    Tampa Bay Rays (MVP 05)

    Game: MVP 05 (PC)
    Sliders: Whatever works
Rosters: Updated up to before ST of the 2007 season

This dynasty will start at the beginning of the 2007 season. I'm going to play at least one game of every series, but will post some stuff about every game. Hopefully I can keep this one going for a while, and let me know if you have any suggestions/comments along the way.

Thanks, but no such luck for me so far. Not only did I get swept by the Yankees, but one of my star players was also injured and will be out for the rest of the season. I'll try to post an update in a bit.

Young to Miss the Rest of the Season

St. Pete, FL - During his first at-bat in the 3rd game of the opening series against the Yankees, Delmon Young was lost for the rest of the season with a torn shoulder muscle. It is rumored that the top 100 prospect won't be able to swing a bat for at least 8 months. Doctors don't know yet if he will ever live up to his potential after this injury, only time will tell after rehab. Management says that the current timeline would be for Young to hopefully start the next season at double-a and work his way back up to the majors after a month or so.

Johnny Gomes will be playing right field from now on. His DH role will be taken by Norton for the time being, but that could change depending on the needs of the team. Elijah Dukes has been called up to take Young's roster spot, and could wind up starting in the outfield by the end of the season. Carl Everett was also signed to a minor-league contract and is currently playing in triple-a Durham. He could also be called up to fill Young's spot if needed.

That's a tough loss there. Looks like he is done for the season. I think it might be wise to bring up Elijah Dukes, but I don't know how good he is rated. Johnny Gomes is a good player, but he is better playing as DH, since he is not a great right fielder. Oh well, hopefully you can pull it together! I'm struggling, too!

Most of Dukes hitting ratings are like 58-62 or so in the rosters I'm using. I'm thinking about moving him into the starting outfield spot and letting Gomes DH like you said, because Norton just isn't someone I want on my line-up. Zobrist is also doing terrible, so I might give B.J. Upton a chance at shortstop.

Like I said I'm trying to keep this as realistic to real life baseball as I possibly can, but if someone pops up on the trading block that interests me I think I'm going to have to make some moves because this team is terrible. Sadly I've already thought ahead and I would like to get some decent young players that could help eventually for Casey Fossum or maybe trade Joel Guzman for a young pitcher. It also sucks because I was going to shop Delmon Young around because I knew I could get a lot for him.
