose was in the middle of a rainstorm when this game started and it took its effect on the players. Ismail on the opening kickoff tried to cut to the left but slipped on the wet grass and went down. Okoye ran 4 straight times to start the game before Kosar threw 4 straight passes before the Law Punted. The sharks were forced to punt out of their endzone, but the punter slipped and the ball was kept in the home teams 50. The Law drove up to the 2 yard line, but time ran out before they could score.
      Score: ARL 0 - SF 0

      Quarter 2
Stenerud knocked the short kick easily to start the quarter and the Law took the lead. The Sharks had to punt to start their quarter but would get the ball back, because Kosar threw his first pick of the game. Montana thre 4 passes with the last one being a touchdown pass to James Lofton. With 24 seconds left in the half the Sharks kicked off to Ismail. Ismail caught the ball at the 4 and used his speed to run it back to the Sharks endzone and re-took the lead for the Law going into the second half.
      Score: ARL 10 - SF 7

      Quarter 3
The Sharks started with the ball and after 3 completed passes my Montana, Foreman broke a 46 yard run for a TD and the lead. The Law Punted on their possesion and the Sharks ran out the clock.
      Score: ARL 10 - SF 14

      Quarter 4
The Sharks punted early, and the Law took the ball to the 44 and on a 4th and 2 attempt were stopped. The Sharks got the ball and after a couple plays were in scoring position. That was when Foreman broke an 18 yard run for another TD. The Law were now trying to comeback late in this game. They took their drive all the way to the endzone passing the whole way and getting a 2 point conversion. The Law attempted the onside kick and failed, and the ball was taken to the Arlington 6, where Foreman ran in another TD. The Law went 4 and out and everything looked bad for them as only 1 minute was on the clock, but the sharks were on their own 1 yard line. The Law brought everyone in on a blitz and got the safety to put themselves within 8. Kosar caught fire and compelted 3 passes, the thrid for a touchdown. Everything was resting on the 2 point conversion. Okoye took the ball and dove right into the endzone tieing the game at 28. The Sharks were trying to take the victory, but Willie Brown was not letting that happen as he snapped an interception at the Sharks 36. Stenerud lined up the kick, but missed wide right, giving the Skarks the ball with 1 second on the clock. Montana called the hail Mary but he chose to run the ball, but was stuffed before hitting the line of scrimmage. Into overtime we go.
      Score: ARL 28 - SF 28

      Over Time
The Sharks won the toss and chose to receive. They did not use this possesion well though, as they were forced to punt. The Law got the ball and moved it to the 18. Stenerud lined up another kick, but slipped on the wet grass and the kick went short. With the Sharks getting another possesion everything looked towards a loss for the Law, but the defense prevailed and forced another punt. Woodson returned it to the 24 and after 3 runs by Okoye Arlington was on the 6. Stenerud got his 2nd chance in OT to win the game. This time he made no mistakes and it went right down the middle. The Law came out with a huge victory, and have a lot of momentum going into next week against the Legends.

        Week 12 Preview

        Arlington Law (10-1) @ L.A. Legends (9-2)
The Law are coming off an overtime, come from behind win against the Sharks and have plenty of momentum carrying them into this game. The Legends are definitely the toughest competition the Law will face.
The Legends have John Elway, Barry Sanders and Jerry Rice as their top offensive performers. All 3 of these players are in the top 5 of their positions among the lead and have picked apart most of their opposition. The Legends also have a star offensive tackle and guard along with another reciever, Dwight Clark. Both the passing and running game is extremely dominant, but when it is matched against the leagues best defense(1500 less defensive yards than 2nd place) how will they perform?
On defense, Mike Singletary and Ronnie Lott patrol the field. Both are ehad hunters and if caught one-on-one with them, the ball carrier is going to feel some pain. Lee Roy Selmon runs the defensive line and has L.C. Greenwood helping him out. Both are defensive ends, and great pass rushers. Kosar will have to find his recievers quickly because the pocket is going to fold quickly.
The Law's defense gets their first real test at a complete powerhouse offense. It should be interesting to see if Okoye can run against Singletary and if Kosar can keep the ball away from Ronnie Lott. Rice is going to have to be double teamed for the entire game and Sanders will be in the back of the safeties minds. Both teams have dominated their competition so far and this is a clash of the two best teams in the league.

Re: Arlington Law Dynasty (APF 2K8)

Been busy lately and just caught up on this. Great win against the Sharks, almost got unlucky! You'll need all the luck in the world for the Legends though. Luckily you have two gold CBs you should just focus on the run game and blitz all day.

I said "lucky" in one way or another 3 times in that paragraph.

            Week Twelve

Arlington Law (10-1) @ Los Angeles Legends (9-2)

            Quarter 1
The Legends started with the ball and Barry Sanders started off with a 4 yard run, and after a dropped pass, Elway was sacked. The Legends were forced to punt. The Law would drive down field in 5 plays before Kosar threw an 11 yard strike to Mike Simpson to take the lead. The teams exchanged punts twice before the quarter ended with the Legends in possession at the LA 29. Sanders would run 10 yards in two plays before he broke free. On his third straight run he went 54 yards to tie the game.
            Score: ARL 7 - L.A 0

            Quarter 2
With the Legends having possesion, Sanders would run 10 yards in two plays before he broke free. On his third straight run he went 54 yards to tie the game. The Law were forced to punt, but would get the ball back as the Legends punted also. They did not make use of this though because they punted aswell. The Legends than took the ball down field before they were stopped at the 12. Kris Nedney came in and kicked a field goal so that the Legends went up 10-7. The Law tried 2 big passing plays before time expired.
            Score: ARL 7 - L.A 10

            Quarter 3
The teams exchanged punts 2 1/2 times before a team got a drive going. It would be the legends that would take the ball down field. They were stopped at the ARL 6 and Nedney tacked on 3 points. The Law got the ball and ran 3 plays before the clock expired.
            Score: ARL 7 - L.A 13

            Quarter 4
The Law were stopped early this quarter on the L.A 39. While a punt would be normal, Jan Stenerud is one of the best kickers in the league. He kicked it and all looked well, right down the middle. Unfortunately it hit the crossbar and bounced out. On the Legends next drive, Elway hit Brandon Kanell for 49 yards and Sanders ran 8 yards for another touchdown. The Law went 4 and out on their drive and gave the ball back. After getting stuffed 3 times L.A brought Nedney bac onto the field and he completed another field goal. Again the Law went 4 and out and the Legends went down field and kicked another field goal ending the game.

It hurt, but it was expected. I at least shut down Rice, I had Too Tall covering him almost every play. In doing so I gave up the rush, and without any star linebackers Sanders broke through quite a bit.
