And The Trade Will Go Through

This weekend, the Bobcats put the detailing finishes on anoter early season trade. Albeit, it's minor, with no huge, star players, but it's still an important move.

Darius Songaila, former Wake Forest baller, will join Greg Ostertag to pack up to move to Charlotte to play for the Bobcats. A first-round pick from Sacramento will also be thrown in the mix.

After just joining the Bobcats, Steve Smith, in the latter stages of his career, is sent to Sacramento to try and be another veteran player off the bench to get them over the hump. Sacramento also recieves Brian Hunter and Omar Cook.

Re: NC State of Mind - Bobcats in 2k5

After giving up a lead to a lower-tier West Conference team, the Bobcats welcome another franchise from out West. People are excited abuot the Jazz, except for their 2-5 record. People still have aspirations of a surprise playoff team in Utah.

Utah looked good in this game from the start. This was the first time that Tamar Slay and Gerald Wallace got absolutely exposed defensively. AK47 had a game-high 33 points all over Wallace's head. As for the rest of the team, Charlotte was just shut down offensively. At one point in the first quarter, Utah was up 22-6.

The was the complete story for both teams. Utah dominated, and Charlotte folded. The Bobcats also only had 2 players go for double-figure scoring in this game as well. Bobcats lose bad, 89-71, and it should have been worse.

        Charlotte Bobcats
        35 bench points
        44% FG
        34 Rebounds

        Eddie House 11 points, 5/13 fg's, 4 assist
Emeka Okafor 10 points, 4 rebounds
        Brevin Knight 8 points, 5 assist, 3 TO's
Gerald Wallace 7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals
        Jason Kapono 2 points, 1/9 fg's

        Utah Jazz
        14 bench points
        53% FG
        44 rebounds

Andrei Kirilenko 33 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assist
Carlos Arroyo 14 points, 9 assist
Mehmet Okur 10 points, 15 rebounds

PLAYER OF THE GAME - CARLOS ARROYO

            4 boards for Okafor . . . unacceptable.

Just curious though, what type of offense do your run? Iso with Wallace?

It's a different offense, depending on the opposing team's personell. I like to Iso Wallace a lot, but he's inconsistent on offense. Usually I take a lot of mid-range shots with everybody from House, Ely, Slay and Emeka. My favorite thing is to attack the hoop and dish with Brevin Knight, or put Melvin Ely in the post. Ely is easily my best offensively player, but he's injured right now, so I'm still trying to figure out what is best for my team since I traded my best jump shooter.

                            Charlotte host Cleveland

The Bobcats will host Cleveland (5-2) 2 days before going right back to Cleveland to play the same squad. LeBron has carried his team to a righteous start, while the Bobcats are still finding their way in the jungle.

LeBron came out chuckin', but he was dominating. Tamar Slay was on him, but it didnt matter. LeBron dropped 18 points in the first half, and the Cavs were playing great ball, up by 8 at the half.

In the second half, the Bobcats started to run a zone and LeBron wasn't doing so hot. He continued to hit the boards and be aggressive. Charlotte got on a run shooting the ball, and it carried all the way through the 4th quarter. They completely left Cleveland in the dust, winning the game by 10 points, their first double-digit victory, 85-75.
