Summary: This game was a pitchers duel. Despite that fact, the Red Sox managed to break through for the winning run in the 4th off a Trot Nixon RBI single. Jimmy Chase continues to dominate out of the pen, recording his 6th save of the year.

Summary: The Blue Jays raced out to an early 5-1 lead off Juan Cruz, but the Red Sox battled back. Heading into the 9th, Boston trailed 6-4, but a 5 run 2 out rally, capped by a Manny Ramirez 3 run HR, made it 9-6 Boston. Despite, their heroics, the Red Sox suffered a big loss. CF Johnny Damon went down with a torn MCL and will be out for 78 days. As a result, the Red Sox signed Kenny Lofton to play centerfield. Lofton will start immediately.
