What do you look for when reading a dynasty story thread?

What do you look for when reading a dynasty story thread?

Are you the sort of person who takes their time reading someone's match reports? Or do you engross yourself in the stats instead?

Are you a visual person? Do you quickly skim people's threads looking for screenshots (if provided). Or do you hunt for videos to watch instead?

Just wanted to know people's viewing tendencies.

Reports and at least some basic statistics. Videos and screenshots are nice, but that's just icing on the cake and isn't the foundation to build a great dynasty on. The meat and potatoes are the statistics and the reports and those should not be neglected. Reports don't have to be long, but I do prefer for there to be at least a few sentences about the game, although there are some dynasties which do not have reports that I like. There's always exceptions.

I prefer stats, and reports are nice, but sometimes I just skip through the report and look at the stats/final score.

I'd like to hear peoples opinions. Personally, I like when there's some sort of a story.

              LOL. Thanks.

I think what I look for the most is commitment to the dynasty. A lot of dynasties start great but then the author quits before posting 10 reports. If someone stays with a dynasty for a long time then I'm more likely to read it even if it doesn't have screenshots or videos.

                A little bit of everything.

If it's all text I won't read it. I really like the one's that incorporate some video into as well as some graphics although I know they can be a pain to do.

A couple things that turn me off are unrealistic results and someone not sticking with it.

For example, if you're Utah State and you go 11-0 and head to a BCS game in YR1 I'm not gonna read it.

The reports have to be well-written. Anything else is gravy. If the reports aren't good, I won't read.

I generally try to write the best reports I can of the games I play.

Re: What do you look for when reading a dynasty story thread?

A good mixture of style and substance helps keep my interest. I actually have a lot of respect for someone who has all their stats and information organized and keeps it clean. I tend to be heavy on the graphics because it comes easy for me. I enjoy reading single player careers, like a Road to the Show or Superstar-like career.

Overall, I respect anyone that does it. There's something about a guy that does dynasties that tells me they can overlook all the gibberish on the forums about that particular game. They have the ability to look beyond certain limitations and enjoy their game. That goes a long way.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Personally, I enjoy the dynasties that incorporate screenshots to help explain the games. Just personal preference.

Without the pictures, it loses some of its realism in my opinion.

Stats are pretty much required, without something in that area you don't know how things are going. The reports, especially if they add some sort of story though are really what sells the deal. Screenshots and vids are nice and can add to it but they are less vital.
