The Wizards traveled north to take on Allen Iverson and the 76ers in the city of brotherly love.

To begin the game, Iverson was on fire. He scored his teams first 8 points, including two threes. After that, though, he was double teamed and his production dropped off heavily. On the other side of the ball, the Wizards had an average, at best, first half. Antawn Jamison had his usual scoring numbers, but also distributed the ball. At the end of the half, Philadelphia held a two point lead.

The second half was almost completely different, as the Wizards went on a series of runs, and left Philly in the dust. Gilbert Arenas heated up, scoring many of his points in the fourth quarter, and Jamison remained the hot hand. After the Wizards went on a 12-2 run late in the fourth, there was no way Philly could come back, giving Washington the 79-68 win.

    Player Of The Game

    Antawn Jamison
    31 points, 13-27 FG, 10 rebounds, 4 assists

    Arenas - 19 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds
    Brown - 13 points, 5 rebounds

    Thomas - 13 points, 12 rebounds
    Iverson - 12 points, 8 assists
    Dalembert - 20 rebounds

    Team Assists:
    Philadelphia - 16
    Washington - 21

        Injury Report

        Jarvis Hayes

In practice yesterday, during low post drills, Jarvis Hayes suffered a strained achilles. Hayes is expected to be sidelined for 27 days, and the team will miss his presence out on the wing. As of late, Hayes had become the key player off of the bench for Washington.

Filling in his void as backup wingman, Anthony Peeler will finally get some playing time. The veteran out of Mizzou is known for his three point shot, and should help out the offensively-struggling Wizards.

            On The Block

            Vladimir Radmanovic

The Seattle Supersonics have placed foreign forward Vladimir Radmanovic on the trading block. He has not been producing at his position, and as a result, the Sonics are struggling.

            Paul Pierce

Paul Pierce was also placed on the trading block, as the Celtics feel they can get a good group of guys in return. Pierce has been struggling with his outside shot this year, shooting only 15% from beyond the arc. Even though he's averaging about 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists, the Celtics are ready to part ways with the All-Star.

Good lookin` .. I need more of a post presence, and I'm sure Humphries would hold it down. I'll look into it.

And Vince, I know man.. I just NEED more of a post game, so I can't help but run the drills..

The last time Washington and Toronto played, the Raptors handed the Wizards a loss. This time, the Wiz were looking for revenge.

The first half looked very good for Washington, as they jumped out to a huge lead early on. Up by almost 15 the entire way through the first two quarters, the Wizards had breathing room to do whatever, and Gilbert Arenas was a huge reason for this. He lit up Rafter Alston and Alvin Williams, scoring 15 points in the first half. Going into the intermission, the Wizards held a very comfortable lead.

In the second half, however, it was a completely different ballgame. Toronto played with a purpose, and Vince Carter showed why he was once viewed as the second coming of Jordan. Arenas and Jamison did their best to hold on to their lead from the previous half, but were unsuccessful. With a minute left, the Raptors found themselves within a point, and resorted to fouling. After Arenas drained two free throws, the Raptors hurried down court with the rock in Carter's hands. With 20 seconds left, he threw up a three pointer, and sunk it. With the game tied, the Wizards held for the last shot. Arenas was Iso'd against Alston, got an open look, and clanked it off the iron.

For the first few minutes of OT, it was all Wizards. The Raptors began to fall apart, and made people wonder how they had gotten this far in the game. Arenas continued to have a great game, and Antawn Jamison really stepped his game up. The Raptors made a late comeback attempt, but the Wizards held on to win the game, 94-91.
