The Life and Times of Chi Chi D'Antoni
Foreword:
Chi Chi D'Antoni since his early childhood, always had a basketball with him and developed and a strong passion for the game. Being the long lost cousin of Phoenix Sun's head coach Mike D'Antoni, his system is parallel in terms of running an uptempo offense. Chi Chi D'Antoni never played basketball nor coached on a collegiate or professional level. However, his strong passion allows him to continue to be a better coach with the strong ethic he has.
Working part time selling sausage makers in new york, he was browsing through craigslist during his lunch break and found a posting for the head coach position at Iona. At first he though it was too good to be true, he replied to the ad and eventually got an interview. The Iona AD loved Chi Chi's knowledge and passion for the game, they hired him.
Having not coached on any level, Chi Chi had his work cut out him, inheriting a squad with little talent. Chi Chi knows during the early stages of his career, hes gonna be compared to Mike D'Antoni due to the fact they are related. As with that being said, Chi Chi is eager to take the challenge to become one of the greatest coaches in basketball and not be in Mike's shadow.
