    Re: NCAA 2004: Maize and Blue Through and Through

    Texas at Michigan

    First Quarter

    Freshman Garrett Rivas started things off with a 28 yard FG. Michigan's defense held, and Steve Breaston's 32 yard punt return set up Chris Perry's 12 yard TD with 1:58 remaining.
    End of one: 10-0 Michigan

    Second Quarter

    Midway through the second Michigan extended their lead to 17-0 when John Navarre connected to Tyrece Butler for a pretty 8 yard lob TD pass. Texas however, responded furiously in the final minutes of the half. Chance Mock scored from three yards out and Linebacker Aaron Harris snapped a Michigan drive at the knees with an 87 yard return for a TD of a Navarre interception.
    Halftime: Michigan 17-14

    Third Quarter

    The only scoring in the third quarter came on a 21 yard pass from Navarre to Jason Avant to put Michigan up 24-14.
    End of three: Michigan 24-14

    Fourth Quarter

    Chris Perry blew the game open with two early TDs in the fourth-a 14 yard run and a 7 yard catch. David Underwood put an exclamation point on the win with a 20 yard TD with 2:24 to go. Texas WR Tony Jeffery scored a meaningless TD with 30 seconds to go.

    FINAL SCORE: MICHIGAN 45, TEXAS 21

    Perry earned game ball honors with 25 carries for 144 yards and 2 TDs along with 8 receptions for 82 yards and another TD. Navarre set the all-time Michigan record for passing yards in a game, going 26-37 with 400 yards, 3 TDs, and 2 INTs. Braylon Edwards took a small step towards earning the #1 jersey, snagging 6 catches for 110 yards.

      Wonder if Mock will lose his starting job again, heh he's still a god in this town.

                  Re: NCAA 2004: Maize and Blue Through and Through

                  Hey everyone, sorry I let this thread fall away. I've actually finished two seasons on this dynasty! I'll give you a recap:

                  Season One:
                  Texas W 45-21
                  @Miami W 34-7
                  Notre Dame W 28-14
                  @Oregon W 52-14
                  Indiana W 73-3
                  @Iowa W 48-21
                  @Minnesota W 35-21
                  Illinois W 55-10
                  Purdue W 27-24
                  @MSU W 48-23
                  @NW W 77-14
                  Ohio State W 12-7
                  SUGAR BOWL: Oregon State W 54-10

                  Braylon Edwards won the Maxwell and Biletnikoff Awards. Marlin Jackson won the Bednarik and Thorpe Awards. I convinced them both to stay for season 2.

                  Season Two: (RB David Underwood stats will be next to the box score in this form: carries-yards-TDs)
                  @ Texas A&M W 29-27 30-123-1
                  Colorado W 59-3 34-240-3
                  Pittsburgh W 53-3 52-421-7 (Braylon Edwards' streak of 15 straight 100 yard games ends; I didn't throw a single pass in this game)
                  @Notre Dame W 34-32 19-68-1
                  Florida State W 52-48 26-74 (fell behind 35-14; allowed 586 passing yards; outscored FSU 38-13 in the second half; Freshman CB Charles Woodson returned a kickoff 88 yards for a score as time ran out)
                  @Indiana W 35-14 33-167-1
                  Iowa L 23-24 23-78 (nightmare; outscored 21-3 in the 4th; Iowa threw a 43 yd. TD with 16 seconds left to stun #1 Michigan and end their 19 game winning streak)
                  Minnesota W 59-0 48-301-4
                  @Illinois W 70-0 41-335-5
                  @Purdue W 41-21 18-102-1
                  MSU W 45-10 58-322-2
                  NW W 79-14 42-464-5 (breaks Barry Sanders' all time rushing record)
                  @OSU W 30-17 19-138 (surprisingly easy win at the Horseshoe)
                  ROSE BOWL: UCLA W 38-31 13-83-2

                  Awards:
                  Underwood: 1 AA, Heisman, Maxwell, Doak Walker
                  Freshman QB Gerry Johnson: Best QB
                  Baas: Best OL
                  Woodson: Bednarik, Thorpe

                  Braylon Edwards leaves Michigan as the all-time leader in literally every single receiving stat at Michigan, breaking all the old records of the other legendary #1s in Michigan history, David Terrell and Anthony Carter. Michigan now heads into the 2005 season using their 3rd starting RB in 3 seasons, and their sticky WR is gone, and Jason Avant and Steve Breaston must emerge. The suspect pass defense is now without All American Marlin Jackson. Coach Brian Kudron is 26-1 in two seasons, but this upcoming season will be his biggest test yet.
