Congrats on a terrific season with the Hilltoppers in their first year in D-1.
Congrats also on the invitation to the MAC. Which team was dropped by the MAC? It certainly would be ironic if it was Bowling Green State that was jetisoned.If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in english, thank a soldier.Comment

2009 Western Kentucky Outlook
After Western Kentucky's first season as a division one school, they were invited into the Mid Atlantic Conference(aka. MAC). This allows for the start-up of a rivalry with the Bowling Green State Falcons.
Western Kentucky has received the unfortunate task of starting the season with 6 road games, 8 in total. "I know this team is up to the challenge. We will show everyone what we are about." said Coach Rogers.
Tyrell Hayden has decided to return for his senior season and looks to play another big year under Coach Rogers system.
KJ Black has taken the reigns at quarterback and looks to return this team to a ball game.
The biggest questions on this team would be how will the freshmen play this season. Both 3 star receivers will be playing this year and the freshman middle linebacker will start.
With all the road games and some questions at the defense, many do not think Western Kentucky will return to a bowl game, but Coach Rogers is ready to prove the doubters wrong again.

Hilltoppers start season off with an upset.

Ames, IA-The rain poured down as the Hilltoppers came into the first of their six game road trip. "I love sightseeing. I guess I will be able to see a lot of different places on this road trip." said Coach Rogers.
Western Kentucky lost in their first game last season and were behind by 10 in the second quarter against the Cyclones. 2 Fumbles and a bad interception allowed for the Cyclones to take the lead.
But after a field goal as the half expired, you could feel the momentum shift. The Hilltoppers came out in the second half and controlled the clock for more than half the third quarter before Anthony McCloud got into the endzone on a beautiful screen pass.
Western Kentucky's defense was not going to allow the Cyclones to do anything on offense in the second half, as Iowa State was compelety shut down.
Western Kentucky had a chance to take the lead mid way through the 4th quarter but Zach Minturn's field goal clanked off the rigth upright.
The Hilltoppers did get the ball back after another 3 and out by the defense and then KJ Black had the play of the game. On a playaction roll out, KJ Black found Quintanrrance Cooper for a 51 yard pass reception and that sealed the deal for the Hilltoppers.
Western Kentucky will head to the beautiful state of Arizona next Saturday to take on the Arizona Wildcats.
