The Phillies open their season against the Pittsburgh Pirates, with Kevin Millwood on the mound facing Kip Wells

In the very first inning, Jim Thome belted one over the RF wall on the second pitch, giving his team an immediate 1-0 lead. Millwood pitched a gem, in the meanwhile, giving up no runs until the 7th inning.

The Phillies made another push in the 6th inning, scoring 3 more runs, starting out with a Bobby Abreu single up the middle. It continued with a hit-and-run double that send Lieberthal to second, and Abreu scored, followed by a Polanco triple and a David Bell single.

The Pirates mustered one run, but the Phillies came out on top, 4-1

                Game 3 @ PNC

The Phillies and Pirates close out the series, and the Pirates hope to start out their season in a little more positive way then they have been.

Vincente Padilla and Josh Fogg took the mound, and the game was offensive, to say the least. The Pirates jumped out to an early 2-0 lead by manufacturing runs, but Padilla did his job, for the most part. In the 4th, the bases were loaded for the Bucs with 1 out, and Padilla ended by striking out the next two batters.

The Phillies scored their runs off of having bases runs in scoring position with less than 2 outs. Jimmy Rollins hit 2 triples, both leading to scores, and Marlon Byrd walked twice, both resulting to eventual scores. Thome did his job and batted in 2 runs, going 3-4. The Phillies sweep the series and win the game, 7-5

                W - Vincente Padilla (1-0)
                L - Josh Fogg (0-1)
                S - Billy Wagner (3)

                Rollins 2-5, 2 triples, 2 runs, 2 RBI
Byrd 0-3, 2 BB, run, outfield assist
                Thome 3-4, RBI

                Bay 3-5, 3 RBI, double
                Kendall 2-5,2 runs, rbi
                Wilson 2-5, run, rbi, triple

Dynasty is looking good as all your dynasties are. Sucks about Polanco's injury though.
How's ASB anyway? I'm thinking of buying it.
