My first year "to do" list and roster was like this...
C: Jason Kendall (Dealt Varitek away to get some more speed and higher average)
1B: Travis Hafner (Dealt away Sexson when he turned into a prick and asked to be traded)
2B: Joe Thurston

SS: Eckstein (streaky, but solid D)
3B: Joe Randa, Eric Chavez (Got Chav when he was on DL, had to eat 10 days of his DL stint, but well worth it)
LF: Giles

CF: Ludwick (solid D, and above average bat, but streaky)
RF: Raul Ibanez

My pitching was good, but bullpen sucked, so my starting pitching was Mark Prior, Tim Hudson, Roy Halladay, and a rotation of #4 and #5's...
Bullpen sucked, but Julian Tavarez kept getting notched into my lineup, night after night, I kept bumping him to bullpen, and was always afraid of bringing him in in critical situations, because, well, quite frankly, he sucks a fat one...

I basically threw up the white flag, and ruled my season a bust and advanced to the next season, in the FA's, I didn't renew Randa's expensive contract, I signed Mike Cameron to a 3 year deal, I had to re-sign Halladay for more than I wanted to pay him, but he's solid so why not? In relief I picked up Scott Sauerbeck, Bruce Chen, and roberto Hernandez, I tried to drop Julian Tavarez to the minors and call up Charlie Bates (the guy my scouts found and said he's good for Mopup "Now") and it says, "Julian Tavarez is not eligible for demotion and will cost you 1 BP to release him, wish to proceed?" Needless to say I couldn't hit that "YES" button enough times! And to anyone that picks him up, "May God have mercy on your soul!"
Well, started up my second season yesterday, and jumped off to a 4-0 lead, the Reds came back and took a 8-4 lead, and I managed to tie it up at 9 with a 2-out, 2 run shot by Giles in the bottom half of the 9th.

I know, I know, I'm bored today, but so far it seems my off-season deals are making me competitive and figured I'd share.
