Re: Austin Outlaws Expansion (ASB 2004)

    Game 3 of 4

    Outlaws @ Angels

    Dave Burba (0-1) @ Aaron Sele (0-0)

Edgar Martinez got things started in the 2nd inning with a solo home run for the first run of the ball game. In the 4th Spezio hit a lead off double, and Salmon did the same to tie it up. Dave Burba did an excellent job on the mound throughout the game, and after being tied through 5, Edgar Martinez broke the game open with 2 run home run. That was enough for the Outlaws' pitching, and they shut the Angels down for the rest of the game. Win: 3-1

    Angels
    Salmon: 4 AB, 1 H, 1 RBI

    Outlaws
    E. Martinez: 5 AB, 3 H, 2 HR, 3 RBIs
    Erstad: 5 AB, 2 H, 1 R

    WP- Dave Burba (1-1): 7 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 4 K, 3.75 ERA
    LP- Aaron Sele (0-1): 6 IP, 9 H, 3 ER, 2 K, 4.50 ERA
    Save- Mike MacDougal (4): 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 K, 4.15 ERA

Player of the Game: Edgar Martinez: 5 AB, 3 H, 2 HR, 3 RBIs

    Current Record: 4-5 (4 GB)

      Game 4 of 4

      Outlaws @ Angels

      Jeremy Affeldt (1-0) @ John Lackey (1-0)

The Outlaws and the Angels played the last game of a four game series today. It started when Troy Glaus got a stand up double in the 2nd, and Kennedy followed with an RBI double. Later in the 4th, after two singles to start off the inning, Bellinger got an RBI double scoring Kennedy. The Angels didn't stop there. Spezio picked up an RBI single for himself, and Craig Counsell let one go between his legs for the last run of the inning. The Angels now had a 4-0 lead, and that was all John Lackey needed. He went the distance, pitching his first shutout of the year, and allowing just 5 hits. Loss: 4-0

      Angels
      Spezio: 5 AB, 2 H, 1 RBI
      Anderson: 3 AB, 1 H, 1 RBI
      Bellinger: 3 AB, 1 H, 1 RBI
      Kennedy: 4 AB, 2 H, 1 R

      Outlaws
      Counsell: 4 AB, 3 H

      WP- John Lackey: 9 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 6 K, 3.00 ERA
      LP- Jeremy Affeldt: 5 IP, 10 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3.00 ERA

      Player of the Game: John Lackey: 9 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 6 K, 3.00 ERA

      Current Record: 4-6 (5 GB)
