Indians Chapter 1(signing of a new skipper)
It has been announced today that the Cleveland Indians have been taken over by a new manger by the name of Andrew Martin.
"I'm extremely happy and surprised to be chosen as the new manager for this franchise, heck I was surprised when the told me I was being considered for the job." Martin half jokingly said during the press confrence.
"Losing Jim(Thome) was a big blow to the team, but I think we can rebound, and hopefully make the playoffs this year. We've got a good mix of young guns and vets which should help us down the stretch."
More updates to follow as they arise. -

Indians Chapter 2, Page 1(Series with O\'s)
Indians get thumped by O's 7-3.
No, indeed it was a very poor game for the Indians, it could be that it was the season opener, and that there were some jitters. Or it could be that the tribe just didn't get the job done.
"Personally, I think that we couldn't make contact with a beach ball if we wanted to during this game," said Manager Andrew Martin.
If hitting was the problem, then pitching made it worse. Starting pitcher C.C. Sabathia was lit up for for six runs(all earned) in just two and two thirds innings on nine hits.
"C.C. Got lit up, we're all entitled to our bad days, this was one of his I'm sure he'll get over it." Manager Martin said following the game.
Of course it didn't help that Left Fielder Matt Lawton made a costly fielding error with two away and runners on second and third in the third inning.
"I thought I had the ball cleanly but the next thing I knew it was out of my glove and in the grass while two runners crossed the plate." A dejected Lawton said following the game.
"I'm not sure if he lost it in the sun or what, but we all thought he had it and the next thing we knew it was off the heel of his glove and in the grass." Martin said.
But it wasn't all bad for the tribe, one of the few bright spots for the Indians was the play of Right Fielder Karim Garcia both at the plate and in the field hitting a solo blast in the sixth inning and making several key(and amazing) plays throughout the game.
"I'm very, very pleased with my play today, I'm a bit upset we didn't win but we will get them next time" Garcia said.
Manager Martin banged home that point during the post game press confrence.
"Karim is a talented young player on the team this year and I think he has the potential of being something big later on, he's got a good amount of everything, he needs to be a bit more patent though"
The Tribe hope to rebound aganist the O's in their next game

Re: Indians Chapter 2, Page 2(Indians rebound in Game 2)
On a frigid Baltimore night, The Indians managed to heat up enough to squeak by the Orioles 4-2.
"I'm pleased with our effort as a team, I feel we've really made some imporvements in the field and at the plate since the other night, and more maturity with come as the season gets further in" Manager Andrew Martin said following the game. This was Martin's first win in the Major leauges.
"Was it fun(getting my first win)? You bet. Hopefully it won't be my only win though"Martin said jokingly.
The team as a whole hit very well, banging out tweleve hits on the night.
"It was great seeing our batting take shape like that, I didn't feel like having a repeat of the other day,"
Of the four runs scored by the Tribe, two RBIs came from an unlikely source, John McDonald.
"I was surprised on the hit that brought them both home, because it was a little blooper and it looked like it would have been caught easily, but I'm glad it wasn't." Said McDonald in the clubhouse following the game.
"John was an unlikely source to get runs from, he's usually the type that sacrifices people into scoring postion, but hey, every run is a run on the board no matter who or how it crosses the plate.
Indians starting pitcher Brian Anderson had a steller outing this evening as he went six plus innings and gave up just two runs for the win.
"I piched really well, I was hitting my marks really well and it worked out." Anderson said.
Not to be outdone Orioles Starter Omar Daal went six and a third giving up three runs on eight hits and striking out one batter.

Re: Indians Chapter 2, Page 3 (Indians win series 2-1
The Cleveland Indians won the rubber match of their three game set with the Orioles with a 6-4 win the evening.
"Run production got more important later on, we were down 4-3 and we scored three in the seventh to put us up" Manager Martin said following the game.
Indians starter Jason Bere gave the Tribe five and a third innings work allowing three runs on six hits.

Re: Indians Chapter 3, Page 1(Series preview @ KC)
The following interview took place on a Kansas City radio station with Indians manager Andrew Martin.
Rob Thelps: Hey skipper, how are you doing today?
Andrew Martin: Not bad.
RT:That's good, your team is in town to play the Royals in a three game series. How good do you feel your chances are?
AM: I think we could be surprised by KC if we don't get out of the blocks quick aganist them in every game. They've got a lot of good young talent and are better than there 1-2 recod would indicate.
RT: How do you feel about the pitching matchup in game one?
AM: I think it's a really good matchup. Dave Burba is a vetern who can give us a lot of quality innings. And James Baldwin is a pitcher that can surprise people if the don't know what to look for. He's got an awesome four seamer, which is complimented by a wicked curveball and he'll even throw in a cutter if you're not expecting it.
RT: Who do you think needs to step up in the series and make a real impact.
AM: Everybody needs to step up. This is a team game, you win and lose as a team, not just as one person.
RT: That's a good way of thinking.
AM: You can say that if you like.
RT: Good luck in the series.
AM: Thanks
