I think Bhurst's is second best to Alex King's. Alex is really good.

We arrived back in Toronto in the afternoon, as we had to play the big, bad Canadiens in a Battle Royale. The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens had always been rivals since the league was just a baby. I had just come off a huge night, netting three goals then getting the shootout game winner. I was so sighed to play, I could already here the crowd cheering like crazy whenever the Leafs would touch the puck. It also seemed like Jessica would be staying in Toronto with me as she was signed to a contract with the Toronto Argonauts women team. Time flew by very quickly and soon enough it would become gametime. As I walked into my dressing room, before I walked in I saw Saku Koivu and Mike Komisarek walk past me. I knew we'd have to shut those two down if we wanted to win.

The Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Montreal Canadiens at home.. The Rivalry Continues!!!

              First Period

We burst out the gate into a cheer filled Air Canada Center. It was my NHL debut infront of the crowd I may play before for the rest of the year. I was coming off a huge game against the Detroit Red Wings where I scored a hat trick and won us the game in the shootout. This time I was on a handicap, playing without the presence of Jessica, as she was making her debut with the Toronto Argonaunts. We hoped for the best for eachother, and hoped we both played awesome. The first period went off in a bang, but I knew everyone was thinking : Where are all of this kid's goals? I didn't even know what had happened, I just couldn't get the puck past the red hot Carey Price. Price didn't let anyone get the puck past him that period but Toskala was up to the challedge, also stopping the rain of Canadiens shots. The period went out with no goals being scored.

              2nd Period

The second period wasn't what I had hoped for. I was getting penalties more and more and that was not helping us. Not against the powerplay that included defensemen Mike Komisarek and Andrei Markov and forwards like Alexei Kovalev and Saku Koivu and when I did get out of the box, my shots were never able to get past Price. I was getting frustrated on not knowing what to do. Then. all hell broke loose as Andrei Markov teed up the 1st goal of the game from the blueline. The Leafs began to turn the ship around, but the 2nd Period ended without the Leafs unable to score. The crowd was becoming restless.

              3rd Period

My,my what a 3rd Period that was.The Leafs and the Habs got into a heated scrap that no one was able to break up. We were hitting harder and shooting more often. Then the period started going against us. I thought I could litteraly hear the clock ticking down to the end. I knew I had the power to tie this game up, I just had to draw it out first. I skated down the ice on full speed, first past Andrei Markov but just couldn't get past Komisarek, I knew if I had tried getting past him, I'd end up getting checked down. So I decided to just shoot for the heck of it. I had in no way, believed I had just scored. The game was tied at 1 going into OT.

              Overtime

I cannot believe it, as I shifted to center for the 4 on 4 Overtime period, I scored the highlight reel goal, maybe goal of the year. I just couldn't believe it. I shifted in from the left, with one arm on my stick for the puck, I split in, shot, got checked down and scored for the game-winner in Overtime. I was rewarded with the 1st Star of the game and still is the only player to score for the Maple Leafs so far.
