    Miami Dolphins (2K5)

I've finally found slider's I'm really happy with so I'm starting my official Miami Dolphins franchise. I play 6 minute quarters using Auburn34's sliders.

AP - Just a week after star running back Ricky Williams shocked the football world by announcing his retirement from the NFL, head coach Dave Wanstedt has followed suit, saying that he cannot handle the pressure of running this team anymore. "Things have been building up over the last few years. We've had the potential to win the Super Bowl, but we failed to make the playoffs the last two years. We still have a quarterback controversy, and now that Ricky is gone I can't find the will to carry on with this team. The tides are turning and I feel it is best for me to step down."

The team announced its new head coach, former University of Connecticut assistant Joseph Thomas. Thomas is thrilled with the new position. "I've always been a fan of the Dolphins and followed them since I was little. The last few years have been tough to watch because we have so much talent."

When asked about Ricky Williams, Thomas already has a concrete answer and a big announcement. "We have already solved that issue. We have aquired Onterrio Smith from the Minnesota Vikings for Jay Fiedler and a 3rd round draft pick." We feel Onterrio is the best back available to us and I'm thrilled to have him. I think he can step in right away earn the starting spot. Travis Minor will still share some of the time."

This news of course means that AJ Feely is the starting quarterback now, and that the entire season practically rests on his shoulders. "I'm thrilled to come down here and finally not have to worry about playing time after being a back up in Philly for four years. I learned a great deal from Andy Reid and Donovan, and I think I'm ready to be a starter in these league."

Feely will have his fair share of weapons to go, with the blossoming super star Chris Chambers on one side of the ball and flanking him will be newly aquired David Boston. Randy McMichael had a solid year at tight end last year and should also continue to improve.

The defense is solid as ever and will have to play the best the can ever game for Miami to have any chance at reaching the post season.

AP - As if the off season turmoil hadn't already been enough this summer for the Miami Dolphins, they received another crushing blow in the final preseason game. Star cornerback Sam Madison has broken his leg and will most likely be out for the season. Year 1 AR (after-Ricky) continues to look as challenging as possible, especially for a rookie coach.

Miami will host Tennessee in Week 1.

        Week 1: Miami 24 Tennesee 7

AP - Perhaps things won't be so bad for Miami this year. The stuttering offense that was seen all preseason was no where to be found, as AJ Feely had an outstanding first game and David Boston showed why he's one of the league's elite receivers. And best of all, Ricky's absense was not felt as Onterrio Smith racked up 110 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns.

Feely finished 14-20 for 243 yards and a touchdown. The game started with a bang right away, when Feely hit Boston on a 15 yard post pattern, Boston then broke the CB's tackle and went the distance for an 80 yard touchdown on the first play of the season.

Miami's defense was solid, as it held a banged up Steve McNair to 8-22 and 97 yards and 2 INT's. Antwan Smith had 18 carries for 114 yards and the Titans lone touchdown.

"We played outstanding today. AJ looked like a seasoned vet out there. He didn't force any passes and made few mistakes. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come."

"Onterrio was outstanding today. His ability to run between the tackles is impressive, and he fought for extra yards on every play. Our new offensive line was dominating which was my biggest concern coming into the game."

Miami will travel to Cincinnati to play the revamped Bengals in Week 2.

            Miami loses game, Taylor...

            Week 2: Miami 21 Cincinnati 24

AP - Add Jason Taylor to the list of Miami marquee players who's not going to be around anymore. Taylor fractured his forearm in the first quarter Sunday and will be out for 17 weeks. Sam Madison is out for 7 more weeks with a broken kneecap. Ricky Williams retired. The list keeps on growing and Miami keeps hurting.

Miami opened the game by picking off John Kitna's first pass and returning it to the Cinncy 7. Two plays later Onterrio Smith crossed the goal line to give Miami a 7-0 lead. Cinncy soon tied it on a Kitna touchdown pass and then added a field goal before the half to lead 10-7. Miami scored on a long drive capped off by another short Smith run to go up 14-10. But on just 5 plays Kitna had the Bengals back in the endzone on a 15 yard pass to Kelly Washington. With 2:30 left in the game, Feely hit Chris Chambers on a 39 yard post corner to take the elad 21-17. However Miami's secondary could not stop the Bengals and with 1:20 to go Kitna hit Washington in the corner of the endzone to put them ahead for good. Miami's hopes ended when Feely threw a pass into double coverage intended for Chambers that fell incomplete on 4th down.

Coach Thomas tried to be upbeat about Taylor, but it was impossible. "What can I say? We already lost our best offensive player, lost one of the top corners in the NFL, and now we lost our best defensive lineman. I'm not going to make any excuses, we're going to have to win with who we have left. The rest of these guys still have the talent to win games. We were right there tonight and easily could have won."

Miami dropped to 1-1 and will face Pittsburgh in Week 3.

            Feely 13-27, 120 yards 1 TD 1 INT
            Kitna 9-22, 232 yards 3 TD 1 INT

            O. Smith 26-96 2 TD
            R. Johnson 13-53

            Chambers 2 rec 44 yards 1 TD
            Houshmandz 3 rec 132 yards 1 TD

                Miami wins wild shootout

                Week 3 Miami 35 Pittsburgh 31

AP - With all of the injuries and departure of Ricky Williams, the Miami Dolphins are in as shaky a position as any team in the NFL. They could win 3 or less games, or they could make the playoffs. The way David Boston has played so far early this season, it's looking like it might be the latter.

Boston has taken matters into his own hands and demanded the ball since Day 1 of training camp. Sunday he had his biggest game as a Dolphin, reeling in 6 balls for 155 yards. Included was a 73 yard catch but he was caught at the two yardline.

The game went back and forth all afternoon, but Miami finally pulled ahead for good when AJ Feely hit Chris Chambers on a fly pattern. Feely saw the blitzing safety, pump faked and then threw a high arching bomb to Chambers for a 38 yard score with 1:14 to go

                .
Onterrio Smith also had his finest game as a Dolphin, rushing 23 times for 133 yards and four touchdowns.

Chris Chambers added 6 catches for 94 yards and the game winning touchdown with 1:14 left.

Feely also had a good game against the porous Steeler defense. 22-32 for 308 yards and 1 touchdown.
It was also the first game Miami had over 400 total yards in a game.

Rookie Ben Roethlisberger was 12-22 for 185 yards and 2 TD's. Jerome Bettis had 14 carries for 96 yards and Hines Ward had 5 rec for 108 yards and 2 TD's.
