The vastly improved Denver Nuggets visited Washington to take on the Wizards.

Basically, the Wizards came to play, and the Nuggets didn't. Over the course of the game, Washington had control of the tempo and score, and Denver was unable to alter that in any way. Whenever the Nuggets started a run, it was shut down and was made look inferior to the Washington onslaught that always followed. Gilbert Arenas and Antawn Jamison lead the charge for the Wizards, while Carmelo Anthony and Kenyon Martin were the high scorers for the Nuggets. After a one-sided affair, the Wizards came out on top, 87-77.

        Player Of The Game

        Gilbert Arenas
        24 points, 11-20 FG, 10 assists

        Jamison - 14 points, 16 rebounds
        Hughes - 12 points, 4 assists

        Martin - 16 points, 15 rebounds
        Anthony - 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists

        Fast Break Points:
        Washington - 14
        Denver - 0

Wow i cant believe Dallas traded for Fortson considering they let him go in the offseason.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

The New York Knickerbockers came to town to take on the Washington Wizards, where the point guard battle was sure to be phenomenal.

Early on, the point guard matchup, pitting Stephon Marbury against Gilbert Arenas, was everything it was expected to be. Both players hit shots and distributed the rock nicely in the first half, leading their teams to good offensive numbers. Neither team really gained an advantage in the first two quarters, and the half ended at a deadlock.

The second half, however, was a little different. Arenas didn't really contribute to the scoring total of the Wizards in the final two quarters, but his team rolled. The Knicks were unable to stop numerous Washington runs, and Marbury couldn't keep his team in the game. When all was said and done, the Wizards won, 89-79.

                Player Of The Game

                Kwame Brown
                16 points, 8-14 FG, 10 rebounds, 5 steals

                Jamison - 23 points, 6 rebounds
                Arenas - 14 points, 16 assists
                Thomas - 6 points, 17 rebounds

                Marbury 18 points, 12 assists
                K. Thomas - 14 points, 9 rebounds

                Team Rebounds:
                Washington - 56
                New York - 43

                    Trade Report

The Seattle Supersonics were, again, involved in a trade today. This time, however, it was with the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the trade, the teams received..

                    Vladimir Radmanovich

                    Drew Gooden

The Cavaliers received size and outside shooting talent in the trade, while the Sonics unloaded an unwanted presence from the locker room, gaining a good rebounder in Gooden in return.

The deal made Seattle an even stronger shooting team, and the Mavericks became even deeper down low.

The newest Western Conference team, the New Orleans Hornets, visited Washington and to take on the surging Wizards.

The first half didn't look too good for either team, as neither could put the ball in the hoop. If it weren't for the play of Gilbert Arenas and Baron Davis, the first half might have been scoreless. After a very boring and frustrating first two quarters, the Wizards lead by 5.

After the intermission, both teams came out firing. Both offenses seemed to be clicking, and neither defense looked nearly as effective as they did in the first half. The Washington Wizards went on a late run thanks to the play of Antawn Jamison and sharpshooting of Arenas, giving them the win over New Orleans, 92-77.

                        Player Of The Game

                        Antawn Jamison

                        Arenas - 18 points, 5-9 3pt FG, 12 assists
                        Hughes - 16 points, 5 rebounds

                        Davis - 23 points, 11 assists, 4 rebounds
                        Magloire - 10 points, 20 rebounds

                        Bench Points:

                        New Orleans - 6

The Wizards traveled to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat for the third time this season.

The early going showed exactly how this ball game was going to go - against the Wizards. Washington was unable to get anything going offensively, shooting a terrible percentage in the first half, and couldn't stop Shaq or Dwyane Wade. Usually, when this happens, teams are put into huge holes. Believe me, this was no different with the Wizards. By the end of the half, the Heat lead by 12 points.

After the intermission, the draught continued for Washington. Arenas went ice cold, and finished with a season-low 9 points. Antawn Jamison was the lone bright spot on the court for the Wizards, and lead his team in scoring like he has much of the season. However, the Heat were just too much, and beat Washington 84-72.
