Better Late Than Never: travis a.d.'s Memphis Tigers (NCAA 09)

MEMPHIS, TN -- Don't get me wrong, the Florida Atlantic Owls have vastly improved their football program, but if your team receives a butt-whoopin' from them in a mediocre bowl game, then it is time for a change.

That is where coach travis a.d. steps in.

Following a 44-27 embarrassment to FAU in the 2007 New Orleans Bowl, Memphis Tigers head coach Tommy West has stepped down, and effective immediately, will be replaced by OS's own travis a.d.

    "Who?"

Although he has not been posting on the Operation Sports boards for very long, travis a.d. plans to make a name for himself with his Memphis Tigers dynasty. He knows, however, that it will not be a walk in the park.

"I feel like I will have my work cut out for me in Memphis. I have read tons and tons of other dynasty reports and it seems like many of the A.I. and recruiting glitches in this game have caused a lot of players to start annihilating computer opponents with relative ease. But thanks to the sliders I have been using for quite some time, I feel like it will take strategy and patience before my Tigers will take home any C-USA hardware".

But he does not plan on stopping there.

"My goal is to get my boys into the SEC one day. I know it won't be easy, but our in-state rivals Tennessee better watch their backs. They might have bragging rights today, but hopefully after a few stellar recruiting classes, we can reclaim our winning ways and emerge as potential BCS-busters".

    Now, onto the 4-1-1:

Platform: NCAA Football 09 on XBOX 360
    Difficulty: All-American
    Rosters: RomanCaesar's with minor edits
Sliders: mudtiger's pg. 25 sliders with some slight personal alterations
    Quarter Length: 6 minutes
    Team Prestige:
2007 Record: 7-6 (lost New Orleans Bowl)
Scheduling: Beginning with the 2009 season I will use cfbpalace.net as a reference to attempt to recreate Memphis’ real-life future schedules as closely as I can. In later years however I will put at least one road game against an SEC and/or ACC opponent. After 2008 I will never schedule an FCS team.
Recruiting: I can only recruit in Tennessee and pipeline states until Memphis reaches 4-star prestige status, unless the prospect is already interested in my school. However, unless recruiting becomes too easy (which has proven to be very possible in NCAA 09) my recruiting rules will not be too terribly strict, I will just aim to keep it as realistic as possible.
Red-Shirts: Only true freshman are eligible to receive a red shirt.
House Rules: I don’t have many house rules except that I will not control players when I am returning kicks and punts, and after INT’s. This is to avoid starting each drive with ridiculous field position and to cut down on all the pick-6’s in NCAA 09.

I surely hope it's okay to post now. This looks very clean and organized. I love Memphis football (used them in 07), good luck with this.

Jevan Sneade proved to be the catalyst of Memphis' defense, throwing for 211 yards and 4 TDs

A familiar sight during this game: Memphis defenders chase WR Mike Wallace

                              A Painful Debut

Tigers offense can't get out of the starting gate, spoil coach's debut

OXFORD, MS -- Coach travis a.d.'s first game as head coach of Memphis did not turn out quite how he had hoped.

In fact, it was not even remotely close to what he was expecting.

"I hate to even mention the thought of tweaking my sliders just one game into a new dynasty, but I can't understand why this team just couldn't get off the ground against Ole Miss. It's not as if we were severely outmatched, they simply walked all over us today".

The Rebels' defense held Memphis to a mere 193 yards of total offense and just 14 points. Junior QB Arkelon Hall's only touchdown pass of the night came with just 23 seconds left in the game when he connected with Curtis Steele from 15 yards out.

Momentum took an enormous swing in Mississippi's direction when Memphis RB T.J. Pitts fumbled near midfield, opening the door for Ole Miss DT Jerrell Powe to scoop up the loose ball and run it all the way back to the 2 yard line. Jevan Sneade hooked up with Mike Wallace on the following play for the second of his four TD passes of the game.

The Rebels scored 28 straight points between the second and third quarters against a battered and stunned Memphis defense.

"We need to work on both sides of the ball if we even want to think about contending for the C-USA title this year. At least we have an FCS opponent in a few weeks, so I don't think we will go winless this season", travis a.d. joked.
