Boston, MA -(AP) -Old rivalries with a new era twist. This isn't your dad's Lakers vs Celtics game, but it might be. The new look Celtics are selling out stadiums and touring the NBA like Aerosmith. Everyone wants to see this team, they have become the NBA rock band. The Celtics have 3 All Stars, thanks to some key off season trades. How would they fare against the Lakers in Bean town? The Lakers held an early lead throughout the first half. Kobe played a slim 26 minutes but still manage to torch any defender Boston put in front of him scoring 31 points to lead all scorers. When asked what player impressed him the most this game, Bryant responded "the kid played great, Drew had a double double, we will need that from him throughout the season". The second half started with the Big three for the Celtics started hot from the floor. They went on a 12-2 run to give them a 2 point lead late in the third. Ray Allen took over early in the fourth quarter scoring Boston's first 9 points on 3 for 3, from three point land. Odom played well with 12 points, 6 boards, and 5 assists. "When we play together, we can do anything and it felt great out there" stated Garnett after the game. "This is still pre-season, let's not get too excited stated Coach Rivers at the post game conference. Phil Jackson added " I like what I've seen from the bench, they will play a huge role for us this year". The Lakers will face the New York Knicks.
