                Results of Round 1

Bruins take win by nine, not without a scare

Boston, MA(AP) In the opening round of the NCAA tournaments east bracket, nobody really expected much from the sixteenth seeded St. Francis Red Flash. But seedings can be dievieving.

The Red Flash were only down five at the half at 31-26.

"I'm not really surpirsed we hung with them as well as we did in the first half, any team can do that." Said Head Coach T.J. Nelson.

There was a long scoring dround and it was tied at 46 all late in the second half when Red Flash radio announcer Phil Bush put it Best.

"just under two minutes to go tied at 46, Oliver drives, wait he kics it out to the Senior Mike Norman.... For Three.... YES! The Red Flash have the lead."

However the Bruins wen't on a scoring rampage following that and won out 58-49.

"I'm very proud of our teams accomplishments throughout this entire year, and I hope they're proud of themselves as well"

                Next up..... Recruiting

Note:I'll be writing the recruiting in first person where Nelson will travel around the country looking for young talented players to join his team to fill the holes left on the roster left by graduating seniors or those who have decided to test the waters and head on to a pro basketball career in the NBA

                            Recruiting

                            Chapter I: Filling the Void

"Hell of a year, eh Mark?" I said to my Assistant Coach Mark Jackson.

"Yeah Tim, hope we can do it all again next year" Jackson responded to me as he sipped his coffee.

"What are we looking at this Off Season, what do we need to go the market for?" I questioned him

"Well, we need two Forwards to me roster Requirements... Small Forwards preferably" Jackson told me

"Alright, Any interest?" I questioned politely.

"There are a few, one from Martinsburg, West Virginia by the name of Wayne Brazzle, another from New York City, by the name of Glen Dawson, and a third from Rahleigh-Durham North Carolina by the name of Ray Lhota."

                            "Is that it?" I questioned

"Yes" Jackson responded to me, "At lest that we have a legit shot at getting anyway."

It didn't look good, but we had to make due with what we had to offer.

"Do you wanted to try and go after all three?" I immediately asked.

"Sure, if that's what you want," He exhaustedly responded.

"Alright, call up that Brazzle kid, see what he's got to say." I said

Mark punched in the digits on the telephone.

"Hello?" Someone said on the the other end of the telephone.

"Hello, is this Wayne Brazzle?" Jackson asked

                            "Yes it is"

"Hello, my name is Mark Jackson, and I am the assistant basketball coach here at St Fracis University here in Altoona Pennsylvania, we heard that you are interested in coming here to play basketball in the fall"

                            "Perhaps" Brazzle responded

"Would you like to speak to the head coach?" Jackson asked him

"Don't put me on the line yet?"I thought to myself, however it was too late and the black telephone reciever was already in my face.

                            "Hello" I said

"Yeah what do you have to offer" Brazzle said.

"We have an excellent campus here and we'd be willing to give you a tour and we will even fly you out here "

"We'll see what happens" Brazzle said

                            Click.

                            Coversation number one was finished.

"It's going to be a long few days" I said to Mark as a signed heavily.

The next two didn't have any more to say than the first one did, however they all expressed interest in seeing our campus.

                            End Chapter I
