      Recap:
Blacksburg, Va- Western Kentucky entered Virginia with some hope of finally completing one of the upsets. The Hokies made sure that this was not going to happen.

Western Kentucky fell behind 27-0 at halftime and were being completely outplayed by their opposition. It even fell to 34-0 before WKU managed to put a touchdown on the board.

The two teams swapped touchdowns again and the final score came out to be 41-14 in the favor of Virginia Tech.

Afterwards, coach Rogers could only say, "That was embarassing, expect improvements immediately." Lets see if the improvements will come for the Hilltoppers.

        Recap
Bowling Green, Ky- Coach Rogers said that improvements will be made and signs of those improvements were shown in this game against the Ball State Cardinals.

The Hilltoppers fell behind early with Love completed a 30 yard touchdown pass to put the Cardinals on top. But that seemed to spark the Hilltoppers.

Western Kentucky unleased 17 points in the second quarter to give the Hilltoppers a 17-14 lead at halftime.

Ball State took the lead back in the 3rd quarter behind 2 field goals. The score was 20-17.

"I knew we were going to win. This team just showed me that they were not going to lose again." said coach Rogers. And they did not lose this game.

Zach Minturn tied the game up with 6:44 left to play in the 4th and the Western Kentucky defense turned up the heat in the 4th and shut the Cardinals offensive attack down.

Minturn had a chance to play hero with 17 seconds left in the game. He played the part very well, as he sunk a 30 yard field goal to put the Hilltoppers up for good and to secure the upset.

"We are still a team with a losing record, but this is a good start to turn the team around", said senior quarterback David Wolke.

The Hilltoppers will stay at home and greet the Florida Atlantic Owls this upcoming Saturday.

          Recap
Bowling Green, Ky- Coach Rogers has always preached a power running game where the back rushes it up the gut for 35+ times a game. But so far this season he has been unable to do that. "It is a challenge right now to put my offense in. They were using the spread before I got here so I am trying to get them onto another offensive strategy."

His gameplan was used to perfection against the Florida Atlantic Owls. Hayden managed to touch the ball 37 times and ran for 147 yards. "I was proud of [Hayden]. His hard work in practice is finally showing on the field" said coach Rogers.

Anthony Higgins had a big day today at middle linebacker. He had 6 tackles, 2 were for losses. And also had 2 big interceptions including a pick 6.

"This was just a good team effort today. The men came out and did their job and we got the results we were looking for. " said Coach Rogers.

The Hilltoppers have a bye week coming up but then they will take on North Texas.

            Recap
Bowling Green, KY- Western Kentucky entered today's game riding a 2 game win streak. They were taking on a struggling North Texas school who gave them more than they would want.

North Texas managed to strike first with a 28 yard field goal and scored a 15 yard touchdown pass to give them a 3 point lead in the first quarter.

Both teams defenses stepped up in the second quarter causing the halftime score to be North Texas 10 Western Kentucky 7.

Both teams traded a touchdown in the 3rd and in the 4th quarter North Texas managed to score a touchdown and gave themselves a 24-14 lead with 6:56 to go.

That was plenty of time however for the Hilltoppers. A long bomb from David Wolke to Jake Gaebler quickly made it a 3 point game again and after an interception by WKU, the Hilltoppers had themselves set up for a big finish.

Staring 4th and 11 in the face, David Wolke managed to find Quintance Cooper for a 15 yard reception that put the Hilltoppers in FG range.

But Western Kentucky would not settle for a field goal as they ran the ball in the endzone with 41 seconds left.

This earned greatest games honors for the user profile. "They finally are beginning to put it together. We are right were we need to be." said coach Rogers after the team's game today.

The Hilltoppers will now go on the road to try and beat the Troy Trojans. The game will be this Saturday at 3:30pm.

Troy Ala-The Hilltoppers entered today's game riding a 3 game winning streak and were looking to become bowl eligible.

Troy has had a reputation of beating good teams but Western Kentucky is not to the point of being considered a good team yet.

The Hilltoppers managed to intercept the Troy pass in the first quarter and scored on a 6 yard pass to Jake Gaebler with only a minute off the clock.

Troy came right back with a 69 yard pass to tie the game up but did not get any closer after that.

Western Kentucky put up 10 more points in the second quarter and that ended up being the final.

"The defense was all over the place. They did not allow anything at all." said Western Kentucky's defensive coordinator Richard James.

Western Kentucky had 2 games left on the schedule and their home finale is this Saturday against Middle Tennessee State. Tickets are still available.

                Recap:
Bowling Green, Ky- Western Kentucky looked to continue their win streak as they took on the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State.

The Blue Raiders got on the board early with 2 interception returns for touchdowns in the first half.

"Just a sloppy game. No excuses, we just need to play better. That is all." these were the only words coach Rogers would give about this game. The Hilltoppers had 5 turnovers in this game and all were by interception.

The only bright spot would be the impact player Tyrell Haydon. Haydon has been really impressive of late and had another solid game this afternoon.

Middle Tennessee State added a 65 yard touchdown pass in the 3rd quarter to put the game out of reach.

The Hilltoppers have to bye weeks before they play their final game of the season against the Florida International Panthers.

                  Hilltoppers land 3-Star Reciever.
                  "6 recruits commit including Frazier"

Bowling Green, Ky- Hilltoppers finally land recruits during bye weeks of the season. Antonio Frazier, a 3 star recruit out of Winter Garden, Fla, agreed to become a Hilltopper next fall.

Antonio is considered to have A+ awareness on the football field along with B+ speed and agility.

"He is a great young kid who I can see making an impact as soon as next season" said Coach Rogers about the 3-star recruit.

Notable other recruits would be John Wright, a 2-star defensive end out of Indiana, and Anthony Russell a 2-star recruit from Indiana as well.

Look on post #5 for more information on recruiting.

                      Hilltoppers claim another 3-star reciever.

News out of Bowling Green came today as Patrick Gould, a wide receiver from Bellefontaine, Ohio, committed to Western Kentucky.

He is the second 3-star recruit to commit to the Hilltoppers as Coach Rogers tries to build up a dynasty.

"My mom wanted me to stay close to home and Coach Rogers showed me how much this program means to him. I just want to play for a coach like this." said Gould in his press conference.

                        The Hilltoppers are bowl bound!

In the first year of Division 1-A football, the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have earned a bid to their first ever bowl.

Western Kentucky will take on Oklahoma State in the PetroSun Independence Bowl on December 30th.

"This is just big. I can not believe it." said the AD of WKU sports.

                          Recap
Shreveport, La- Western Kentucky won the opportunity to go bowling this year and their opponent in the PetroSun Independence Bowl was Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State was to much for the drop happy Hilltoppers as they managed to pull away by the second quarter.

"Our receivers are pathetic, plain and simple. They can not catch to save their life and thankfully most of them will be gone by next year." said Coach Rogers after the game.

The interceptions that were thrown by Wolke were all because of the tipped balls by the receivers.

The one bright spot for Western Kentucky was Alonzo Higgins getting his second interception for a touchdown tonight.

All in all this was a great season for the Hilltoppers who should be excited for next year.
