Cleveland, OH - Hideki Matsui's 1st inning Grand Slam was enough to put the Yankees 4 runs ahead and gain a lead that they would never surrender. On a chilly afternoon in Cleveland, Yankees' rookie pitcher Alan Horne was exceptional all game but was pulled in the 8th after giving up a lead off home run to Grady Sizemore (3 on the season for him). Rivera picked up the save after a perfect 9th inning to take the Yankees to 17-7, the best winning percentage in the Majors, while the Indians fell to 10-13 and 2nd from last in the AL Central. The Indians must look forward to their next two games with the Yankees and hope to pick up vital home victories in those games to pull themselves back to the .500 mark and back into contention in the AL Central. It may be early, but the Indians need to bounce back quickly. They have lost 6 of their last 7 games, a fact Manager Eric Wedge is certainly disappointed with.
