I swear this is my last attempt. I will give you guys the right to shoot me if I post another one after this.

After a disappointing 2007-2008 campaign that saw the Leafs end with a 36-35-11 record and last in the Northeast Division, the management decided it was time for some changes. GM John Ferguson Jr. Was fired. He was then replaced by former GM Cliff Fletcher, the man who landed Mats Sundin in Toronto. Head Coach Paul Maurice lasted until the season ended, where he was then fired and replaced by former San Jose Sharks coach, Ron Wilson. Captain Mats Sundin was unsure if he would return for the 08-09 season or not. He did - but, unfortunately not with the Leafs.

Goalie controversey in Toronto?

The leafs are now faced with a goaltending problem - They have 3 veterans. Martin Gerber has been given the starting job for the time being, and Curtis Joseph is the backup. But Olaf Kolzig is also with the team, playing for the AHL's Toronto Marlies. Ron Wilson and Brian Burke are faced with a decision of who to use. One of the 2 may be traded, with the possibility of waiving CuJo.

Maple Leafs coach Ron Wilson calls out NHL referees.

Since the start of the season, Ron Wilson hasn't been happy with the way that the refs have been handling things. After yesterdays game against the Pittsburgh Penguins he finally unleashed his anger at the media. He asked them "How the f*** do you explain that many missed calls on our opponents, while our guys get called for a little tap? Im starting to get a feeling that this is figure skating with sticks. That loss last night? We had 3 guys get slashed behind the play, countless guys tripped in front of the net, and then that gamewinner in OT? Bull. Bill Guerin dived. Now that hes playing alongside the best dive artist in the NHL, Sidney Crosby I'll expect to see more of this. But calling a f***ing penalty shot in overtime is complete BS. My 80 year old dad would make a better ref."
