The Life of Johnathan Johnson(NCAA 08)

    January 1st, 2007
    Capital One Bowl
    Arkansas vs Wisconsin

I was just a fan back then. Sitting there hoping that my team could bounce back after a two straight game losing streak. Coach Nutt was doing good in at his job but just could not get the team going. In the end I was yet again left dissapointed by Houston Nutt. A 17-14 loss to the Badgers. I started to leave when Mr. Broyles stopped me and told me to expect a phone call soon. I didn't think much about it, since I used to be a high school head coach. He may just want to give me a spot as Trainer or something. I headed to the hotel and slept and was booked to leave the next day. I was sitting around in the hotel room watching TV when my phone rang.

    Johnson: Hello?

    Broyles: Coach Johnson?

    Johnson: Yeah who is this?

Broyles: Frank Broyles. I want to talk to you about the head coaching spot at Arkansas. I need your opinion!

Johnson: Oh, well get somebody that knows how to coach.

Broyles: Okay, you got the job

Johnson: What!? This is very unexpected!

Broyles: You start as soon as you get back! See you then.

I jumped up and screamed. I then took a shower and went to sleep as fast as I could!! I was officially the new head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks!

    Orlando Airport

I arrived at the airport and Darren McFadden was there to greet me and escort me to the team plane. I was shocked yet again that I get to ride in the team's plane back to Arkansas. I met the whole team and they liked me. We then got on the plane and it took off. We arrived in Arkansas in about 3 hours.

When we landed we all got on a bus and headed back to Fayetteville where we had a team meeting where I would lead for the first time. It was a great moment!!

      Last Day of Summer Training

Today was the last day. Summer Training would come to an end and the season would start. All summer McFadden was getting stuffed by our defense. I knew if we could do that, we was in good shape. Training finally ended and it was my turn to conserve. I had to get the roster, depth chart, schedule together.

      Code:
      Depth Chart:

      QB
      --------------------------
      Casey **** #11
      Nathan Emert #16

      HB
      --------------------------
      Darren McFadden #5
      Felix Jones #25

      FB
      --------------------------
      Peyton Hillis #22
      Farod Jackson #33

      WR
      --------------------------
      Marcus Monk #85
      Chris Baker #28

      Code:
      2007-2008 Arkansas Razorback Schedule
