Coach Bio:
After putting in his dues for 10 years, Coach Tyler Vaughan has finally made it to his dream job. Vaughan will lead the Michigan Wolverines in the 2016-17 college basketball season. Vaughan started his head coaching career at Centenary for two years and was quickly noticed as an up and coming coach. Davidson was next on the stop for Vaughan. Coach had great success in the regular season at Davidson but after 3 years of missing the big dance, he bolted to the west coast.

As the head coach of Portland, Vaughan began making a name for himself. Struggled to a 14-11 record in his first season but went a combined 80-8 the last 3 years, including an NCAA championship 2 years ago. Portland coasted through the season last year but did the unimaginable by losing to the 16-seed Lehigh as a #1 seed. Even after the major dissapointment, opportunity came knocking on coach Vaughan's door and he quickly accepted. In the words of Vaughan, "This is all I've ever wanted. I couldn't be happier. Go Blue!!"

Coach Vaughan is regarded as an up and coming coach. He started his career at UC Riverside where he struggled to find conisitency and had a 24-28 record in two years there. He was offered a job by his brothers former school and decided to head to Louisiana to take over the Centenary Gents. Vaughan inherited a team who had graduated it's main core and struggled to two losing seasons before he turned the corner. Over the next four years his Gents would reach post-season play making the NCAA's three times. Those seasons highlighted by back to back 25 win seasons would die early after the seasons end winning only two games in the NIT.

Now with George Mason after his 6 year run with the Gents he led the Patriots to a 14-15 record but a recruiting class that will see two starters down low and the return of National Freshman of the Year Frederich Holt. When asked about his future with the Patriots he said, “It's a great job with high expectations this team has made one of the most memorable runs in the history of the NCAA Tournament but if the right job turns up I may not be able to turn it down.” That right job would most likely be the University of Washington but he has also said that he would like to coach at Creighton University on his road to the Dawgs.

Just One of Those Nights
George Mason Stumble out of the blocks

Wake Forest dominated every aspect of the game. Shooting 49% from the field ant a + 25 rebound margin led to a 25 point win. Led by 7'3" SR Jamar Halcomb who led both teams with 24 points and 15 boards. The Patriots leading scorers were hot at either end of the game. Holt scoring 8 points quickly and Nelke dominating the last 5 minutes of the game. Things can surely only get better from here.
