The Story of Coach Jeremy Moore (NCAA 08)

"The Florida Gators has done it!!! They have defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes 41-14 to capture the National Championship. Everyone is rushing the field, Gainesville has to be celebrating right now. Troy Smith the Heisman Trophy winner could not get it done."

I was just as shocked as anyone else that was in my house that night watching. My whole family knew that I was pursuing a Head Coaching job in College Football. My family started to talk me out of coaching after that big game. I wouldn't listen no matter how hard they tried to scare me.

"Jeremy, if you coach then you will get beat by Florida and will be embarrased. I wouldn't coach College Football if I was you!"

"Really? So what would you do if the team that I coached defeated Florida?"

"I really don't know, but that IF will never exist for you!"

I couldn't believe that my own family who put me up to the idea of coaching was now trying to scare me out of it. I already had a meeting set up with a bunch of teams that was looking for a head coach. I mean it was so hard to choose when I saw the list.

    Oregon
    Ole Miss
    Kentucky
    Ohio
    Toledo
    Arkansas
    Michigan
    Florida State
    Texas
    Air Force
    Notre Dame

I looked up and down the list and just could not think of what team to pick. I was meeting them all in the morning at the Conference Arena. I decided to go to bed and think about it. As I took a shower thoughts of National Championship trophy in my hands in the air ran through my head. I almost started to cry because of the emotion involved with it. I had to figure out which team I wanted to coach. It wasn't easy as I laid my head down to sleep.

The telephone rang in the middle of the night. I woke up and answered but didn't really want to talk, because I thought it would be someone from my family trying to haunt me about my coaching situation. It was actually someone from Oregon who talked to me for a half hour about the Oregon Football team. It really didn't help since I was half asleep and wasn't paying attention to anything they was saying. After we hung up I laid back down and fell asleep.

Re: The Story of Coach Jeremy Moore (NCAA 08)

The next morning I got up and did the usual routine. I took a shower, went to the kitchen got some breakfast. Then I got into my nicest suit and got prepared to head to the Conference Arena where alot of Athletic Directors was waiting for me. I kissed my wife and blasted out the door and into my Dodge Ram. I then drove to the arena and made my way inside. There were Security Guards that met me at the door and told me to be prepared for the media. When I stepped through the door the Media attacked!

"Jeremy have you decided where you are going to go?"

"Jeremy are you nervous about the decision?"

"Jeremy have you considered the NFL?"

I escaped the media and into the private meeting room where I was met by the Athletic Directors. I took a seat in an empty chair and listened to what they had to say. It was 2 Hours before all the AD's got finished with their reports of their colleges and teams. I was told to take a few minutes and decide who I wanted to coach for. I summarized the teams like this:

Oregon - Great Team, Heisman Potential, Great Players, Great Staff
Ole Miss - Missing Potential, Bad Staff
    Kentucky - Potential is there
    Ohio - No Comment
    Toledo - No Comment
Arkansas - Great Team, Heisman Potential, Great Staff
    Michigan - No Potential
    Florida State - No Comment

Texas - Great Team, Heisman Potential, Great Players, Great Staff
    Air Force - Good Team
Notre Dame - Potential is There

After thinking to myself I decided who I wanted to coach for. It was a hard choice but it was a final choice and I thought it was a respectable decision to anyone. I stood up and said:

"The team that I will be coaching for in the 2007-2008 Season will be the Oregon Ducks! It was a very hard thought but I narrowed it down to four teams. Arkansas, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Michigan. I thought Oregon was where I belonged and that is where I will start my coaching career at!"

The AD's stood up and shook my hand then the Oregon AD came over and said:

"Now you gotta make it public!"

That was what I wasn't happy doing, I had to talk to the media behind a podium. I walked out onto the podium where the media awaited.

"Jeremy have you made a decision on who you are going to coach?"

    "Yes"

    "Who?"

    "The Oregon Ducks"

    "Why the Oregon Ducks?"

"I feel like I belong there"

It lasted for an hour before I got go home and rest up for a day. When I arrived home my wife recorded the press conference and kept playing it over and over and over. I didn't know what was so amusing to her so I just forgot about it. I was tired and hungry, I grabbed something to eat then I hit the showers and got ready for bed. Tomorrow was going to be my first day on the job as I had to fly to Oregon to prep the team and practice.

                Les Miles Quitting LSU?

Baton Rouge, LA (AP) -- It was heartbreaking indeed. The Mississippi State Bulldogs came into the game as the underdogs and left as the winners. The Bulldogs defeated the LSU Tigers 31-20 and Les Miles was overheard talking about quitting LSU and getting a job at Michigan. These rumors are not known as true nor false and we will have to wait until the season is over with before we can make any predictions about Les Miles's future. LSU has to play #8 Virginia Tech next week in hopes of bouncing back from a Tough loss. Can LSU bounce back and still make it to the BCS National Championship game. YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!!!
